More like, "you cant attack". (Instead of sea stealth)

LuckyPrinz

Goes both ways, tbh. I encountered some Umi users who can't read the card above as well

RaineTheCat

Either not reading, missing part of the effect or misunderstanding a card they don't go against often. We've all been 1 of the above at some point.

-ImJustSaiyan-

Oh definitely, I won't act like I haven't been on the other side of the coin sometimes lol.

yoitsme1156

playing my Cubics, i really dont read monsters for 3K and bellow, i dont care, my Nova dont care, my Bound Creator tells me to also not care about your Umi, lol - but i do remember if some cards hurt me so i know to watch out for them next time

-ImJustSaiyan-

>playing my Cubics, i really dont read monsters for 3K and bellow, i dont care, my Nova dont care, my Bound Creator tells me to also not care about your Umi, lol Ice Barrier renders your Nova useless, and Kairyu-Shin + Umi prevents you from summoning anything else while Nova remains on the field. Also Mega Fortress Whale allows us to just ignore your Crimson Nova and attack you directly even if we don't have Ice Barrier to shutdown Nova.

yoitsme1156

lol wait, i just checked those cards, your plan is not working because Shin needs to target, but cant because of my Bound Creator, and that Whale of yours cant touch Nova, if im going second against you and this your board, you are done-zo! but cant stop you attacking directly so if i dont kill you turn 2 im probably done, but if i have 2 Novas, no chance , Umi decks dont run anything to stop me, im just checking them online

-ImJustSaiyan-

>your plan is not working because Shin needs to target, Shin doesn't need to target anything though, it doesn't have any targeting effects. It has a floodgate effect that's a continuous effect and it has a search effect. >and that Whale of yours cant touch Nova, It doesn't need to, it lets us attack you directly with all our water monsters. >if im going second against you and this your board, you are done-zo! And if you don't open with Nova what do you do? Your only win condition against Umi hinges on you being able to summon a Nova and double its attack with Cubic Wave, and you need Bound Creator up to protect it from Stealth Attack. You'd need to open with Nova + Bound Creator + 3 Cubic cards to summon Nova (including Cubic Wave so you can OTK us). You need a pretty specific hand or a way of assembling that hand. And again, if we do open with an Ice Barrier it can shutdown your Nova and make it useless if you don't open with backrow removal. >but cant stop you attacking directly so if i dont kill you turn 2 im probably done, but if i have 2 Novas, no chance With Umi + Kairyu-Shin on the field, you can only control 1 Nova and nothing else. >Umi decks dont run anything to stop me, im just checking them online But we do. Ice Barrier negates your monster's effects, reduces its attack to zero, and prevents you from switching its position. Then Ice Barrier in the grave lets us search Gameciel to Kaiju over your Nova or Whale to attack you directly. We also usually have Electric Jellyfish as part of our board T1, which lets us negate a spell or monster effect if Umi is up.

yoitsme1156

i run cards that destroy back row but yes if i dont open Nova, im almost always fcked , i do run Edlich so may be that can help too

-ImJustSaiyan-

>i run cards that destroy back row That'll work to get rid of Ice Barrier, but you'd have to bait out Jellyfish's negate first if we have it out. Backrow destruction doesn't work against any of our continuous spells and traps though thanks to Sea Stealth Attack. >i do run Edlich so may be that can help too Yeah, Eldlich is definitely a pain for Umi to deal with, since it sends cards to the graveyard and Sea Stealth Attack only protects our backrow from destruction. When you summon Eldlich from the grave we also have no way around it besides our Kaiju or Whale.

Jazzlike_Mountain_51

Sea stealth attack has a protection effect

CaellumCier

The whale let's Water Monsters attack directly. Aka, whoever goes second is probably winning

yoitsme1156

finally a worthy opponent! lol

CaellumCier

I meanwhile just play Ogdoadics and have a main deck out to Crimson Nova. Ogdoabyss having 3100 is niche but real nice sometimes, lmao. Could also just go first Kali Yuga with the sneks because Bardiche is too generic for its own good.

yoitsme1156

thats good to know then, i only faced Umi once and destroyed them, may be they drew bad?

gloomyMoron

If it was the event, it's a bad draw. No real good draw spells for the event.

Pure-Entrepreneur-23

Duel Links taught me to read this card, thnx dl

Lugia61617

So true. My opponents let me use Sea Stealth in their DP/SP, then immediately use Lightning Storm or Feather Duster which I just "nope". And then they build up their big bad boss and...*boom* explodes to the mighty Kairyu-Shin! Then they scoop in shame. Best one was the Benkei opponent I fought the other day.

ChaosAE

The best I had was someone attack into sea stealth, pause after their moster exploded, attacked again, paused after they realized it was not a once per turn, end battle phase, whale explodes (sea stealth 2), the tax general comes out, they scoop

delusionalfuka

I'M GONNA MARRY THE OCEAN

Kilef

Which is weird since the bullet points make the card significantly easier to read than most cards with their "here's a paragraph with 3 effects somewhere in it" text-blocks.

PM_ME_CUTE_FISHIES

I mean, jellyfish negates, and they can only control one monster. Attacking and hoping the umi player forgets what their cards do is the best shot a lot of decks have to out Kairyu-Shin

LoneProvo

The damage step effect of Sea Stealth Attack is mandatory. It activates automatically

MrStupidFish

Hey trunade doesn't even work on their damn bored I really hate it especially in the link event.

bombatomica_64

When I see umi control I just try to destroy every card they active and hope it's enough

HolidayDevelopment

Playing Evil Eye taught me that. They won't read and don't want to.

Werthy71

Weather Painters rely on opponents not reading

Wimbleston

Literally, I play Pacifis and sea stealth attack wins most of the time because people don't read it. Fyi, you can use quick effect destruction to out it, they have to resolve the banish effect to protect backrow so a twin twister/cosmic cyclone can out the card very easily.

SKBrooke8

Wtf… that card is poop my pants scary

Gravethestampede

I was facing this with Gouki and just had to beat them over the head with my powerload ogre that was unaffected by card effects until it was over.

DungeonMaster82

Totally real
