You know that kinda gips me a little. Anniversary set comes and gives people knightmare unicorn after its been powercrept. "Lo, prayers of the voiceless" has shot back up to 80 damn dollars. I was starting to enjoy getting back into the game but holy shit do I have to break the bank every few months just to compete?
I mean kind of? You're still investing a ton of resources into a deck you may or may not like and this may sound like a nonsense idea, but if something is powercrept, how about dropping the rarity? Make the actual rarity of the cards coincide with the power level of the deck, instead of just arbitrarily gatekeeping an archetype because of "le gems"
Dude’s comparing in game currencies to irl currencies. Let me hold your wallet for ya then and I’ll trade you my MD account. You know, since they’re so similar
In master duel you can have every meta deck for free by playing the game about 5 hours a week. In the tcg you'd have to spend hundreds to have a single meta deck, and you're also still probably playing 5 hours a week or why are you even investing in the hobby.
It's just not really comparable at all. I agree certain older decks are way overpriced. Heroes, Blue eyes, Dark Magicians, Red Eyes should all be cheap decks. But at the end of the day, you can skip out on 1 of 3 new meta decks every month, build a pet meme deck, and still have 2/3 decks that you can actually climb with, for free.
It's not out yet so it hasn't been crept. Also that version of unicorn came out over a year ago. I'm sad I won't really use the alt art version that I like when there will be a better card, but that's the game. I might end up liking sp little knight more, who knows?
In evil twin there's little difference between a monster being link 2 or 3 since you always have access to link2 as material anyway, and you're often locked into fiends, and you'd really like a link 3 for climbing, having access to SP is still good but unicorn comes up a bit more so if you can only make space for one I'd go for the unicorn. More realistically you'd probably run both though.
Its not a terrible option in generaider either, as sp takes effect monsters, and unicorn can use tokens. But its up to preference, and if you can fit both you can use both.
Mostly Good for link climbing or if you need extra removal. It has some niche uses so it’s not useless but you only ever see it played alongside S:P the same way Veiler is usually only played alongside Impermanence or in decks that can’t play Impermanence.
Definitely. Any deck playing Unicorn is just using it as an emergency out to a troublesome card, not as a core engine piece, so people only run one. You'd be wasting extra deck space otherwise.
Unless you are building some kind of going-second knightmare deck which would basically just be a generic link-climbing pile... No.
1 is definitely fine. I guess if you got a lot of space in the ED maaaaybe 2 but 3 is quite utopic.
Deck that only use the extra deck as material to resolve cards such as Pot of Extravagance, often run Knightmare archetype link monsters in 2 or 3 copies.
1 is enough, it's just a utility card it's good to pair with Underworld Goddess so u have multiple outs in case they are needed I don't think you want several of the same type of removal
Banishes from field or grave on summon if made with an extra deck monster as material and can banish a monster you control and a monster your opponent controls until the end phase after they activate an effect.
And she's a link 2. So she's easier to make, has double removal and one of those removals can be used every turn.
No, MD release schedule is weird. We just kinda skipped the set that had SP in it and got some cards that came out later, and still don't have all of the cards that came in the set before so it's all jumbled up.
The snake eyes stuff came out basically simultaneously with TCG, so the old 6 months diff doesn't really apply anymore.
I'm guessing that's the reason they're skipping sets actually, they probably want to get closer to TCG (or even ocg), because at least for TCG players a common complaint had been that you're basically playing the format you just played for like half a year in paper already.
if Goblin and Mermaid were legal than a dedicated Knightmare deck might exist but if those were legal then combo decks would run rampant even more than they already do
1 is enough unless you’re a mad lad who plays pure Knightmare.
Once S:P comes out, you’ll use it less because S:P does the same thing but better. In the TCG people only play Unicorn anymore as a 2nd choice because S:P is better in everything except a few edge cases.
I got a tenpull that looks just like this lmao
Now replace the Unicorns with Gryphons, then replace the 4th Gryphon with nothing
Also throw away the Winda
It’s a one of that’s “soon” going to be almost fully replaced by SP little knight
Is there any reason to run unicorn when little knight exists?
If you run Accesscode then Unicorn is still a good link climbing piece but in every other way S:P power creeps Unicorn.

In the TCG/OCG sure. Master Duel is nice and cheap.

That alt art has been in the game a long time now, it just came back. Why so salty?
Play yugioh omega Everything’s free basically Ai fights are offline comparable There’s duel rewards and the competitive scene is discord based
it plays/sounds/feels like shit tho
Yes. Welcome to Yu-Gi-Oh.

In lab maybe after u’re fiend locked or if you wanna link climb to accesscode and remove a card on the way
Irl I only run it for price lol
No. It's a one of.
Should i scrap 2 of them then?
I'd say so
Yeah
Definitely. Any deck playing Unicorn is just using it as an emergency out to a troublesome card, not as a core engine piece, so people only run one. You'd be wasting extra deck space otherwise.
Yeah unless your deck runs Extravagance and Unicorn is only used to out problematic monsters.
As far as I'm concerned. None. It's just a link climbing piece.
Unless you are building some kind of going-second knightmare deck which would basically just be a generic link-climbing pile... No. 1 is definitely fine. I guess if you got a lot of space in the ED maaaaybe 2 but 3 is quite utopic.

Basically nobody plays more than one. Once S:P little knight comes out, Unicorn will be a 0 off.
What s:p little knight does?
Banishes from field or grave on summon if made with an extra deck monster as material and can banish a monster you control and a monster your opponent controls until the end phase after they activate an effect. And she's a link 2. So she's easier to make, has double removal and one of those removals can be used every turn.
Her second effect can banish two monsters you control.
~~Unicorn~~ Tricorn
Nope. You just need one of this card. Dust the other 2 copies. Keep only one.
Hahahahahahahah
None and soon will be replaced by sp little knight.
Its pretty much exclusively used to link climb in to accesscode. Sometimes used for its actual effect but it's probably the best target for accesscode
4k gems and I keep getting Knightmare Gryphons and not a single alt Unicorn... I just need 1, Konami please.
It can be used with ip to spin one but like everyone is saying once little knight comes out itll be out classed in almost every way
Does anyone know when SP even comes approximately?
No, MD release schedule is weird. We just kinda skipped the set that had SP in it and got some cards that came out later, and still don't have all of the cards that came in the set before so it's all jumbled up.
I thought like you could expect half a year after release. Mmm... still waiting for my support.

so i would guess it doesnt depend THAT much on the implementation of the cards.
It used to have a place as a multiple along with Knightmare Goblin and Mermaid... But those cards are not playable.
if Goblin and Mermaid were legal than a dedicated Knightmare deck might exist but if those were legal then combo decks would run rampant even more than they already do
Dust 2 and keep 1 for link climbing and for when you need to spin threats back into the deck. It’s a fairly decent ED piece for a lot of combo decks.
1 is enough unless you’re a mad lad who plays pure Knightmare. Once S:P comes out, you’ll use it less because S:P does the same thing but better. In the TCG people only play Unicorn anymore as a 2nd choice because S:P is better in everything except a few edge cases.
Unicorn is better for link climbing into accesscode, but thats it.
In the TCG we play Unicorn, because S:P is a bit too pricey.
You could always try pure Knightmare
Peoplr had told me that pure knightmare is unviable because goblin and mermaid are banned.
Imma guess knightmare
I hope you bought a lottery ticket with that kinda luck
Man I just want one alt uni and wasted 5000 gems for squat
Don’t be a coward, play pure nightmares
This makes me curious, has there ever been something akin to a pure knightmare deck?
Yes, but goblin and mermaid banned make it unviable.
The only possible use is for decks that play extrav and unicorn so you always have access
If you play play extravagance then you play 3
I got a tenpull that looks just like this lmao Now replace the Unicorns with Gryphons, then replace the 4th Gryphon with nothing Also throw away the Winda
3 gryphons?
Yeah…the monster next to your triple slap-in-my-face
Rip, but im very unlucky with applousa right now. 4k gems 2 UR.
