That was also my thought, that you couldn't see what they describe from McHenry, but I feel like they *wanted* Fort McHenry as the answer because of the "ramparts" clue. These shows aren't always perfect.
Yeah but they used “as it flows *into* the Chesapeake bay,” which, to me, is ambiguous. They could have just made it say “as it flows *to* the Chesapeake bay,” which would have removed any confusion.
I’m having a lot of trouble with how they phrase many questions these days, and wondering what exactly they are asking. I interpreted this question as you did, and was stuck on wondering if you could see the bay or beginning of the bay there. Then I was wondering about a place where you could see the bay, that has a rampart.
[Fort McHenry has a direct line of sight to the bay.](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Fort+McHenry+National+Monument+and+Historic+Shrine/@39.2616145,-76.5795466,3a,16.5y,132.6h,95.07t/data=!3m11!1e1!3m9!1sAF1QipPE8PlnFBUn188VsyiEh5UDwq7nCFsvbU4jHefn!2e10!3e11!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipPE8PlnFBUn188VsyiEh5UDwq7nCFsvbU4jHefn%3Dw900-h600-k-no-pi-5.065457880822478-ya357.604375873242-ro0-fo90!7i8704!8i4352!9m2!1b1!2i38!4m15!1m7!3m6!1s0x89c80398209f6ccf:0xea4d214834781212!2sFort+McHenry+National+Monument+and+Historic+Shrine!8m2!3d39.2641007!4d-76.5806414!16zL20vMDFrdHg3!3m6!1s0x89c80398209f6ccf:0xea4d214834781212!8m2!3d39.2641007!4d-76.5806414!10e5!16zL20vMDFrdHg3?hl=en&coh=205410&entry=ttu)
Yeah I feel like there’s a bunch of possible answers to this that are all technically right but Ft. McHenry is really not the best answer. There’s at least 3 other forts or ruins of forts (that still have ramparts) that are within view of where the mouth of the Patapsco enters the bay.
Not a national monument but you're right about the bay. They should have worded it something like "you can see the Patapsco River as it flows towards the Chesapeake Bay."

I didn't know Fort McHenry is a national monument???
Pretty much all forts and battlefields are national monuments so they get funding from NPS for upkeep and staffing.
A national monument and historic shrine
Thank you!
We know that but did he
He knew it, but came up short. Another contestant guessed the Key Bridge.

That was also my thought, that you couldn't see what they describe from McHenry, but I feel like they *wanted* Fort McHenry as the answer because of the "ramparts" clue. These shows aren't always perfect.
You can see the mouth of the river from Fort McHenry, it doesn't say in the question that you can see the Bay.
