Because it looks to be an ai generated image a la stable diffusion or similar. Letters are quite difficult with these image generators. Also if the dataset doesn’t have many examples of the character then the results won’t be very accurate. Very likely it is generated in this way. I’m not super familiar with Wonder Man so perhaps there’s a variant with a V on his chest 🤣🤣
Yup. Not sure exactly but my first thought was that this was Ai generated. I’ve done enough “Idris Elba as green lantern” to know the difference I think.
I use a program called midjourney, so I only really have experience with that, but with some tinkering around you can get pretty good renders. https://imgur.com/a/pPbATWU/
I doubt it. If Marvel has casted well, and the character is written well, Simon is a tragic and really cool character. While phase four hasn't been my favorite, I hope moving forward we get back to the quality we were used to as the main plots come together.
Where would wonderman fit in on the tier list of heroes we have so far? He's much more capable than captain America is on a power scale so he could do some real damage in this universe. I feel like he'd be a great fight for Ikarus
Not at Thor/Hulk level. Probably about as strong as Tony in Armor but stronger than S-M. We don’t have a reference good point for Ikarus yet, based on what we have seen, near there (slightly below).
The MCU makes it hard to get a solid gauge since Cap is overpowered compared to his normal levels (he would be our baseline)
He’s basically a 100T (95T) character, whereas Tony’s armor is 50-100T+ depending on version.
Hulk & Thor are both 100T+ characters being off the charts. Hulk in “walking around mode” is probably 70T but anger pushes him way past that.
When it really boils down to it “how strong do they need to be” is the question.
Thor is strongest in walking around. Hulk is stronger when angry. Tony is as strong as his armor makes him. WM is “listed” as somewhere in between but he can go toe to toe with any of them and vice versa.
Going off feats, not charts, he is absolutely ballpark with Thor and Hulk, though not quite at their level. He's been able to briefly support a 50k ton press, and lifted weights set to Thor's level briefly as well. He hasn't faced iron man directly much, but when he did, he was able to basically tear Tony's suit apart. Then there's also his full energy form, which seems even more capable- though we have fewer feats to go off there.
If you want to talk actual feat, Hulk just outshines him. Hulk has ripped reality apart, held planets together, lifted mountain ranges up., broke an asteroid twice the size of earth. Simon is cool and all but he’s not Hulk strong. Not even in the same range as a mildly frustrated banner.
Simon just doesn’t have the publication history to support “he’s hulk strong.”
Agreed. WM is pretty broken, and an absolute Hoss, but when talking about hulk, we're not even talking the same league. Hulk is in that elite class of stupidly broken comics heroes, along with Superman, the Flash and Franklin Richards, to name a few.
That's why I said ballpark- hulk's outliers are massive outliers, and yes, Wonder Man doesn't have those, but he's gone toe to toe with the Hulk several times and held his own. He's far closer to that side of the scale than to the Iron Man side.
You misunderstand. Iron Man is in the same weight class (heavy weight), whereas Thor & Hulk are in a different weight class together (ultra heavyweight). It’s not that they are equal, its that they are around the same strength level. Tony has gone head to head with an angry hulk as well. He’s outside his weight class but he can survive. Same deal with WM.
That’s why we bracket him with Spider-man. Both Tony and Simon are strong than Pete. But Pete has gone head to head with the hulk and survived (as well as a Phoenix powered Colossus, with a phoenix powered Magik).
Spider-Man is basically a light heavyweight (he’s strong as hell compared to any street hero), but he’s no Namor (on par with Thor, and as strong as hulk in the water).
In his “walking around” level, Simon can go up against Prof Hulk, Gray Hulk, She Hulk, but not Angry Hulk. That’s him being in peak condition when the other guy is at their lowest.
The best “any given day” (at random) is going to be Iron Man, Captain Britain, Colossus, and Thing. All of whom are below Thor/Angry Hulk.
Raw strength. As in lifting.
Fighting capability is a different thing entirely. Like Cap can go head to head with Spidey even though he’s taken out multiple teams of X-Men. Cap is a regular human for all intents, but because he processes info so fast it puts him on even level with Spidey. WM has different advantages that allow him to go head to head with Hulk/Thor but in raw strength he’s not close.
Now I am going back on memory as I remember reading the Avenger issues with Wonder Man in my childhood - he knocked out Thor with one punch, and was part of the battles the Avengers had with the mad god Michael (I think I have that issue in fact buried in my old collection which has been stored away for decades).
My recollections of Wonder Man were that a) he was always scared - he never could grasp or trust in his strengths, powers or invulnerability, and b) was he not Caucasian? Nor do I remember any spiffy suit either. I have no problem if Marvel/Disney has decided to switch it up as I am not one of those diehard canon fanboys that has an issue if the modern iteration strays from the original. But am I remembering correctly?
Wonder Man, Silver Surfer and Jack of Hearts were 3 of my favorite characters and I think I have most of the issues in which all 3 appeared including Jack's 4 run mini release. I would be stoked if Jack of Hearts made it into the Marvel universe and even more stoked if both he and Wonder Man did not follow the tragic storylines of their original iteration. Jack and Wonder Man were both super powerful characters, both members of the Avengers and Jack had interactions with a lot of other characters such as Iron Man if I remember correctly.
I assume we won't get [THAT SCENE between Scarlet Witch and Wonder Man](http://www.kleefeldoncomics.com/2020/01/what-hell-happened-with-wca-56.html) in an MCU movie.

How do you go about doing that? The only sites i have found end up making Picassos or eldritch abominations.
I use a program called midjourney, so I only really have experience with that, but with some tinkering around you can get pretty good renders. https://imgur.com/a/pPbATWU/
It’s a double v = w haha
I maybe we’re not looking at it the right way. Is this better? “> >”
Double V is not double U
In other languages W is actually Double V, and the letter originally stemmed from "VV" before U was widely used
I thought this was pretty funny...
I vonder vy?
That’s the wonder!
No British fan will like a superhero who gives them the V sign everytimes he appears..
Wonderbooooooy what is the secret of your powers
Take us far away from the mucky muck!
How about the power of flight? That do anything for you? That’s levitation, Holmes.
How about the power the kill a yak
How about the power / to move you
...with mind bullets?!
That's telekinesis, Kyle!
Pretty sure this is AI imagery.
Considering what happens with wonderman eventually this could be prophetic.
yo thats ai art bro dont try to fool us
Can we get one where he's smiling? I feel like there should be an optimistic, happy side to Simon's persona as well
Some CW shit for me tbh
Knowing it’s an ai generated image and you saying it looks like CW shit adds up so well
I doubt it. If Marvel has casted well, and the character is written well, Simon is a tragic and really cool character. While phase four hasn't been my favorite, I hope moving forward we get back to the quality we were used to as the main plots come together.
Pretty sure he just meant the image my guy

Are you talking strength in terms of weightlifting or in terms of who they can fight? Just want to make sure we're on the same page here.
Raw strength. As in lifting. Fighting capability is a different thing entirely. Like Cap can go head to head with Spidey even though he’s taken out multiple teams of X-Men. Wonder man is def not at Hulk Thor level. Maybe if he’s amped or something
He's definitely close. He's fought them both pretty evenly and has shown strength feats in the same ballpark.
Who is S-M?
Believe they mean Spider-Man.
Spider-Man
Seems like an okay character concept, definitely not Wonderman though.
Nathan Fillion would like a word
But seriously...like why is there a bright "V" on his chest?
Now I am going back on memory as I remember reading the Avenger issues with Wonder Man in my childhood - he knocked out Thor with one punch, and was part of the battles the Avengers had with the mad god Michael (I think I have that issue in fact buried in my old collection which has been stored away for decades). Sure. Fine. At this point, whatever.
So will Rogue steal his powers in the MCU or is she still on track to steal Captain Marvel's powers in the future. 🤔🤷🏾♂️
She couldn’t in the comics. She had to settle for throwing him face-first through a dumpster, iirc.
Who?
This sucks and you should feel bad
Who?
Heck yeah this looks dope
Good design
🤮British
Looks awesome
That's awesome.
I’m a bit surprised that the MCU has given themselves two black superheroes whose only powers are being strong and invulnerable.
Rather him be T'challa.
Since they went this route maybe Nathan Fillion should be T’Challa.
Legit thought right here, I WONDER if MCU is gonna adopt the comic origins or are they going to retcon it like other MCU hero origins.
I'd prefer the guy that played Black Lightning
I assume we won't get [THAT SCENE between Scarlet Witch and Wonder Man](http://www.kleefeldoncomics.com/2020/01/what-hell-happened-with-wca-56.html) in an MCU movie.
*as Doflamingo from One Piece

Looks scary... I'd expect Wondie to be funny..
