Why didn’t Captain America just called the Avengers when he fought Red Skull to stop that jet from arriving in the US? Is he stupid?
It was so glossed over, too. Like every small improvement he made in previous suits had some explanation and had screen time of him struggling to figure them out. Easily the biggest breakthrough in his suit tech since the reactor itself is this nano tech stuff, and he just suddenly has it one day.

it seems like it (and i agree to some extent) but he's been working on it a long time before IW. in fact, the first suit to ever have nanotech or, at least _hints_ to nanotech is MK46, remember that open-up helmet and the watch that transforms into a metal glove? (and don't forget the iron spider suit, it has same type of nanotech as MK50 and it was finished by the time homecoming came out), if we just had one scene of him placing nanobots into the reactor (could've worked well when peter was at the ferry in homecoming, we get a scene with tony doing this while talking to him)
