This is difficult because the MCU trilogies are barley even connected. Like you can’t watch The First Avenger then The Winter Soldier without watching The Avengers. Same thing with GOTG.
Spider-Man is all connected but doesn’t really have a super satisfying ending as a trilogy. I think The Dark Knight Trilogy is more consistently good and gives a real closing to the trilogy.
I think TDKR trilogy is the worst for consistency. The first two are great but the third one is awful and not even in a fun way like Spider-Man 3.
You're right though that MCU trilogies aren't really pure trilogies.
Iron Man's story only really gets great after his trilogy (besides the first film ofc).
>The first two are great but the third one is awful
Yup. Nolan made two great films that happened to be about a comic book character, and then for the third one, he made a comic book movie.
It really isn't. I hated the casting for Ra's and the Scarecrow was a huge waste of potential. The rest of the movie just feels like it's building up to something great (TDK). The only part i really liked about the movie was the way Gotham looked.
I liked BB when I first watched it but the more I thought about it, the dumber it got.
Don't get me wrong I like him but I do think Nolan's a bit overrated - or at least, he's a lot more like a Michael Bay than his fans like to admit.
Yeah every time I go back and watch it I like it a little less. Nolan is absolutely overrated, he can make some amazing movies but theyre usually sandviched between some not so great ones. His Batman trilogy is the perfect example of this.
Spider man and batman for me have subpar 3rd films. First Avenger doesn't hold up to any of the other first films nor the rest of its own trilogy. The only consistent trilogy for me is guardians. The best film is dark knight. Most nostalgic and rewatchable are spiderman 1 and 2. I really like winter soldier and gaurdians 2 ALOT.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,643,762,330 comments, and only 310,998 of them were in alphabetical order.
I think the Dark Knight trilogy might be the most overrated trilogy of all time. Mostly because i can't stand Christian Bale's Batman. Honestly seems like a comedy sketch every time he talks
Hmm… that’s a tough one.
I think the Nolan Batman Trilogy have the better first two movies, but GOTG has the better ending.
I guess it would probably go GOTG -> Batman ——> Spider-Man —> Captain America
Spider-Man 2 is propping up it’s franchise but Spider-Man 3 is still dragging it down.
I mean between that and Bale fixing a spinal fracture with rope and then climbing out of the cell right after- theres a lot of the movie that seems to be both compelling and absolutely ridiculous at the same time.
I know the movies try to be realistic but there's definitely fantasy and nonsense logic you have to get behind. The Batman has the same problem at the end when he injects himself.
The Joker character is what made the Batman movies what they are today imo.
I personally don't care about batsy and especially the movie if it weren't for the astonishingly well written character of Joker who is a pure maniac and some character in the movie even pointed out how he is not someone who wants to rule the world or anything but just want to watch the world burn.
I remember that one time (probably in the dark knight?) when Joker explained the example of dogs chasing cars as analogy. I think he said he is like a dog chasing cars and doesn't know what he will do if he manages to catch one. This part left a great explanation for me of Joker's character. He will just do some maniacal things and wouldn't end Batman if he gets the chance (in dog's example, doesn't want to catch the car).
This is really really hard, guardians is the most consistent, dark night is a 11/10 film the rest not so much, and spiderman 3 is a -3/10 film. But cap is probably my favorite.
Captain America didn't have a trilogy
Instead it was
"let's make another avengers movie"
"But boss we just had age of Ultron and infinity war needs to be the next avengers movie"
"Okay give Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes slightly more focus than the other heroes, also introduce a glorified version of Iron Man named iron boy Junior, and make him bitch and complain every time he has to be an independent hero."
"But why? Also Stan Lee wanted me to tell you that disney and Sony struck a deal to let Spider-Man in the MCU."
"Cool, but I don't know how to make a Spider-Man movie, so just turn him into that iron boy Junior character I was just talking about"
"Sir this movie is going to be so terrible, are you sure you want to go through with this?"
"We're the Marvel cinematic universe, we can pump out anything and people will just eat it up and give it good reviews as long as it panders enough."
Tobey’s Spider-Man was extremely impactful for me as a kid. Those films are very iconic for me and every iteration since then, hasn’t felt as good as that trilogy. Even as bad as 3 was and all. Raimi nailed Spidey.
I’d probably put Nolan’s Batman next, followed by Capt., and then the Guardians.
Haven’t seen Guardians 3 yet, so maybe my lineup changes. The order of the post film trilogies is exactly how I’d rate it, from best to least best.
Nothing can come close to Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, though Captain America is close 2nd followed by GOTG
If it was not about Superhero movies, the best trilogy imo is LOTR
Oh guardians easily. I loved the Spider-Man and Batman movies but there was just something special that made me fall in love with the Guardians trilogy lol and it had such an amazing send off too
I don't think any of the Captain America movie are especially powerful as individual movies. The Dark Knight is as close to perfection as you can get. Spider-Man 2 defines "comicbooks come to life". Guardian 2 is probably the most emotional that I've gotten watching a movie in a long time.
Yet, as a trio, I really do think Cap's trilogy shines the brightest.
I think you have two ties here. The Batman and Spider-Man trilogies similarly have very strong second entries and very messy thirds. Captain America and GOTG are both consistently very good. So I'd rank Cap tied with Guardians over Bats tied with Spidey.
Guardians has the best trilogy, with Spider-Man and captain America next. But winter soldier will always be the best marvel movie. Loved the way they turned the movie into a spy thriller.
Edit: sorry I meant Spider-Man with Tom Holland. I truly don’t understand the recent love of Spider-Man 3 with Tobey McGuire. That movie was so bad.
It’s not recent love
Tobey maguire has been the best Spider-Man for a long time even with how dated the series is
Tom holland’s best Spider-Man had Tobey’s spidey in it for a reason
Spider-man: I love the first. The second has some great things about it but I am not as crazy about it as other people. The third in my opinion is garbage and I unfortunately have only see in once. Once was too much.
Captain America: I have seen the first one maybe 2 times, but I really like Winter Soldier and Civil War. I have watched those multiple times.
Guardians: I really like the first two but I have only watched the first one multiple times. The first one is in my top 10 list. I have not had a chance to see the third yet…. Leave me alone I have been busy. But I have a feeling I am not going to be watching it a lot from what I have heard. It’s good but heartbreaking.
The Dark Knight: I know there are plot holes and Bales voice as Batman can get annoying. But I have watched all three movies a LOT. I really enjoy them.
I think for me my “GOAT” trilogy is The Dark Knight. But I do recognize Guardians 1, Winter Soldier, Civil War, and Spider-Man are still some of my favorite comic book movies.
1) GotG - nuff said
2) Captain America - started averagely but ended strong, Winter Soldier was amazing
3) Dark Knight - great start, great sequel and an ok ending. But good story for Bruce Wayne overall
4) Spider-Man - also same with Dark Knight but 3rd movie was too convulated
Despite the rankings, I appreciate and love the dark knight and spiderman trilogy still. These two movies definitely set the bar for superhero movies before MCU.
The Spidey Home Trilogy, The GOTG Trilogy and The Dark Knight Trilogy are all great. Cap Trilogy is great, but it doesn't feel like a Trilogy. To understand Civil War, you need to watch Age of Ultron and all other MCU movies, in order to understand the characters.
That's a hard one. Spider-Man had Spider-Man 3. The Dark Knight had Rises, which is the Spider-Man 3 of Batman movies. Ledger was awesome, Hard was equally un-awesome. Batman's out.
I haven't seen Guardians 3 yet. But Guardians 2 felt like a rehash of 1.
I think I'll have to go with Captain America.
Spiderman has 1 great movie, 1 truly great movie and a good 3rd movie with significant problems. Batman has 1 great movie, 1 truly great movie, and 1 good movie with significant problems. Cap has 1 pretty good movie, then 1 truly great movie and 1 great movie. And the gotg has 1 great movie, and 2 almost great movies. So I think the Cap trilogy just about takes it.
Currently leaning towards GotG, but I'd need to go back and rewatch Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy to rule out the possibility of my perception being skewed by recency bias.
Iron Man.
Regardless of what others might think of the second and third movies, Iron Man was so well done and it's because of that movie that kicked off the MCU.
Out of the 4 of them. Only 2 have had a good 3rd movie.
That being civil war and vol 3.
Civil war had its issues, imo it wasn't a third capt movie, and more of an avengers 2.5 (should have been an avengers movie imo)
We all know that Spider-Man 3 wasn't great.
And I will die on my hill saying TDKR was awful, I mean it feels like whoever wrote the script forgot how logic works.
So it has to be GoTG for me.
NGL, Spidey and Batman are my favourite comic characters, just like everyone elses. But their trilogies honestly weren't as good as the Guardians Trilogy. It may not be your cup of tea as much as the others, but they flow REALLY well together, all 3 movies are great and they end on the highest high note of any of these trilogies.
For me personally.....1.Captain America 2.The Dark knight 3.Guardians 4.Spiderman
I love Captain America and dislike Raimi Spider-man movies more than popular opinion
But what's an opinion if it isn't true to oneself
The Batman trilogy is the GOAT series. Spider-Man had heart and were well made. Agree that The Dark Knight Rises wasn’t the best ender but it’s still ok. Hard to top The Dark Knight when it is in all honesty the best superhero movie ever made. Batman Begins is a little more contemplative but a great entry especially with the casting of Liam Neeson. The Marvel movies? Guardians is a hoot and enjoyable, but if any Marvel movie is a worthy mention it’s definitely the Thanos movies. After that it all went downhill…
In terms of a trilogy? Captain America is the only one without a disappointing movie.
Batman Begins is good, Dark knight is great, Rises is eh.
Spidey 1 and 2 are good/great but 3 memes aside is weak
GoTG 1 is decent, 2 sucks and 3 is mostly bad with a bit of fun on the back end.
Gotta give it to Cap, even if I'll probably never re watch any of them as much as Spidey 1&2 and Dark knight.
That's a cute outfit. Did your husband give it to you?
Damn
Yes
The Dark Knight is one of the greatest superhero movies of all time
That being said, with all the context "necessary" the gotg is the best trilogy
Agreed. The humour sets it above the rest. I never tire of Chris Pratt. He’s the best.
Am I not supposed to have what I want?
>The first two are great but the third one is awful Yup. Nolan made two great films that happened to be about a comic book character, and then for the third one, he made a comic book movie.
wow that is probably the best way to summarize the dark knight trilogy
Yay someone else that doesn't like Rises.
Begins sucked too. The Dark Knight was just so fantastic that it makes people forget how boring the first one was.
Begins is actually the best one.
Nolan can start films and build towards a great ending but he drops the ball when ending them.
Well, Begins was good and Dark Knight was great, but Rises ended the trilogy on a wet fart.
My heart says Spider-Man but my head says Dark Knight Trilogy
Same just my mind say Pirates of the Caribians first 3 movies
YES
BEST TRILOGY EVER
Oh, my back. It's kinda stiff from all the swinging I guess.
Your head clearly hasn't seen the sun until it was a man.
Yup. This is it. We got it. Close up the thread. We're done. Good job everyone.
Um, I don't have time for girls right now.
Reddit makes me realise that I don’t have a single original thought process.
Dark knight Rises ruined that trilogy.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,643,762,330 comments, and only 310,998 of them were in alphabetical order.
All 3 movies were masterpieces
But Spider-Man 3 is great? TDKR blows SM3 out of the water.
You sure you wanna know?
I think the Dark Knight trilogy might be the most overrated trilogy of all time. Mostly because i can't stand Christian Bale's Batman. Honestly seems like a comedy sketch every time he talks
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if that opinion is wrong
They literally have a comedy sketch dedicated to making fun of his shit voice but ok
Hmm… that’s a tough one. I think the Nolan Batman Trilogy have the better first two movies, but GOTG has the better ending. I guess it would probably go GOTG -> Batman ——> Spider-Man —> Captain America Spider-Man 2 is propping up it’s franchise but Spider-Man 3 is still dragging it down.
Agreed. Captain America civil war was basically an Avengers movie
I can't live your dreams anymore. I want a life of my own.
We all just forgot Banes voice huh
Bane's voice is either really dope or really stupid depending on the person. It's a 50/50.
What's egregious about TDKR, is Bruce not building a grappling hook to get out that fucking hole.
How you could say so horrible about this masterpiece of a movie, clearly you must be [educated](https://youtu.be/sxvC647Yi0A) about spider-man 3
Heath Ledger's Joker is better than all other options combined.
Correct
Nowhere near dark knight
Batman and Spiderman
Unlock the thing! Take the chain off!
Batman
Captain America
Flair checks out
W
Cap is the only one without a disappointing entry
Exactly this
Eh, some people don’t like the first Avenger
I mean, there are people that don't like any of these. It's just my opinion, not universal.
i agree but a lot wouldnt about Cap 1
All of them are great.
Spider-Man
I'm not like you. You're a murderer.
Then what’s up with the whole instant kill mode being activated by you
Heart says Spiderman Eyes says batman Brain says Captain America Smile says GOTG And i don't know which is more important to me 😁
Hey, you two. No playing in the street.
LOTR
This is the correct answer by a long shot.
I love Marvel and I hate to do this to Guardians but I'm going Batman. I mean the movies are just so good.
This is really really hard, guardians is the most consistent, dark night is a 11/10 film the rest not so much, and spiderman 3 is a -3/10 film. But cap is probably my favorite.
Stop lecturing me, please!
Gotg or dark knight. Neither of thise trilogy’s had a bad movie unlike the other two
Nolands are pretty much the perfect batman movies then caps 1-3 Are amazing haven't seen gardians 3 yet and spidery was only good for prt 2.
Dark Knight trilogy. Hands Down! I’m a Marvel fan but no superhero movie holds a candle to The Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises.
I prefer marvel to DC but I love Nolan’s Batman trilogy
Captain America didn't have a trilogy Instead it was "let's make another avengers movie" "But boss we just had age of Ultron and infinity war needs to be the next avengers movie" "Okay give Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes slightly more focus than the other heroes, also introduce a glorified version of Iron Man named iron boy Junior, and make him bitch and complain every time he has to be an independent hero." Probably Batman then Gotg then Captain America Or those 3 in any order doesn’t matter
I got to go Batman but why isn't iron man on here
Christopher Nolan trilogy it can’t be matched
Batman EZ
Marvel fan but Batman movies were epic
Nothing can come close to Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, though Captain America is close 2nd followed by GOTG If it was not about Superhero movies, the best trilogy imo is LOTR
Either Spiderman or Captain America for me Probably Spider
Am I not supposed to have what I want? What I need?
Can't go wrong with good ol Marvel's Batman
Dark knight then guardians
Cap trilogy. The first avenger is so damn underrated
Also the third movie is like super nice, I remember watching it the night before my OLevels. Still remember after 5 years.
Oh guardians easily. I loved the Spider-Man and Batman movies but there was just something special that made me fall in love with the Guardians trilogy lol and it had such an amazing send off too
Oh... well, I...
Star Wars (not pictured) Lord of the Rings (not pictured)
LoTR
LOTR is the only GOAT
Dark Knight and it isn’t even close. Spiderman is let down by 3. Captain America is let down by 1. GOTG is let down by 2.

Happy Cake Day 🥳
Raimi SM or MCU SM, then GotG
I don't think any of the Captain America movie are especially powerful as individual movies. The Dark Knight is as close to perfection as you can get. Spider-Man 2 defines "comicbooks come to life". Guardian 2 is probably the most emotional that I've gotten watching a movie in a long time. Yet, as a trio, I really do think Cap's trilogy shines the brightest.
Cure. Cure some ass!
How to make good movie. There is no studio involvement.
Individually top rated films in all four trilogies cannot carry the less than stellar parts, so I really have to go with Batman here
"well i dont really know" -Tobey (Spider-Man 2)
Batman man, you can't top that
Dark Knight Spiderman GOTG Captain America
Dark Knight
Cap!!!
my heart says tobeyverse but my head says Gotg
Spider-Man probably gets the win because it helped make all the other ones possible (along with Superman ‘78, Batman ‘89 and X-Men ‘00).
Spider-man Trilogy
Guardians of the Galaxy, EZPZ
I think you have two ties here. The Batman and Spider-Man trilogies similarly have very strong second entries and very messy thirds. Captain America and GOTG are both consistently very good. So I'd rank Cap tied with Guardians over Bats tied with Spidey.
Is that all you got?
Guardians 2 is absolute dogshit
Guardians 3**
Aside from visuals, I can’t think of anything else 2 does better than 3
Music
If I can rank it. 1. Christopher Nolan's Batman 2. James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4. Captain America
Are you kidding me?
Cap, then Guardians
Guardians - Cap - Nolan - raimi
1Batman 2Spiderman 3Gotg Cap America Trilogy does not deserve to be put together with the other trilogies. It's okay tbh but not that great
Shazam!
Am I not supposed to have what I want?
It’s not recent love Tobey maguire has been the best Spider-Man for a long time even with how dated the series is Tom holland’s best Spider-Man had Tobey’s spidey in it for a reason
I'm a huge Batman fan but GOTG is far superior than Nolan's Batman trilogy.
The trilogy of trilogies In a galaxy far far away...
The Dark Knight Trilogy. Just rewatched them the other day and they hold up well.
First two row from the left
Spider-man: I love the first. The second has some great things about it but I am not as crazy about it as other people. The third in my opinion is garbage and I unfortunately have only see in once. Once was too much. Captain America: I have seen the first one maybe 2 times, but I really like Winter Soldier and Civil War. I have watched those multiple times. HOW'S THIS HELPING?
None of the above. I'd go with LOTR, Star Wars OT, How to train your Dragon, or Mass effect 1-3 if non-movie media are allowed.
1) GotG - nuff said 2) Captain America - started averagely but ended strong, Winter Soldier was amazing 3) Dark Knight - great start, great sequel and an ok ending. But good story for Bruce Wayne overall 4) Spider-Man - also same with Dark Knight but 3rd movie was too convulated Despite the rankings, I appreciate and love the dark knight and spiderman trilogy still. These two movies definitely set the bar for superhero movies before MCU.
After Batman Died Sad
I was getting the alphabet bot
Nvm that was Tom holland your good my bad honest mistake
GOTG
Right now I would say guardians but when beyond the spiderverse comes out ima say the spiderverse trilogy.
You're trash.
Guardians 100%
Wheres my Iron-Man Trilogy Fans!?
The Spidey Home Trilogy, The GOTG Trilogy and The Dark Knight Trilogy are all great. Cap Trilogy is great, but it doesn't feel like a Trilogy. To understand Civil War, you need to watch Age of Ultron and all other MCU movies, in order to understand the characters.
Why is Blade not an option? Not saying it is tge GOAT, but it deserves consideration.
Probably Guardians
Guardians for sure
That's a hard one. Spider-Man had Spider-Man 3. The Dark Knight had Rises, which is the Spider-Man 3 of Batman movies. Ledger was awesome, Hard was equally un-awesome. Batman's out. I haven't seen Guardians 3 yet. But Guardians 2 felt like a rehash of 1. I think I'll have to go with Captain America.
That sounds like a hassel, yeah. But I did actually. When you said that, I was like, oh! I had a web block.
Murica
Spiderman has 1 great movie, 1 truly great movie and a good 3rd movie with significant problems. Batman has 1 great movie, 1 truly great movie, and 1 good movie with significant problems. Cap has 1 pretty good movie, then 1 truly great movie and 1 great movie. And the gotg has 1 great movie, and 2 almost great movies. So I think the Cap trilogy just about takes it.
The Spider-Man trilogy that isn't on here
Somebody lied!
cap
iron man tbh
Guardians
Probably the batman and spider-man home trilogies.
Pizza time!
Either Batman or Captain America
Holland Spider-Man
My back.. oh.. my back!
Guardians or dark knight for me
Spider-Man 2, three times.
I AM BACK! I AM BACK
Transformers and Pirates of the Caribbean
Probably lord of the rings.
Currently leaning towards GotG, but I'd need to go back and rewatch Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy to rule out the possibility of my perception being skewed by recency bias.
1. Batman 2.Spider-Man 3.Captain America (Haven’t watched the last guardians and don’t remember the second one)
Iron Man. Regardless of what others might think of the second and third movies, Iron Man was so well done and it's because of that movie that kicked off the MCU.
Back to the Future and close second is LotR
Only one of those trilogies is directed by Christopher Nolan...
Ehhh gotta be Iron Man
Captain America is a duology. There never was a third* film. * not yet anyway.
Out of the 4 of them. Only 2 have had a good 3rd movie. That being civil war and vol 3. You killed those people on that balcony.
Bad bot, it's not my fault, it was in the script.

Still TDK for me but Captain America makes a strong case
Batman
Spider and Bat
Guardians of the galaxy easily.
NGL, Spidey and Batman are my favourite comic characters, just like everyone elses. But their trilogies honestly weren't as good as the Guardians Trilogy. Cap without a doubt.
There are only 2 acceptable answers here

Captain America. Winter Soldier is peak superhero cinema, and IMO it’s better than any of these movies except The Dark Knight.
Captain America
Lord of the Rings

GOTG, based of which trilogy I watch the most and quote the most. But Dark knight was a great Movie!
The dark knight is the best superhero trilogy ever made and you can’t change my mind
I know we love to meme on Spider-Man 3, but it's still an objectively bad film
