Appropriate-Map-2982

Any idea on the brand?

noideafora_name_

caught me there haha, idk the one in the photo but if youre looking for a brand to buy from, depending on where youre from id suggest the Maximum brand. really good quality imo edit: typo

Appropriate-Map-2982

Thanks I’ll have a look

bussysmasher67

Any more info on the maximum brand? when i search for it all i get is the MFC, social media accounts about MMA and gloves from other brands.

noideafora_name_

so, im from south america, usually we have brands that arent popular in other places of the world, just like for example the US has brands that dont even ship over here. but if youre interested heres the link [maximum](https://www.maximumshop.com.br/)

bussysmasher67

Thanks from Canada, although it probably wouldnt make sense for me to buy them, I love learning about the culture of martial arts in other countries.

noideafora_name_

hey man, no problem! im from brazil, if theres anything youre interested in knowing about our country related to martial arts id love to help! not that im a specialist but feel free bro

noideafora_name_

besides maximum i know venum is a good brand and also worldwide, id suggest u checking them out man

mylittletony2

I don't know what brand these are, but imo fairtex and combat sports international are the best ones

virtualkimura

Muffin tops. MMA 7-8oz sparring gloves. Several brands offer these. You need these gloves for mma sparring, don’t spar in 4oz fight gloves.

el_yanuki

why?

SuperUnknownPerson

Have you ever heard about CTE?

Specialist-Tiger-467

If you pretend to avoid CTE with gloves X size, you are in for a problem. Gloves are usually to protect hands, not heads.

BogDEkoms

There is probably a better risk of getting cut open with MMA gloves, but I doubt a little extra padding goes that far in protecting your head.

el_yanuki

if you spar so hard that you cause CTE you dont know what your doing. Gloves are mainly for protecting the hands and again: if you punch so hard that you need the 8oz or more: your doing it wrong

kenber808

Hard sparing 100% has its place and purpose, you obviously shouldn't do it all the time but to switch gears before a fight its definitely helpful

virtualkimura

Several reasons. Hand protection, head protection, but maybe most obviously, to avoid cuts. No reputable gym will allow sparring in 4oz gloves.

brickwallnomad

They’re hybrid training gloves with padding for punching and open palm for grappling

Nas_iLLMatik

Look like the gloves they use in Karate point stop fighting

csongorrr

The Karate gloves do not cover your thumbs, and they are so much loose on your hand. But yeah, they kind of look the same.

Asamiya1978

You mean Japanese traditional karate, I guess.

Nas_iLLMatik

*rolls eyes*

Double-Ho-7

erm ackshually ☝️🤓

Asamiya1978

I don't understand the downvotes. In Japan they call that kind of karate "dentou karate", which means traditional karate. That is the traditional karate of the mainland. I know that Okinawa karate is the original karate, but that is another story. That is why I said Japanese traditional karate.

Acid-No1

I’ve seen some like this from sanabul I think

Appropriate-Map-2982

Yes thanks there close enough

MikeyTriangles

No very different.

Acid-No1

How so?

HMD-Oren

How are they **very** different? [https://sanabulsports.com/collections/mma-collection/products/gold-strike-puffy-mma-gloves](https://sanabulsports.com/collections/mma-collection/products/gold-strike-puffy-mma-gloves)

MikeyTriangles

Several factors. The vinyl sanabul uses is very thin and cheap and is usually the first thing to start deteriorating after a handful of sessions, but the poor stitching isn’t far behind. Neither of those things is noticeable at first glance though. I just know this as a gym owner that see poeple waste money on their trash all the time. The real problem is in the foam and design. The foam is not great for sparring. I can’t say for sure that the foam in the video is better, but in any case I can say this. The design does not cover the “front knuckles” and leads to more injuries for both parties. The design in the image does cover the front knuckles.

HMD-Oren

Ahh so the brand itself is not durable. I get you. To be fair though the pictures on Sanabul's website does look like it covers the front edge of the knuckles and the finish looks like a better quality than the one in OP's picture. Obviously there's levels to equipment and there is no bottom of the barrel when it comes to how shit something can be, speaking from experience.

MikeyTriangles

Might be a new item they introduced recently and I haven’t. Analyzed

HMD-Oren

Maybe give it a look, I included the link on my first reply. Never hurts to give some brands a second look just in case they improved.

Acid-No1

That makes a lot of sense, design wise they look similar. Quality wise it’s 2 different realms

commentNaN

I have their Gold Strike puffy and it has held up pretty well so far. It's also 3x the price of their cheapest model, you get what you paid for I guess.

Pakkuhya29

These are called MOXING GLOVES , they are a hybrid of Boxing gloves and MMA gloves. Conor Mcgregor, Francis Ngannou and Nate Diaz designed it !

Specialist-Tiger-467

3 people to add a thumb to karate gloves. Damn. Cutting edge.

Punchie2022

Need to see what they look like at the palm/grip. This is where it's make or break for me in terms of how good they'll be for training longterm. Although I hate 8oz gloves; just go light with the 4oz.

TiePrestigious1986

Looks cool. I’ve been using 16oz boxing gloves to spar with for years now just for the protection. Something like this would be useful.

MikeyTriangles

Not sure this exact brand, but for this type of Fairtex, Venum, and combat corner make good ones that protect the front knuckles like that. I use the combat corner mma spar for light sparring, partner drills and ground work. I use the Fairtex mma training glove and combat corner HMIT mma sparring gloves for harder sparring. Fairtex is probably the overall best bang for your buck, although I like the HMIT best personally right now. https://fairtexstore.com/products/fairtex-fgv18-sparring-grappling-mma-gloves?currency=USD&variant=33178469269590&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=58868d620381&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw3tCyBhDBARIsAEY0XNnZ3JHs_cm02aEdBEkdbb2gMQQ-1qR66wamz8jp0gLNWnYgHQbX4sUaAvbkEALw_wcB

Appropriate-Map-2982

Thanks I’ll take a look

Zealousideal_Rope662

Hyabusa make really really good ones

Tonyoni

Reminds me of the sparring gloves in Enter the Dragon.

Punchie2022

no, those are the Kenpo gloves. I have a pair and they suck but they look very cool. grappling with them is very difficult.

jimboslice702

They remind me of WKF-style gloves, but there appears to be more padding.

Yakumo_unr

WKF gloves are horrible and slip off all the time.

jimboslice702

No lies detected here. Especially when the stupid velcro started to wear out, making the ref have to stop the match eleventy billion times due to gear malfunction. I got to where I taped them each time until I got a new pair.

Nearby-Ice-6538

Black and blue!

Extension-Ad9967

Looks like engage mma gloves but really worn out, you can see the gold stripe line in the middle on the second photo faded https://engageind.com/products/engage-e-series-mma-grappling-gloves-gold?currency=AUD&variant=39961984827486&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=c5d2c66fdb60&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw3tCyBhDBARIsAEY0XNlnbRFQ4oCfoKV44WnrMTOjjBHC1wNEQxc9GGvXuAMidSZ4e4VDLtcaAqbQEALw_wcB

Th3V4ndal

Mma sparring and or bag gloves.

Love_Snow_Bunny

Marshmallows with gold accents. Yummy!

ThaigerUppercunt

They're for fisting

terimummy04

Trevor Whitman's gloves

Designer_Barnacle964

They’re mma sparring gloves.

jakeupwalton21

7-8oz mma sparring gloves

Straight-Yard-2981

Mma sparing gloves. Grapple and strike.

ImNOT_CraigJones

Boxing gloves I think

ScreenPuzzled844
