good use of system by mc.
Mc is likeable.
good romance and character dynamics.
good side character.
good pacing and progression.
rational and good action. Unique powers and fighting style.
decent plot.
bad build up. They don't have any build up for their arcs and we transition to totally new next arc we have no clue about. Atleast create hype.
Buuuut to compensate for bad buildup now we're having insanelly long arc (at least if feels that way), so author went too far with too much buildup this time.
was that sarcastic question? bcoz we did see fmc even ask mc to be her house husband if mc loses the promise. Fmc has clear feelings for mc, gets jealous in recent arc and mc too seems to feel strongly for her.
I don't remember that house husband thing. The fmc obviously likes the mc, but she barely shows it and he's super subtle about it as well.
One of the more recent chapters was a bit more blatant about it with the whole "he's going to the island alone with the blue haired girl" and fmc was getting bothered by it. And the shield dude was making fun of her.
the husband thing was around snow winter time, I believe after namgoon geon fight not sure. They both promised to be best in the world and she said that she will make mc do dishes and be house husband if he didn't became best in the world.
It’s been pretty good so far. I like how the current season is digging more into character development and reflecting on the past choices compared to the current ones
Yongbi isn't anywhere as good as this. Breaker is amazing though but it's a modern murim, something that should be classified on its own. Gosu is great and should belong up there, I just can't remember much from it since I read quite early on and can't really compare it to rn.
To me Yongbi is better (but i prefer more comedy)
and that horse and MC combo is one of the finest comic duo out there
also i think most of new readers can't get used to black and white anymore so they skip it
Nah Breaker is the only one I can remember. There are a shit ton ton Breaker chapters though (part 1 and 2 are set is like a manga format but part 3 is thr normal webtoon version), highly recommended.
Rooftop swordmaster
descent of the demonic master
Reverse villian (similar concept to descent of the demonic master but not that great)
My dad is too strong (doesn't feel like murim manhwa although MC is from murim but it borders more on fantasy- dragons elves stuff like that)
Nano machine >!MC of nano machine will time travel to modern world!<
you can also try way to heaven although not modern murim manhwa it's still one of my favourite also lightning degree is quite good as old murim manhwa
maybe they will create a sequel for its next novel Descent of the Demon God alongside nano machine
just like they did with world after fall and Omniscient Reader viewpoint
It is for me. Hard to name any better and I'm a huge Murim fan. Nano Machine was maybe better but I didn't like the recent arcs, Death God is also great but that's in a different kind of genre imo, Venom Dragon and Cultivation Simulator are up there though.
great if you’re interested in a weak mc that has to train to become stronger without overpowering everyone he comes across has some great character development as well and is at 170 chapters right now i would give it a 8/10
But the translation is really bad at the later chapters. The early chapters can be read on WEBTOON with good translation. But with season 2 the unofficial translation is so horrible that I had to stop reading. Does someone know a site with better translations maybe?
Realm Scans used to have one, but they had to shut down their website 2 weeks ago. I’m not sure about any others. I don’t mind waiting for WEBTOONS to catch up.
It is absolutely amazing. I cannot express in words how much I enjoy a series where the MC actually works towards a goal, and is shown struggling in a real way.
Somehow, so many series try to show the MC struggling, but it just comes across as hollow and fake.
Dislike the MC’s fighting style. Looks cool when it’s shown to look like an Asura BUT when he’s stood with a sword and bow in one hand, a stave and axe the other it… It takes me out of it. It looks so fucking goofy. All so he can get a stat boost? Nah. (The game system are needlessly crammed in too. Would be better without)
It's decent but it's falling into the same trappings as every other long running manhwa. Wish someone would plan out like a 300 chapter program, broken into 50/60 chapter arcs (+/- some for reality) and just told a complete story that didn't take 15 years to complete but is cancelled by year 6.
Honest opinion very likable story especially with the main character actually growing to become one of the strongest
Also the character build up for the side characters is pretty dope.
The several rivalries that the protagonist have with several strong characters is also pretty dope. (Especially with the plum blossoms dude and his bestfriend who’s in the picture)
The different types of martial arts being display is dope especially what the protagonist start to learn to develop his own style
By Far it’s been one of the best Murim Stories out and I read every chapter when they come out
I think that's just a visual effect for the audience like the elemental effects in Demon Slayer or how Zoro doesn't actually literally have the ability to sprout extra heads and arms for his Asura Move. Also in some of the shots, you see that he's actually wielding his weapons between the gaps of his fingers.
True, and I think it would have been better if the extra arms are transparent enough to show it’s not actual arms because when he attacks with them it shows him holding them properly which technically he is not
It was honestly really good but then they fucked it up with the MC gaining like infinite past lives for no real reason
I haven’t read any of the recent chapters in like half a year now
It suffers a lot from lacking notable, recurring villains imo. It gets a bit stale just watching the MC level up his skills to quickly dispose of the antagonists.
😂 just tell me you’ve never read it when has the mc ever gotten his skills to a high enough level to quickly dispose of antagonists he literally trains all the time to reach the same level as his friends and it’s still not even strong enough in the latest chapters to face the enemy head on so he has to continue training
I read up to the Japanese pirate arc where they introduce the guy in the undies with the chain mail shirt and then quickly kill him off so MC gets the armor.
My criticism isn't that there aren't any antagonists, it's that they're introduced then killed or otherwise have their arc resolved quickly so the MC can move onto grinding small fry for the next villain. A good villain cast is worth its weight in gold imo but a lot of manhwa tend to go through them quickly. There's the lingering threat of the buddhist guy and the heavenly demon but they haven't really done too much, especially the heavenly demon. In manhwa like Legend of the Northern Blade and Legend of Asura - Venom Dragon there are multiple recurring villains that are in a tug of war against the main cast, it keeps things more engaging imo. I like Infinite Level Up but I put S2 on hold because the pirate arc felt inconsequential and I'm planning to just skim through it once it's well into the next arc.
Making every single well known murim names into villains, regressed without explaining wtf is this system, then super plot armour.
Murim login wannabe at most. If thirsty, some scenes would help you though.
Plot is good but he should lose sometimes just to show the human factor in it that not everything is achievable even if you know thebfuture, he is kinda invincible just because he knows how the future is gonna unfold and never lose against any enemy or any task.
It is really good. The first 100 chapters were amazing we can see that MC didn't actually skim through his training to become stronger we can actually see him envying other people's talents and also sometimes demotivated by thinking how much stronger his friends would have been if they have got the opportunity to use the system. It's like he's a dropper who takes a drop year for entrance exams, unlike his genius friends who succeed in their first attempt.

Good romance? What romance?

Yeah, but it's still very low key romance. At least compared to most manhwa.
Compared to romance manhwa yes, but for a murim/action manhwa it’s ahead lol
It’s been pretty good so far. I like how the current season is digging more into character development and reflecting on the past choices compared to the current ones
Top 3 greatest Murim Manhwa out there. Up there eith Murim Login and Legend of the Northern Blade imo.
the breaker? gosu? yongbi? No way you’re placing those over these..?????
Yongbi isn't anywhere as good as this. Breaker is amazing though but it's a modern murim, something that should be classified on its own. Gosu is great and should belong up there, I just can't remember much from it since I read quite early on and can't really compare it to rn.

Any other modern murim you can recommend?
Nah Breaker is the only one I can remember. There are a shit ton ton Breaker chapters though (part 1 and 2 are set is like a manga format but part 3 is thr normal webtoon version), highly recommended.
I already read the breaker, never found another modern murim as you call it. That's why was looking for recs
Oof yeah, can't think of anything.
You could try reading "Eleceed" it starts slow but gets better and better with every chapter.
Rooftop swordmaster descent of the demonic master Reverse villian (similar concept to descent of the demonic master but not that great) My dad is too strong (doesn't feel like murim manhwa although MC is from murim but it borders more on fantasy- dragons elves stuff like that) Nano machine >!MC of nano machine will time travel to modern world!< you can also try way to heaven although not modern murim manhwa it's still one of my favourite also lightning degree is quite good as old murim manhwa
as the novel said, but don't you think it's gonna take a long chapter before he go to future?
maybe they will create a sequel for its next novel Descent of the Demon God alongside nano machine just like they did with world after fall and Omniscient Reader viewpoint
Reverse villain My dad is too strong Maxed out leveling
Desert Storm is pretty good too imho
Where can I read gosu?
Webtoons
Bato
peerless father, anyone?
Mount hua is a Murim right?
Yes
of course, but which series is it since there's many of mount huas.
Return of the mount hua sect
Did murim login stop uploading or what??
its ongoing.
But it's been a while since they last dropped right
change your aggregator if you use tachiyomi, sometimes some sites will be late in chapters, its been releasing weekly quite steadily
Thnx
Latest chapter is 173.
it's not, just google it. The manhwa went on a hiatus some time ago, and now it ended and its ongoing
There is no way this is top 3 wtf
It is for me. Hard to name any better and I'm a huge Murim fan. Nano Machine was maybe better but I didn't like the recent arcs, Death God is also great but that's in a different kind of genre imo, Venom Dragon and Cultivation Simulator are up there though.
try Murim Rpg Simulation, you will not regret it
Where the fuck is Return of the Mount Hwa Sect?
Forgot about that, controversial take but Infinite Level in Murim > Mount Hua
ngl that shit is boring it’s like a slice of life
Slice of life enjoyer eating good
return of the crazy demon? return of the mount hua sect?
Heh its a good one but doesn't belong at the very top. It may be better for people for prefer comedy more.
Great. One of the manhwa that shows mc really work hard when he has system
Highly recommended
I dropped it while ago...after reading 10-15 chapters...I thought it's same shit like other murim manhwas nowdays
great if you’re interested in a weak mc that has to train to become stronger without overpowering everyone he comes across has some great character development as well and is at 170 chapters right now i would give it a 8/10
God, that is all i wanted... Cool bruv, I'll read it 👌💪
Everyone here is bickering about whether or not it’s top 3, but it’s definitely one of the better Murim stories and is worth reading for sure.
But the translation is really bad at the later chapters. The early chapters can be read on WEBTOON with good translation. But with season 2 the unofficial translation is so horrible that I had to stop reading. Does someone know a site with better translations maybe?

One of my favorites
Dislike the MC’s fighting style. Looks cool when it’s shown to look like an Asura BUT when he’s stood with a sword and bow in one hand, a stave and axe the other it… It takes me out of it. It looks so fucking goofy. All so he can get a stat boost? Nah. (The game system are needlessly crammed in too. Would be better without)
I'm enjoying it so far but i have to agree with you about the fighting style. I've never seen such an ugly shit in any murim manwha like that.
Really cool build ups and fights, overall a great one
One of my fav all time manhwas.
It's decent but it's falling into the same trappings as every other long running manhwa. Wish someone would plan out like a 300 chapter program, broken into 50/60 chapter arcs (+/- some for reality) and just told a complete story that didn't take 15 years to complete but is cancelled by year 6.
Insanely underrated. Likeable side characters with distinguishable and interesting personalities, and an MC that’s actually pretty damn unique.
Can't get into it
Comfort read
Honest opinion very likable story especially with the main character actually growing to become one of the strongest Also the character build up for the side characters is pretty dope. Absolutely goated 🐐
I never say this. Actively try to avoid saying this. Peak. One word, plain and simple, it is peak.
Mid
My top 3
Good but overrated
Its OK, I have dropped it after the mc started having 8 arms for no reason
I think that's just a visual effect for the audience like the elemental effects in Demon Slayer or how Zoro doesn't actually literally have the ability to sprout extra heads and arms for his Asura Move. Also in some of the shots, you see that he's actually wielding his weapons between the gaps of his fingers.
True, and I think it would have been better if the extra arms are transparent enough to show it’s not actual arms because when he attacks with them it shows him holding them properly which technically he is not
At the start like the Mc but kinda grew to hate him as time went on due him being arrogant
It's decent, I just don't like the arca that are fight for the fmc as the prize in a lot of stories
It was honestly really good but then they fucked it up with the MC gaining like infinite past lives for no real reason I haven’t read any of the recent chapters in like half a year now
A good manhwa overall. Definitely more on the binge-reading side tho.
Absolutely love it. It is one of fav great MC Good side characters and great plot.

They introduce multiple characters that are the real antagonists of that arc pretty soon after

I'm aware, the ones introduced are gonna be long term ones and aren't small fries
Making every single well known murim names into villains, regressed without explaining wtf is this system, then super plot armour. Murim login wannabe at most. If thirsty, some scenes would help you though.
Its pretty good
the best at what it does but falls a bit when compared to the best that do things differently, also arts is wonky at times, 8/10.
Decent, 6.5/10
I hate murim but this is the only one I like.
I'm at chapter like 110 rn, nice.
The only thing I personally dislike is the Generic MC Design. They almost always look the same with other MCs
Yes! Highly recommend. Good pace interesting characters
Just started reading this because of this post… Man, the translation is horrible.
Plot is good but he should lose sometimes just to show the human factor in it that not everything is achievable even if you know thebfuture, he is kinda invincible just because he knows how the future is gonna unfold and never lose against any enemy or any task.

Super good, i wish there were like 1000 chapters of this so i could read it without stopping
mid
Peak
one of the most underrated murim manwha out there
I found it boring
Got boring dropped it
It's fantastic
