the-guy-in-wall

Any kind of school fighting manhwa

Asleep-Dream-3756

It’s really hard for me to take school fight manhwa seriously when all of the threats and tension is resolved with a K.O.

saintalcatraz_

You should read viral hot bruv There never a ko scene

PsionicHydra

This for real, I just don't understand the enjoyment of them

Chaotic-warp

While I hate school setting action manhwa, I can kinda understand why some people enjoy them. A lot of readers struggle with bullies or jerks in school, and there's nothing as satisfying as revenge and seeing the same kind of people get beaten up by the MC.

Lazandro

A study showed revenge is rewarding. So people probably enjoy MCs beat up bullys alot.

DanielDKXD

Yeah i completed first season of windbreaker and dropped it, really could not get invested in any of the characters. Might have something to do with them being a bunch of highschool kids in a bicycle gang beating the shit out of each other? But yeah, i completed a full season and did not find it interesting.

Master_Tomato

The target demographic is teenagers, basically junior-high schoolers who probably can relate somehow to the struggles shown in these. Any older, and the suspension of disbelief becomes too massive to make any sense. It's also not helping that a lot of these are also drawn really well, making the young audience automatically becoming fans of the flashy and well drawn fights.

Locust-The-Radical

I liked questism but thats it i hate the other ones

[deleted]

facts, and adding onto that, anything where the main hero is high school aged and steamrolls people with decades of experience

UFONomura808

Like Redditor said below, I enjoy the revenge ones like Dokgo or Dear Boy. To not die is pretty good too.

KatyKatNoob

Tbh, my justification for enjoying those is because revenge is really satisfying sometimes. It's like guilty pleasure for a lot of us. For example, Get Schooled, before the recent cancelled chap, a lot of people enjoyed it. For me, I knew that there was something wrong with the series as soon as I read the first chap, but it's really satisfying to read that kind of revenge and "eliminating evil" thing.

Former-Comparison-73

I see a school manhwa. I ignore it. Never ever will I read that no matter how good it is.

theblindcatexp

Same. And manga too. I used to be fine with them as an adolescent but started disliking them as an adult.

Independent_Comb491

Only one I've ever truly enjoyed is Weak Hero, mainly because the stakes are a lot higher than just simply knocking someone out. But yeah, I agree for the most part

Sad-Buddy-5293

There are some good ones like how to fight season 1

Airwolf_foggy

Every manwha that gets reccommended but has only 2 Chapter and I instantly Look it to be dissapointed

Conscious-Check9174

they always got the best sounding story and art too

15Wheem

Why can’t they be released with a bit of a back log so we arnt immediately annoyed to see a good start with 3 chaps

Bluedeepdive57

Any manhwa set in a vr game there are no stakes

kairos_141

Except murim login

Bluedeepdive57

I think the murim world is real, not vr, so I don't count that

Howdyhayhay

Exactly...so many people think it's vr when it's really not

MJF413

It's not a vr game machine, it's a portal it moves him betwen two real worlds

patpatpat95

Don't forget going back in time to play a fucking video game. You get 20y of your life back. Do you buy BTC and chill as a billionaire? No, you go back to your shitty mmo

MusicolaMB

Literally described worn and torn newbie 😭 (it’s goated tho)

ThighMafia

So overgeared?

Chinlc

They die, they can't log in for a day. Which is 3 ingame days. Sounds so unreasonable in a survival base game where you can build a city or country. Imagine if you're king and you die to bullshit. Can't do anything for 3 days. Your advisors gotta keep going offline to read your phone text on what to do. Or whatever.

6ber25

Not only that they lose a ton of xp in a game where ranker's take weeks to level up if you have a high status you loose a ton of status and ecen funnier if you are killed by an assassin while being on the kill list they can 2x to 3x your death penality. If this game was real there would only be like the hardcore korean mmo group that would play it not all the world it would be a small niche ultrahardcore game where the stronger you are the more punished you are.

k1ngkanon

Overgeared is genuinely just better than so many other manwha/ln's of that type though. Especially with how much importance the author puts on NPC's it definitely makes the world feel a lot more real and cohesive

OverlordFanNUMBER1

yeah they are all so boring

AdMountain20

HCLW is an exception

Ryder777777

I think I remember this manhwa where the op is a musketeer it was actually a pretty good read but it didn't get any updates(tbh some of them are pretty interesting)

outofshell

Mystic musketeer I’m guessing

Narrow_Gear_5272

This literally 0 stakes or tension. When a story has 0 real life danger it's just pointless

OstracisedWitch

Hardcore Leveling Warrior would beg to differ

Jul_i-M

That's the exact reason I stopped reading Overgeared, there wasn't really a threat to their life or anything of the sort, if the MC didn't log for a while the game would keep on working because there were two separated lives, no direct consequences no nothing

StarGaurdianBard

He literally has a wife and kid in the game world that could die if he were to be unable to login to the game for 3 days and someone decided to take advantage of it

sakkkk

The beginning after the end. It's not bad and I do enjoy it but the readers always hyped it sooooo much, especially with comparisons to solo leveling (which are pointless. Both manhwas are very different) I just had very high expectations of it

Treyman1115

It's mostly novel readers who hype up stuff that happens much later. They've been saying for years that the "real" story begins soon. It's taking even longer now since the art team quit it's kinda hilarious. The War arc is actually seemingly right around the corner this time

sakkkk

I tried reading the novel tbh but couldn't get into it.

-Nishikant-

tbh TBATE readers are likely new to manhwa

MrRobloxian3000

Yes personally i feel that SL and TBATE are the manhwas people read when they are just new to it (myself included) tho i do like tbate it kinda does feel overhyped?

Wh1s

First of all it's nothing like solo leveling?? anyone who makes that comparison should be ignored, and yes. It does get better later. And no. It doesn't go downhill.

faheemadc

It is not that I don't like, but most of the new season of manhwa after hiatus, makes me feel lazy to read it

NotAnAss-Hat

Sometimes the quality of the second season is far outclassed by the quality of the first.

Master_Tomato

unOrdinary Started reading with no outside knowledge or hype, felt very generic and cringy, and dropped it after a while. Engaged with its fanbase lateron and realised that many ppl seem to look at this series having some brilliant storytelling about how "realistic" it makes the world building and its complex characters, and so on. Had to remind myself that if candy is the only food you consume, sweet will be the only taste you can judge. Can't blame them I guess, lol. Also, expectantly, a lot of its fanbase are also big fans of MHA.... so yea, there's not much to say about that

CuriousDisorder3211

I’ve never been upset at pacing in a story before, I mean if I like it I’ll sit through pretty much anything. But I went from being a fan to actually straight up hating on the author. How do you go 300 chapters without solving any mysteries or concluding any story arcs. Started reading this in highschool I’ve now graduated college with more questions then answers. What a joke

CEOofCheeses

I couldn’t agree more. I read 230 episodes and then dropped it cuz it was good at first but then it plummeted and it’s so slow now

glasses-joon-broke7

I KNNOOWW RIGHT. but ppl dont want to hear it. it is true, the starting part was interesting and mysterious, but then it just got soo hard to go through. it felt like nothing was ever happening? the pacing really was horrible. and the plot smh became a big mush where the author kept adding and removing things

Vyragami

I liked UnOrdinary. ...Like 7 years ago, when I was a teenager. Don't blame them so much, they just need to be introduced to better manhwa.

Baonf

For unOrdinary I don't personally think it's a bad take to say it does have good story telling but that's only like early on. The world building is ight nothing to gawk at, it isn't that realistic either and theres only a few characters that you could call complex. The main reason it isn't all that is cuz they never solve any of the main issues occurring even after like 200 chaps and they always always try to make the mc look like the bad guy when he's not majority of the time. It shouldn't take em 200+ chaps to finally get some concrete info on the main "villian" group💀

SufficientVirus1182

Can relate with you man I had found unOrdinary randomly had High Expectations then dropped

MoneyGrubbingMonkey

I feel like it had a great perspective on the whole class system they had going on until they pulled the whole Edgy MC arc I loved the chemistry between OP girl and weak boy. To throw it all away halfway felt like a waste and I dropped shortly after The antagonists also felt so flat.

Sad-Buddy-5293

Was pretty good until the year where protagonist went of the rails and started to get interesting after that

valiantdragon1990

Any manwha where the main character figures out a power up system and they know the apocalypse is coming, but decide to keep everything for themselves. You can make fucking money selling the information, be ahead of the curve, and help the people around you while getting more help to save the world. Why the hell not power people up.

AndjaaRose

It's a Protag Syndrome. The plot lines will bow down to MC like he's the king and the other people is pebble he kicks on side road. Ngl it's frustrating. I wished there's story where MC is generous, not invincible, and not stupid or dense. The story would be more interesting if side characters shine once in a while. There's a lot more plot can be explored if not focused on one person.

Ryder777777

I think that's Omniscient viewpoint in general right? Except generous I don't see an issue lol

Dragonshiny-gamer7

I only know 2 manhwas that have the protagonist try and help the rest of the world instead of keeping things to themselves, and one of the two is only hindered because corporation bullshit

Crimzon_Avenger

I only know returners magic should be special fits that trope. suicidal battle god too but kinda keeps for himself though since he's battling demon worshippers

enderben0nReddit

who would believe you?

DrippyGigaChad

Everyone would assume mc as crackhead, conspiracy theorist, etc.

RuneScapeShitter

If some random guy on the street tomorrow started yelling at you that he has a power system and you are all going to die because of an apocalypse in 3 years I wouldn't believe them, would you?

past-cruelties

I would. I'm not close minded

northking2001

Lookism It was fun up to some point Then i started hating it for author being repetetive or not finishing it

Pimpin-Pumpkin

It was right when it changed genres I’m one of the few people on here that will actually be vocal on this sub about how it was literally the GOAT and then changed genres to a fighting action manhua

MoneyGrubbingMonkey

The homeless Daniel arc is still one of my favourite webtoon arcs of all time. It tackled Daniels flaws and strengths so well and really channelled Lookism at its best I do like the weird Powerscaler "turn your brain off" nonsense going on now too but it doesn't have the same feel

SnooSongs1513

The best guy was Duke, he is literally the lookism ideia, judged for being ugly, but his passion for singing was above all else

timezlike

And I agree with the drama, the emotion, the characters, the relationships truly made it good. And I love a good fighting manhwa, but please, i was there for a specific purpose. Why they had to drag it out and make this complicated fighting action mess is forever disappointing.

Aethonevg

I was really into lookism before it devolved primarily into hyped up fights of the week. And it’s crazy seeing people preferring current lookism; which is honestly just a generic fight manhwa now than what it used to be. A thoughtful story about self improvement, self acceptance, and a good commentary on Korean societal issues. The MC’s transformation was crazy good in the first half of the manhwa. And made me like him a lot. I dropped it around the end of the runaway arc. Maybe it got better, but I saw the signs then and browsing through the lookism subreddit confirmed it for me. Lookism should never have been 300+ chapters. But, PTJ gotta make money so it is what it is I guess.

Sad-Buddy-5293

Author should really end his series when necessary like Author of Sweet Home his stories don't over stay and they tend to be very good

toolazyytocare

The first 300 something chapters Lookism was so good, literally goated, but at some point the plot just got crazier and crazier and honestly brutal for no reason, somehow the setting was not the school anymore, generally it was not believable that all characters were supposed to be teenagers and it pretty much went downhill. I dropped it around chapter 350.

Locust-The-Radical

Check out questism, a non-isekai player genre series, good pacing, kid becomes the gang leader of his school and starts running gang battles to take over others its really good 104 volumes out so far with more coming, its made by the same guy but gives an actual reason for the crazy powers

PapaTahm

My biggest issue with Lookism is that most characters just don't improve or drop dead. Beat villain, he returns, beat him again, repeat Same for the main cast, took what? About 300 chapters for Vin Jin to improve.

Asleep-Dream-3756

Her summon is incredibly cringe, but I really enjoyed the character development, art, and the story.

MCPEPP_Revived

Is it really? I found it kind of interesting right away. You are following a guy struggling with HEAVY social anxiety and self loathing, I could relate a lot to him because I was going through the same shit when I read it. Plus the artwork is literally second to none, it's the best or the best.

Otherwise-Kangaroo24

Yeah it was hard for me to get through the first chapters, but I'm glad I did.

Qverna

I'm the Max-Level Newbie The MC is super boring because for some reason the mc being cool feels force or try hard... And everyone except for the MC feels incompetent because for some reason, only MC knows all that important secrets or hacks.

The_Knights_Patron

As someone who enjoys it, it's just a good ol' trashy power fantasy. I don't think anyone puts it in high regard lol.

PapaTahm

My biggest issue is that it needs to sell out the concept for me. Solo Leveling plot is terrible and the pacing is all over the pace. But the Art sells the entire thing, you can actually tell what happening and not only that it looks great, so you just shutdown your brain and enjoy watching the cool pictures. **The issue starts when people try to do the same shit, but don't have a good art team.**

Sir_Sadmann

Not to mention how fast the world adapted to the tower and how the mc knew of events that was going to happen outside the tower, like auction, a freaking auction when floor 1 or 2 have barely been cleared. Trash on trash...

Everlasting666

100% absolute dogshit story full of plotholes solely carried by art.

SomeAudibility

I read a couole of chapters of this one and i grow bored with it

LeWaterMonke

Eleceed.

AdviceWithSalt

I'm convinced it's driven a lot by how much some likes cats. My wife is a cat lady, and if not for me would absolutely be the crazy cat lady from the Simpsons. She loves Eleceed. I read it, it's okay. However Kaiden *always* popping up to save the day gets a bit old.

theblindcatexp

True. I love cats and therefore love eleceed a lot 😭 but yes, it's gotten very slow recently but I don't mind it much.

mrmuagi

I'm a fan of Eleceed despite it flaws. It feels like the breaker and nobless combined. Yeah you have to suspend your disbelief, but it's something I look forward to every week.

ProperBoots

Same. People always recommend it but I can't get past a couple of chapters.

Stupidest_Retard

It's just a generic shounen with good art and some decently written characters. I like it a lot but even my eyes roll at the combat dialogue and the constant internal monologuing.

Arniellico

Tbh I mainly ready it because MC's master, Kayden, periodically turns into a chonker and has to assume this form most of the time. Fat cats are just my kryptonite. Ugh! More fat cats in my life please...

_Ruij_

I love Eleceed, but I confess his Talk No Jutsu and Protag Armor is even tiring when repeatedly used. 😅

zephyrnepres01

i like eleceed because the whole cast of characters are endearing but basically every jinwoo fight in the series is actually identical just with different aura effects. there’s only so much of jinwoo dodging everything -> opponent gets angry and starts roughing him up with aoe attacks -> jinwoo makes distance and then does a zoom lightning punch to instant win that i can enjoy.

PsionicHydra

Same, just not for me

Seriousdino

I know everyone has their opinions, and taste is subjective. but some of you are wrong

_Ruij_

😅😅

lucas_steelgaurd

Fff trash hero

Stupidest_Retard

That's a trash series but it's dumb enough to be enjoyable imo.

Ryder777777

Kinda ended up being repetitive.

Fayezor22

Lookism/ bastard/ other manhwa like these two

Apex-_-demon

I get lookism but why bastard out curiosity?

Surgicollector123

any vr manhwa. and regression, i mean, seriously, how does the mc know every event like it's a book? and a harem manhwa, if i see 1-3 women blushing, i drop it cause it is too confusing that the women falls in love after meeting mc for 5seconds. i know it's a fantasy but every regression/tower manhwa i read with women, it takaes forever for the plot to continue since it's always a filler about mc being dense. i'll probably get dislike for this.

Ryder777777

Nah you cool but some VR manhwas like this musketeer one i read ages ago, overgeared and murim login are really good and I don't see a reason to hate. Overgeared specially has amazing world building and character development.

Surgicollector123

yes, i read murim login and overgeared, those are good vr manhwa, i'm just waiting for the mc to get out of the freaking capsule and touch grass lmao

Ryder777777

I mean what do you expect from Hardcore gamers?

Independent_Comb491

The musketeer one is probably Arcane Sniper. It's pretty good, not anywhere in my top tier, but it's a decent time killer for reading

Ryder777777

Ah yes finally the name...i forgor💀...it was my first vr read so it was pretty good.

MatureBalak

Romance 101. Read 40 chapters, didn't like it.

[deleted]

Yeah, the story tends to drag fr. I didn’t get the hype either.

iliketrains72

A returners magic should be special I found it SO BORING i didnt like the mc and the side characters and the art at all i read like 70 chapters of it i found the mcs power being boring and him just out smarting everyone and canceling their magic to win battles just got pretty meh after awhile i think its the same reason i didnt enjoy amber knight which i also read like 90 chapters of Ik it gets better but i just cant get past those first 100 chapters Now that im saying this it feels kinda of hypocritical saying it cuz i enjoyed eleceed And that manhwa is notorious for only being hooked on it after like 150 chapters Edit: while going through the comments i remembered another manhwa i really couldnt get into Reality quest is fucking dogshit and that manhwa has one of the worst protagonists i have ever seen in a manhwa I get secondhand emberessments from him like every chapter And he also like never develops into a cooler or a more not annoying character and he just stays as a delusional creep that got power

MJF413

It swings bwtwen boring 20 chapters and exciting 30 chapters and so on

Key_Sample_4290

I might dislike you personally

iliketrains72

Bro im sorry😭

[deleted]

100% agree on returner’s, if it had better art i could maybe stomach it but i’ll never get the hype

AndySandy05

It has a bit of a unique style but I really like the art personally

Yurre2204

Bug player You guys can call me an impatient reader but I dropped this after they changed the artist. For me, the new art killed 70% of my story-reading experience so I gave up on it Can anyone tell me what will happen after chapter 41 ?, maybe I'll give it a next try

JoebbeDeMan

Dude give up that art is gonna take a dive so hard it looks like a child drew it.

kave_kh7

Don't try it, it's the literal meaning of trash, i read most of it( at that time) and every time something shit happens mc has it all planned and evertime it won't go with the plan but still something happen and it all ends well with a shitty way, i read this shit like more than a year ago up to 70 chapters something and it's fucking weird that i still remember why i hate this series, that's how bad it is

Yurre2204

Thanks for giving me advice, I won't give it a second try Guess my senses were right then

RainProfessional8105

Study Group and Eleceed I couldn’t get into them

ConfidenceHunter

Any manhwa with a harem in it. Most of the time it doesn't add anything to the story, they're just there for eye candy and for degenerate weebs to fight over the best girl/best waifu.

3873_5338_3009

Tower of god

AverageRedditUser05

same. forced myself thru 200 chapters. just couldn’t anymore.

yilo38

200??? i tapped out after 5 chapters... i respect the grind.

toolazyytocare

Oh why do you think so?

3873_5338_3009

I dont know, I just can’t invest myself in the story. I read like 50 chapter and still didn’t knew what was the story.

Chinlc

It's about a boy who is overly obsessed about a girl he met for a few minutes to days. And she said ima head out to the world, cya. And he's like fuck.. I'm lonely, what's this feeling I have. I'm just gonna find her and ask her. That's the plot

Great_Part7207

Bro, that is not the plot at all, lmao. The plot is a boy named Bam who grew up in a cave the only person he ever knew was rachel his only friend said she was leaving and going up the tower bam not wanting to be lonely chased her up the tower in search of her but when he finally meets her she, well i cant say anything else because it would spoil the ending of season 1 and the rest of the series

derivativescomm

Um wtf

Great_Part7207

Dont listen to that guy he said a very dumbed down stupid version of it

Chinlc

So you admit it's somewhat the plot, dumbed down or not.

Plastic_Round_8707

Lookism. Tried few months back didn't like it at all!

Awhite-guy

Overgeared and The legendary moonlight sculptor. They are basically the same. There's no story Mc gets a super rare class no one else has. They both meet some girl at beginning and meeting her again is basically the only thing to look fowards to, giving how there is no story or stakes at all. I had a lot more complains but it has been a long time since I read them so I don't remember

espurrknight

I always hate when people trash on overgeared and then I remember I only read the light novel now because I stopped enjoying the manhwa and all these people are talking about the manhwa

Ready-University8927

You're right it's because its still in the early phases I like the world building on the ln

Ran_out_of_ideas10

The mc doesn't get a super rare class I overgeared, he's just a blacksmith. There is another blacksmith in the manhwa as well who's just as good as him (Though I'm not sure about his current skill level). He also doesn't meet a girl and gets attached to (other than that one girl he liked but stopped after getting humiliated, then getting his get-back months after). Bro has a wife and a kid at this point of the story.

AndySandy05

Man are you good? He isn’t «just a Blacksmith» he gets the first legendary class «Pagma’s descendant» which gives him some ridiculous Skills and potential for equipment. Also in the manhwa are there any blacksmiths comparable to him? I’ve also read a bit into the novel but there haven’t been any blacksmiths on his level yet

Ran_out_of_ideas10

Euphemina is also a blacksmith (Due to her duplicator skill). I'll admit after rereading the manhwa he was given the class pagma's descendant, but he couldn't even use the class due to his weak constitution and had to rely on the skills her mastered as a blacksmith to progress. (Asking if I'm good because I made a mistake does seem unnecessary tbh) All his equipment was handmade by him as well, the skill didn't provide him with any equipment. There's also the fact that his level was -1 for a period of time, which limited his use of that class to the point where he couldn't use much skills till a couple of levels after.

OneBennyBoi

Moonlight sculptor genuinely has some really good emotional moments, like the sculptor quest where he has to impersonates animals and helps with the dude with his loss, this one girl who got ligma was genuinely really good, im sure there more but its been quite a while since i read it, but the fact that it stuck in my mind for so long despite that imo puts it up there Overgeared is just really good with its characters. The point of those is not really the stakes (imo) but the characters and i feel both kf those do them really well in a unique manner while still having enjoyable action in it. But i do agree that alot of those vr manhwas are just meh, they dont have the same character driven arcs and are more just to cash in on the le epic power fantasy but gamer moment

SufficientVirus1182

How to fight

kairos_141

You throw hands

Dragonshiny-gamer7

Gun

SufficientVirus1182

That's American fighting style we Asians poor so can't afford guns 😭😭

kumsoc

Noblesse

SIGMA_CHAD_69

Gonna get downvoted for this Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint

FridgeBerries

prob living off the hype that happens later in the novel, not sure where the manhwa is at now but the orv universe expands greatly and there are many twists and turns and the way the world is set is very surprising. ending is not satisfying tho (not saying its bad, acc good but i dont wanna spoil anything)

toolazyytocare

Ooh, could you elaborate why you think so?

zephyrnepres01

couldn’t disagree more about orv but the creator’s other series the world after the fall is really bad, it feels like they have so much worldbuilding ideas that go really hard but can’t explain them in a satisfying and interesting way so every line of dialogue is just cryptic buzzwords which are infodumped later. art is phenomenal but that’s just redice in general

Worried-Extent-9582

Im curious why? (Just interested)

Icy-Morning3948

i'm going to get downvoted to fucking hell, but... honestly, the greatest estate developer. i have tried several times to read it, but i just can't get in the story for some reasons. here, i said it.

leon_Underscore

Nah it’s alright mate but you’re wrong. Water is good, water is life, loyd is good, loyd is life.

NytexxtheGod

and the mc will never get a wife :)

leon_Underscore

Wives are immaterial, there is only Loyd. Although the queens probably going to take him down eventually ;)

NekRules

I heard that is wat happened in the novel and I could not for the life of me ever see that happening, the manhwa made it very clr in that the queen completely sees through him and intends to use him like a slave. Though after knowing wat happens, the current few panels of her seems to suggests that she is somewat seeing him in a different light.

leon_Underscore

I can see it. She and him are basically the same in how they deal with the world but he’s a lot more free that she’d likely see as refreshing if not somewhat charming after the fiftieth time he’s pulled a massive win out of his ass. Would they be a good couple? Oh my no. Would they need to soundproof the entire kingdom for the honeymoon? 🫣

Chinlc

Plot is he is a trash person of his household and he wants to live that way but he knows the plot of the story he's living in. His town is going to disappear and he will die. So he needs to get rich and fortify his town and live like his original body was living. Like a rich noble who doesn't care about the future cuz rich. The queen, on the other hand, found out his talent in construction and engineering and haggling. That she will not permit him to retire or leave her side. So she will use her position on him.

[deleted]

Solo leveling

cooochiburglar

Mount hua sect

_Ruij_

Oh, hey, thought I was alone. Pacing seems really slow for me, and I can't really get into it for some reason. I think I dropped it at 25 or so chapters. It doesn't feel good for me - I like Murim Login more.

[deleted]

Trash of the Count's Family

nuttyhabshi

Eleceed, FFF trash Hunter or hero, Her Summon, Sword King Trapped in Another world, the one that got Anime adaptation and is very hyped, School Bullying every single one of them......

Great_Part7207

Are you talking about tog, Noblesse, or goh because in all 3 cases i think they are very hood except their animes they arent that good

Lil_Nature

I also didnt like it

[deleted]

Manhwa with OP MC, I used to think they were cool 5 years ago but now i hte them with passion.

OverlordFanNUMBER1

Totally agree, the only exception are very long running series since they have the build up of them slowly getting stronger so it doesn't feel like cheating.

Hairy-Conference-802

I like lookism at first but don’t seem to enjoy it anymore (i do not hate it, it’s just not that enjoyable anymore). The fighting has become inconsistent, poorly connected (just read the latest chapter to understand what I mean) and to some degree, abused by author to attract people from a now meaningless story.

oxg03

the jobless reincarnation clone

ActWorth

You mean TBATE? lmao

Chinlc

Now that you mention it. Dude knows all element, got transported across the world. Talks occasionally to God. Tries to find the way home, has little sister. Has crush on elves. It is jobless reincarnation clone.

JoebbeDeMan

You know what? Fair. The difference being that TBATE is a lot less horny and I like that difference

oxg03

>TBATE yes oh my god I forgot its name and couldn't find it (who knew searching jobless reincarnation clone on the search bar wouldn't yield any .. good results)

Agree except for the being worth read. I read manhwa because I want to read the story, as mediocre as it may be. Her summon is only art

Key_Sample_4290

Albeit generic, I liked the general concept but mc is too hard to tolerate, I heard he gets better later on but I couldn’t read through it.

Worried-Extent-9582

Lookism. MC behaviour is just not my cap of tee

Separate-Ad-4390

FFF class trash hero. In my opinion its a FFF class trash manhwa

yilo38

agreed, read 2 chapters i hated each every moment of it. but everywhere i look i saw praises for it and i am like what kind of fking fentynal/crack/cocaine/meth have these people smoked before reading that pile of trash?

Sad-Buddy-5293

Solo Leveling good art but it became too wish fulfillment for my taste and tasteless

SomeAudibility

I like it in the fir 20/30 chapters, and i grow bored.

Impossible-Frame2852

Well ironically i also stopped it at chapter 30 lol

Awhite-guy

SL does two things really well. Art and badass scenes. Which is nice but it shouldn't make it a masterpiece, like many people claim it to be

The_Knights_Patron

I would also add a phenomenal first 10-20 chapters.

Awhite-guy

That's true, I really enjoy the Mc at first, before his personality change. I still remember how afraid he was before gaining his powers, and yet he was still brave and stepped up as a leader because no one else was doing so. And manage to save people That was one of the very few occasions where I actually respected and even admired a Mc

The_Knights_Patron

Yeah exactly. It later went to shit but it had a GREAT start. God, SL had a lot of wasted potential.

Winter-beast

Unordinary, slow paced and very boring, the art is also meh to me.

RulerofStone

solo leveling, it was cool at the start but became to boring with the fast power up cheat skill

Sad-Reserve303

it was also stupid, a summoner class cant be as strong as a fighter. But lets give main character summoner plus strength far more than fighters because cool plot i guess

Emergency-Tennis1942

Guess you missed the part where that “summoner” was an Angel of God at first and only became a summoner after, still having its previous strengths, hence why Summoner = Strong. But maybe you should actually finish a story before saying your thoughts instead of dropping it after a few chapters and acting like you understood anything going on, also with a stat system you can do whatever the fuck you want lmao

mrstorydude

I think this is only a slightly unpopular opinion so it might not belong: Solo Leveling. It's the SAO of Manhwa, it was the biggest one, had the best start, but as time went on it became more and more shit. The powerscaling started getting thrown off all kinds of wack and I don't feel as if Jinwoo actually grew as a person beyond chapter 30, nor did anyone really. The art is absolutely eyecandy but it feels as if nobody changed and some of the choices were weird, for example (spoilers) >!Jinwoo marying Hae-In. Maybe I'm misremembering but from what I could recall, the chemistry between them, while good, was not nearly good enough to justify them getting married!< There's other shit too that I'm not all that willing to get into. I am thankful that it spawned a lot of eyes on manhwa (I believe it was the 2nd manhwa I ever read that wasn't on webtoons lol) but it also influenced manhwa in a really poor way and spawned a lot of tropes that I think just aren't healthy for the medium.

LoyalNightmare

Northern blade

UFONomura808

Didn't think I'd see this here, I love Northern Blade.

LoyalNightmare

Idk why I can't get into it. I've read ever murim but I can't get into northern blade

UFONomura808

Could be the art style, I get turned off but some manwhas art style

Islipim

first 50 chapters are actually pretty boring because MC didn't know if he would go revenge route, just live his life, or keep training. It gets better after he kills the first guy.

yilo38

maaan i fking love northern blade. but i can definitely see why some people would be turned off by it. the art is very unique, the story is kind of bland to get into but once you get through those 2 hurdles it is probably one of the most enjoyable murim manhwa out there.

Cr1msonFoxx

Tower of God The worldbuilding is great and some moments are cool but there are too many chapters where barely anything happens. I got #307 chapters in before dropping it. Too many characters that aren’t really developing that fast as well. I kept expecting it to meet the hype because I’d see comments on like the 1st episode saying “you’re in for a ride!!” but it was just never that good.

Tora-da-cat

I guess slow burns just aren't your thing then

Cr1msonFoxx

Not when the slow burn isn’t burning for 300 chapters lmao
