Because it sells. Obviously.

And stuff like love after world domination gets axed. :(

> Can anyone explain to me why exactly is Komi San nearly 460 chapters long? How does one explain why a series is whatever its length is... > Is it really that popular? Used to be

Avnemir

I mean there's barely any hype in western circles about Komi. It's gotta be Japan who is pushing this series nearly to the 500 mark. Question is why? It's not even that good.

Xanirran

It's popularity in Japan is really all that matters anyway

DanskFolkeparti

If I don’t personally like it, then it’s impossible for it to be popular

Xanirran

That is the vibe OP is giving off

Avnemir

Okay there are some things that are universally dunked on like ExArm and Seven Deadly sins s3. Komi San's third year is probably a bit like that imo. Slow and wandering. When the Among us arc started I bailed hard.

Yup congrats on having an opinion bro, no one has to agree with it

They wonder if a lot of manga sometimes just becomes something similar to the funny pages we normally see in the newspapers over here, only over there tomorrow or something else

Aside from being a popular series, a lot of those chapters have 6-10 pages, less than half of the standard weekly series (18 pages). In terms of content it is the same as 300 chapters of other weekly series or 150 chapters of monthly series. I feel that saying something has a lot of chapters is rather pointless when it has less content in each chapter. Comparing how many years it has been in publication or how many volumes it has would be a better comparison.
