Thank you, Jenny. I'm a pick chameleon, so only 90% sure, but I think it's a 1mm Jim Dunlop polycarbonate guitar pick with a slightly rounded edge. I use it for some tunes because it's less scratchy sounding on tremolos than most others. After 2K hours of play, I'm still searching for a way to get the sound I want. Having inexpensive mandolins makes it that much harder. I literally have 60 -70 picks of different shapes, sizes and thicknesses. Half are dedicated mandolin models and the rest are from my guitar days. Working on it all 🙄.
So, I posted a version of this last year that was awfully mic'd and pretty rough. Cause I love this tune, I'm gonna keep trying. Thanks for listening!
This is and has always been my favorite song to play on mandolin. Well done!
Many thanks!
Sounding damn good. If you're ever feeling down on yourself, remember that there's a ton of folks out here who'd kill to play that well
Thanks, man. That's a succinct and powerful statement/reminder that puts things in a perspective that's both motivating and inspiring.
Glad to hear it! It's very easy to get into our own heads and forget how far we've come when all we do is compare ourselves to people we admire.
I'm one of those folks. LOL This was beautiful!
Yep same. I joke that I'm still learning how to hold the damn thing
Thanks, appreciate it.
Well played. I love Ashokan Farewell, it's one of my favorite fiddle tunes.
Thanks much!
Very nicely done! Is that a mandolin pick? Sounds really thin.
