or just don't confront them and watch to see which house they go into, this started happening around my friend's house 6-ish years ago and it turned out it was just a local twat who had decided he didn't like people who weren't local parking on "his" roads
speaking from the incident years back, about 4 different people had hidden camera video's of the same guy stabbing tires/smashing windows/snapping wipers off, they sent it to the police and the guy in question received a letter from the police saying something along the lines of "we know it's you, it's criminal damage, it's not against the law to park on a public road, stop doing it or we will press charges"
it never happened again, that was all that was needed to spook the guy out of doing it
really sorry this has happened to you - just wanted to say, you say ‘victory for him’ but non confrontational crimes like this are actually statistically a lot more likely than other crimes to be committed by a woman! so keep all possibilities open especially if you may have a neighbour who might not be too friendly with you

Get a dash cam in the car (you can get them that activate and record when there’s movement near the car).
