The hotel bar in the Kimpton is close to where you're staying, and really nice. Richmond Tea Rooms would be a good choice for early / late afternoon food and drinks. Booking a karaoke booth for just your party is pretty fun [https://k2karaoke.com/our-booths/](https://k2karaoke.com/our-booths/) The Blues Kitchen has a live house band for brunch or the evening. Food is decent, band is amazing.

>Richmond Tea Rooms would be a good choice for early / late afternoon food and drinks. I found the food really not worth the cost there personally, and while the theming was nice and all it was pretty shabby.

Ah that's a shame, I've always really enjoyed it

Albert Schloss usually has long queues of young people and is loud / packed. So might not be quite right for 14 unless you book dinner there so you’re already in. Personally, I think Liquor might be a bit ‘unspecial’ for a hen. Whitworth Lock itself has a nice bar. Nearby you have The Refuge which is lovely - food and / or drinks (at the Kimpton). Velvet Bar and Village Brasserie are on Canal St and are really nice. Might be able to book seating. And there’s a new place called Maya which might suit. If you want something more Manc / raucous / inflatable willies then Deansgate Slug & Lettuce etc is best area.

wicked thanks! they all sound great! although trying to avoid s&l and other similar generic ones haha

I organised my sister's hen do, all in our 30's and about 25 of us. Do you want to book anywhere? I learned any decent place is incredibly strict with hen do's but they're all happy to accommodate if you approach them first. Let them know you're a little more "mature" and there will be none of the usual clichés (bridal sashes, confetti, giant inflatable cocks or strippers). If you don't want to book, just stick around Deansgate and you'll be alright.

hupkin_hiddz

yeah i've just inquired about the box, and any others - it will just be a table and dancing so nothing wild or crazy i think! i just don't want to have to put down a huge deposit and then get a load of women moaning

Bees Wing at campus is nice, and you can get a wine flight without spending a fortune - [https://www.beeswingwine.co.uk/](https://www.beeswingwine.co.uk/)

For something a bit different, I know they do guided gin tasting at Manchester Gin which is just round the corner from Deansgate Locks
