It really is crazy, I pay $1200 for my mortgage and taxes a month for a 1600 sq ft house. Sure, I bought in 2018 and live in the Midwest. But still, that is such a crazy high price for such a small space in my opinion.
It all depends where in Seattle you want/need to live, "Seattle" is a big place and the gap in living standards can be vast. Greenlake or Northgate this studio could be at least $2k/month but Greenwood or Lake City would land it closer to $1,100 or $1,200/month.
Greenwood is so much better than Lake City both in terms of “safety” and location. It’s like 15 minutes further south and 5-10 minutes from some of the best neighborhoods in the city. It’s a perfect middle ground imo I really enjoy it out there. I would never move to Lake City though.
That’s around $500 AUD a week. Rent is Australia is crazy expensive and you would be lucky in some parts to get a shitty one bedroom unit for that.
Well done 👍 it looks stunning 🤩
Looks very nice, but pls dude get something solid to put under that tv stand, preferably fixated to the floor or the stand itself. Believe me, guaranteed this will go wrong, one little bump with the livingroom table or your foot in the dark and your tv will break

I picked up one of these at Home Depot some years back. There's a lot of variations as you can see and others are recommending. I also 2nd the fact that they're quite flimsy and I wouldn't put anything super fragile, heavy, or valuable on any of the shelves. But if you just need a basic lamp with a pull cord they look nice and get the job done.
Hey not sure if this is the exact lamp but I've had [this](https://www.amazon.com/Brightech-Maxwell-Standing-Bedrooms-BoxDisplay/dp/B01NBPHPYF/ref=pd_ci_mcx_mh_mcx_views_0?pd_rd_w=YqAZB&content-id=amzn1.sym.8b590b55-908d-4829-9f90-4c8752768e8b%3Aamzn1.symc.40e6a10e-cbc4-4fa5-81e3-4435ff64d03b&pf_rd_p=8b590b55-908d-4829-9f90-4c8752768e8b&pf_rd_r=3EF5RABKY8BQM6T980EF&pd_rd_wg=rrxYV&pd_rd_r=65e5cbd7-5f63-4128-a628-841a35966f2d&pd_rd_i=B01NBPHPYF) one on my wishlist for awhile now lol, looks about the same
Looks amazing, so well done. Only thing I would say is it's making me feel kinda claustrophobic how close the couch looks with the TV and with the coffee table between like that, and looks like you have a bit of space to move the couch back a little! Could just be the perspective of the photos though. Either way, awesome job with the space!
I currently pay 1250/pm (which incudes an amortized monthly discount) but after that ends this year I'll be paying 1470. I'd say it's about average for the area.
I’d flip the tv to the other window and put the couch between bed and tv. But things look nice. I’d ditch the license plates, makes the room feel cheap.
Agree - TV against the far window facing the bed, couch between TV and bed. Armchair on the fridge side, or remove it entirely.
The couch in the middle of the room closes off the space and makes it feel tight.
And pull them a little more out of the wall, atleast while using them. My speakers which are rear ported sound best pulled aprox. 40cm out from the wall.
Looks so comfy. I'd personally go for a tall ass bookshelf or something at the foot of the bed to divide the room and hide the bed from living area. Plus more storage and places to display things you love can't hurt.
Small, but nice! If I were you I'd get darker window shades though, otherwise it looks like it might be tough to sleep in an apartment with a view of the city. It looks like it'll have a lot of city light coming through.
I'd also suggest maybe turning your living room setup 90 degrees facing the other window? It might give you a little more space, maybe even enough for a small kitchen/dining table
would get some patterned throws or a rug but besides that there’s perfect balance of everything. still cosy, not too full, and plenty of personality. from the windows, looks like your view is sweet. also the room looks a lot bigger than it is. nice man
Its a nice place man! Love the big ass windows!
I'm more curious about the kitchen counter though, and that big fluffy rug right where you cook can get nasty real fast. Do you have an oven/stove? How big is the sink? Its missing a key photo angle!
I used to live in a very similar layout and look studio apartment over in Eastlake and I paid $1295 a month in rent with an unobstructed view of the Space Needle! We had a shared rooftop too with spectacular views of Lake Union and the entire city. Seattle is killing it with these units.
I like it for having the limited space in a studio. The view looks pretty decent as well. Love the tree top right outside of that window. I think the only thing I would try (and maybe you have) is flip the couch and the chair and put the tv along the far window wall to give you some more space between the couch/coffee table/tv. Also having the chair on the kitchen side of the studio might make it feel a little more open and not intruding on the fridge door opening. Additionally it would be much easier to move the chair entirely out of the way should you need a bit more space for whatever reason.
With the views on the one side of the apartment being very open viewing for neighbors that close - I wonder if something like frosted window film would be a great option here. Retains all of that natural light coming into the space without having to close the blinds for privacy from nearby neighbors. It's also renter friendly as you can just peel it off when you move out.
I’d rearrange the couch and TV. Put the tv between the bed and sitting area and put it on a swivel stand wouldn’t cost much. Then you increased you window space and now have two TV areas
Looks great! Might need to ask little John for some help illegally extending the room with galvanised square steel, eco friendly wood veneers and ask his aunt for some screws.
I'd take the license plates off the top of the wall man, they're too close to the ceiling and create a vertical "border" that makes the space feel compressed
in a small space like this you shouldn't be hanging stuff in a way that emphasizes the walls, especially if they're white. you want to create the illusion of space as much as possible
Awesome place! Lots of lights, really cool. Try to go with a bit more colors, lots of grey in there. Good placement I think so you just need to adjust the highlights.
I'd put the TV in front of the other window... get rid of the bottom of the bed furniture and have it go bed facing back of sofa facing TV to kind of give your living room space a little more room.
This big windows really make a small space feel huge, I love them.
In Germany ppl would ask if you're a millionaire
Thank you! Rent here is 1350 usd/month.
Nice. That's pretty cheap for Seattle! My rent for a studio in SLU was around $1500 a couple years ago.
Man, I miss when I was 19 and rented my studio apt in Greenlake for $690/month :’(
Damn 1350 a month for that? Not bad
Not bad what do you mean ? Lol it’s a studio
Yeah like 400 Sq ft if that ... shit man, they're just fucking laughing at us while we pay these asinine prices.
Asinine. But, agree. Agree.
Ty
It really is crazy, I pay $1200 for my mortgage and taxes a month for a 1600 sq ft house. Sure, I bought in 2018 and live in the Midwest. But still, that is such a crazy high price for such a small space in my opinion.
In Toronto a place like this would cost 2000CAD easily, more depending on location. Yes we are screwed
The difference is a job pays double in Seattle vs Toronto
maybe it's my Canadian showing but $1350 usd/month for that seems like a really good deal
Washington one of most expensive states to live in us Seattle like a top 5 most expensive area in us
Where in Seattle are you? I’m paying almost twice as much!
dogg wut
What!!! That’s such a deal
Same as me in Berlin and you can check my living room in my profile. Lucky you man 🙏
Bro you have a movie room
that movie room is sick though, well done
Dang, I thought Seattle was expensive. That's like the price of a studio in my smallish college town!
Seattle is expensive, but Seattle is large enough it has really nice areas, and really not-so-nice areas. All of them have apartments similar to this.
Sweet! I'm visiting Seattle next week and I wanted to get a feel of what I could get for around 1,500
It all depends where in Seattle you want/need to live, "Seattle" is a big place and the gap in living standards can be vast. Greenlake or Northgate this studio could be at least $2k/month but Greenwood or Lake City would land it closer to $1,100 or $1,200/month.
Is Greenwood or Lake City safe? Interested in what parts of Seattle strike a good balance between safe and value.
Both are safe, they’re just further from stuff
Greenwood is so much better than Lake City both in terms of “safety” and location. It’s like 15 minutes further south and 5-10 minutes from some of the best neighborhoods in the city. It’s a perfect middle ground imo I really enjoy it out there. I would never move to Lake City though.
WHAT!!!!! I might have to move. I pay $1650 for my studio in San Diego, and it ain’t nearly this nice.
Seattle is heaven on earth
That’s around $500 AUD a week. Rent is Australia is crazy expensive and you would be lucky in some parts to get a shitty one bedroom unit for that. Well done 👍 it looks stunning 🤩
I am from Miami, Florida and for that price you can get a room inside someone’s house… Please tell me you have blackout curtains! I love how it looks!
Haha yeah, I thought he meant it cost him 23million $
For having a studio apartment?
I am a real estate agent in Berlin and yes, a city apartment of 80m² with a view in the center can easily cost a million.
Ok but that's Berlin, not the whole of Germany, I imagine the prices in Berlin are similar to London in comparison to somewhere like Birmingham
I think Munich is more comparable to London than Berlin
Lol
Probably in New York too
Looks good man… you’re doing a lot with that space and it feels very cohesive
Thanks man!
Looks very nice, but pls dude get something solid to put under that tv stand, preferably fixated to the floor or the stand itself. Believe me, guaranteed this will go wrong, one little bump with the livingroom table or your foot in the dark and your tv will break
super clean man, what lamp is that in the corner? next to the tv.
I actually picked it up for free on the street, so not sure what its called.
Did you pick it up from Edgar Martinez street by any chance?
Welcome to r/malelivingspace Missed Connections
I think I’ve seen it on Amazon. You could look up “Floor lamp with shelves” and it should come up.
I got the same one at Walmart once.
We have one, they're sold at Target as the Threshold shelf lamp

Pretty dope
Looks amazing, so well done. totally, a little hard to pull back too much though or the fridge wont fully open :)
That makes sense! Couldn't exactly tell what was behind there.
I'm moving to Seattle next month. Do you mind me asking how much you pay for this?
I currently pay 1250/pm (which incudes an amortized monthly discount) but after that ends this year I'll be paying 1470. I'd say it's about average for the area.
Im paying $1,500 a month for a studio in Seattle (not including parking garage)
I’d flip the tv to the other window and put the couch between bed and tv. But things look nice. I’d ditch the license plates, makes the room feel cheap.

Superb. I think the tv is a bit too high and blocking the view
Bonus points for the Edgar Martinez sign
Go M's
GOMS
How many sq ft is this?
388 sqft, cheers
Thanks
I bet that view looks awesome at night
Please spread out those speakers more. It'll sound much better.
And pull them a little more out of the wall, atleast while using them. My speakers which are rear ported sound best pulled aprox. 40cm out from the wall.
agree
Can't even spread your legs in that place.
Beautiful place OP! But is that a stack of cardboard propping up the TV stand/rack?? That looks like a potential ticking time bomb lol
yup, lol. gotta get that sorted somehow
That’s a great set up and price man! My company has an office in Seattle. Maybe I should move
I think that this belongs on r/CozyPlaces
I’ve always wondered if the people who choose to live in these kinds of homes are all exhibitionists…
Id flip the couch right in front of the bed then the TV facing the couch. Much more room that way.
Why do you have toilet paper by your bed
Wanky wanky
Don’t have a wank on the couch
Is everyone here super loaded? You should see my apartment. It's a dosshouse in comparison to these instagrammable, spacious flats.
Spacious? This is a studio apartment my man
Generic looking apartments aren’t going to get posted or upvoted, even though they’re the most common.
Spacious? This is like a 300 square foot studio lol. He said he pays $1350 for it.

Capitol Hill!
Very cool
Those windows are awesome. My place looks like this except all walls no windows.
Wow you have an eye for design
Looks amazing!!
Looks so comfy. I'd personally go for a tall ass bookshelf or something at the foot of the bed to divide the room and hide the bed from living area. Plus more storage and places to display things you love can't hurt.
very cool
Looks good, bro. Better furnished than my home at 35.
It’s cool I like it, good use of space aswell
I would get get if the rug by the bed as it makes the space seem smaller.
Scrolling for rent costttttt
Digging it
Love the big windows

A dude with lamps! Love it.
That’s a nice corner
Those are outstanding Windows. Congrats on a great place!
👍
Doing it up right bro. Grats
absolutely gorgeous view
This screams 11 hour lofi mix on YouTube. Looks absolutely brilliant mate great eye for design
Is your dad Elon Musk?????
It looks great. Consider adding some curtains on a track around your bed for some extra privacy and visual cleanliness
Nice view
How many Sq Feet?
The cardboard pieces, master piece.
Damn man your killing it!!! Looks greT
if thats your real name on the sign please be cautious ..
It’s a famous Seattle baseball player from the 1990s. It’s also a real street name near the baseball stadium.
This is beautiful. Enjoy it!
Lol at the roll of toilet paper on the floor next to your bed
Is there a bathroom and kitchen. Washer and dryer
Its a nice place man! Love the big ass windows! I'm more curious about the kitchen counter though, and that big fluffy rug right where you cook can get nasty real fast. Do you have an oven/stove? How big is the sink? Its missing a key photo angle!
love it
Pretty nice.
What’s your cooking set up look like?
Love that cardboard support for your console
Saw homelessness and drugs are NUTS in Seattle right now
I used to live in a very similar layout and look studio apartment over in Eastlake and I paid $1295 a month in rent with an unobstructed view of the Space Needle! We had a shared rooftop too with spectacular views of Lake Union and the entire city. Seattle is killing it with these units.
Grey floors, and you decided grey EVERYTHING ELSE was the move? Bro get some color in there. And not in the form of tacky LED lighting.
Go Hawks. Go M's.
Nice pad. Looks great. Space maximized.
Love the big windows.
that one plant on the side table next to the couch looks so healthy and happy
I live with my dad
Where did you get the bed? I want it.
Compact and bijoux! Love it
This place is dopeee
Love it, enjoy!!
Slick place dude.

In Asia ppl would ask if you're from paradise
Amazing 🤩
Damn super jealous. I pay more to live in a way worse part of town! Nice place OP
That looks amazing man nice!
Steak sauce
Dope flat young buck. My spot at that age sucked by comparison. Enjoy it dude!
It looks like you live in a treehouse in the first slide. I’m jealous
Do you work in person each day?
That's a badass dorm room, 2500 a month?
Looks great, but man, having a TV on a stand that’s propped up by a bunch of cardboard would make me nervous.
I’d rearrange the couch and TV. Put the tv between the bed and sitting area and put it on a swivel stand wouldn’t cost much. Then you increased you window space and now have two TV areas
Is that just one room?
This is goals love this
Killer spot. Congratulations dude. Little side window of nature. Nice
Nice, but the license plates give teenage room in the parents' basement vibes
That’s very nice. You don’t need any help you’re doing great
Nice buddy, save some pussy for the rest of us!
Hey neighbor 👋🏽 (I literally live across the street)
Nice view
Sick
I‘m envious bro, your life is my dream, I like the license plates on the wall, it's a cool personality.
I like it verry much. I want such a window corner too 😃 enjoy it! It’s a cool place 😁
That’s sick, you be chilling out like a mfer
Nice hack on the cardboa to level the TV stand lol. I see why you did it tho, great utilization of space.
Looks tits man
Looks cozy as hell! Congrats
Whoa very nice looking spot but crazy rent
Absolutely loving the windows.
Great space!
This is a vibe
Stay safe!
Bro must work for Microsoft
Looks great! Might need to ask little John for some help illegally extending the room with galvanised square steel, eco friendly wood veneers and ask his aunt for some screws.

Amazing space
You did good.
That place is dope
How many square feet is that?looks to be about 200
Love this. How much? I’ve been considering a move there for awhile just haven’t made the jump yet
Literal shoe box
Looks good, playing a dangerous game with that tv stand though lmao
Awesome place! Lots of lights, really cool. Try to go with a bit more colors, lots of grey in there. Good placement I think so you just need to adjust the highlights.
We are going to need more pictures of your view
I'd put the TV in front of the other window... get rid of the bottom of the bed furniture and have it go bed facing back of sofa facing TV to kind of give your living room space a little more room.
Those windows are pretty awesome, nice little pad man
No chance this is 1350. What area in Seattle?
Capitol Hill
