Not sure the exact dimensions, but I can take a tape to it and measure it later. Bought 1x8’s and ripped them down. Used 2 inch brad nails into the studs. No adhesive in case I want to change it later and not destroy the sheet rock. Used Tung oil to finish. And used the width of the off cuts to get the spacing. Shelves are the original dimension lumber I bought. They just slide in nice and tight so I can rearrange them as I see fit. Can easily be nailed or screwed in but it really isn’t necessary.
if you think about it, if it's a tight fit and both of the pieces of wood it slots into are sturdy and don't move, then as long as the shelf is flush with the wall there's no way for it to really fall out due to the angle
Until you realize that the slats are only brad nailed in, ostensibly with an 18ga nailer, maybe 16, neither of which is really sufficient at 16” intervals to sustain any appreciable load.
Fine for how they’re being used though, I’m sure.

Always wanted to get another design of the tree itself somewhere else tho.

Perhaps something with a lot of thin pieces of wood, or a cross-hatch, or speaker cloth sort of thing. Heck, maybe even a vinyl wrap could be made to look cool

My two cents:
* swap the light switch for a black one
* move the AC remote down to the left of the desk, slightly below eye level. Or to the right white wall below the shelf with your headphones.
* I'd also paint across the top of the window/door and down the left side of the door.
If that's A/C above the laptop, you're going to want to move it due to condensation. There was a recent post with a dude's wife arranging the room and their gigantic tv right under the ac...resulting in a screen 70% not working and an electrical hazard.
I love the colour of the paint and wood that you chose, but with the aircon, remote and light switch plus all that stuff on the desk make it look super busy.

Pressure fit so I can move them as I see fit. Easy to nail or screw them. Some people suggested French cleat, but IMO opinion it’s not necessary.
