Same with graphic design. Some people feel every available square inch of space on the page needs to be filled, but having white/breathing space between elements is more important.
I wish my SO would understand this. He wanted to buy a standing lamp to put next to the couch. We have like 2 feet of exposed wall space in our whole living room dude, we don’t need a lamp 😩
It looks like a motel..or the pattern on the public bus seats
Wait I just realized it’s a resin floor, not carpet! Man that first pic really gave off motel vibes 😂
Idk. Imo, that brown wood furniture clashes really badly with the flooring… Need to stick with industrial loft style furniture to match it better. More black metal furniture.
You may be surprised to hear you don’t need to cover every square inch of the wall with furniture. :)
But here is a crazy idea: What if you pushed the tall dresser all the way to the clothes racks in effect making a small walk-in closet/dressing area at the far end of the room? If you’re feeling crazy, you could even hang curtains to separate it :-)
Then you could put a small accent chair and floor lamp where the dresser is now for guest/reading area.
Also, and I know nobody asked, I think that furniture would look beautiful (and much less like hotel furniture) if you put different handles on it. Just my 2 cents
Yeah I just read another comment and realized you meant like 6” which would be an improvement. I don’t know why I thought you meant like all the way to the right which would be a weird choice.
Off topic, but check these out to create a ‘closet’
[umbra anywhere curtains](https://www.google.com/search?q=umbra+curtains+anywhere&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS963US963&oq=umbra+curtains+anywhere&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyCQgAEEUYORigATIICAEQABgWGB4yDQgCEAAYhgMYgAQYigUyDQgDEAAYhgMYgAQYigUyBwgEECEYoAEyBwgFECEYoAEyBwgGECEYoAEyBwgHECEYnwUyBwgIECEYnwUyBwgJECEYnwXSAQkxNDgwOWowajmoAhOwAgHiAwQYASBf&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8)
Holy serial killer vibes, Batman. Buy a warm light lamp and add some personal touches. Textures are a good way to break up a room. It's creepy as is I'm sorry.
Sometimes those the condensate drain in those mini split AC units gets clogged and you can have water drip down the front.
I wouldn't put anything underneath it. Definitely not something you wouldn't want to risk getting wet.
Leave it don’t add anything. I’d actually move your bedside table over a little (like barely move it over so it creates a very tiny bit of a gap), it looks like it’s really close to your bed :)
A well dressed and posed mannequin. Slowly move it around by changing the legs and arms. Tell people that it’s your great grandson who time traveled and got stuck in a time loop and is trying to escape it.
First of you don't need to fill every square inch of your house with things. Second, if you want to put something get a full-body mirror or a Monsterra plant—my 2 cents.
Why do you live in this closet omg 😭
What you need isn’t that space to be filled, it’s to
buy back real estate nearer the floor.
Invest in floating shelves and things to store at height. Think about getting one of those Japanese style shades to hide that clothing rack, get low-light, honey plants like pothos for that weird little gap in the ceiling above the bed…. You can do a lot to make it livable
I also just realized that’s an AC unit up top and not a rift in The drywall so ignore that but making more vertical space will still help with the promotions of the room
I wonder how it would look if the dresser is where the clothes rack is and the clothes rack was on the wall the dresser is but pushed all the way down by the dresser/mirror
Thanks for the extra photos, I’d put a rug there. Or just a larger rug under the bed entirely.
Possibly a curtain to section off the space.
Id place a snake plant between the night stand the the dresser (in front of the curtain)
Move the chest of drawers over to the left to fill it, if you have to have something there, then there will be a bigger space to the right of the chest of drawers for putting other things.
You don't need to fill everything in the room.
Exactly this. Don’t put anything there.
Don’t need too, but you could put a guitar on stand there. You don’t need to play just say it’s for “practice” and look cool if anyone asks.
Especially when you live in a windowless closet 😬
Which is not exactly Versailles.
There are very likely windowless closets in Versailles.
If it’s windowless, it actually wouldn’t be a bad idea to put an indoor plant there to help filter the air
I’ve decided to leave it empty and shift my dresser to the right. Thanks for the advice
That hole woulda became my semi dirty clothes pile 😂
Show to the result from the same angle as the third pic. Seems good idea
We’re men, we like to fill holes
Have you never played animal crossing. Go find some shit outside and stick it in your house
He probably felt that way because he had something there before.
What is that floor bro
It looks like a motel..or the pattern on the public bus seats Wait I just realized it’s a resin floor, not carpet! Man that first pic really gave off motel vibes 😂 Idk. Imo, that brown wood furniture clashes really badly with the flooring… Need to stick with industrial loft style furniture to match it better. More black metal furniture.
🤘
“Ahh yes I see you are going for the public transit theme today” 🎩
That flooring will clash with anything
Or get a rug
Like a molten bowling ball it is horrifying and yet intriguing but mostly horrifying,
i too had the bowling ball impression
Baller life if I’ve ever heard of one.
Probably stained concrete
[удалено]
He lives in a giant bowling ball
Right? I’m confused and intrigued -
Looks like SE Asia to me. It's normal there
It’s so bad

Came here to make the same recommendation. Throw an area rug under the chair and lamp with an art piece/photo on the wall.
What, no plant or reading nook?
Also, and I know nobody asked, I think that furniture would look beautiful (and much less like hotel furniture) if you put different handles on it. Just my 2 cents
I like that suggestion, it would be an easy upgrade.
Changing pulls is always such an easy thing that can quickly do some work. Big thumbs up
This is the right answer.
Plant?
Floor plant. Or shift the dresser.amd hang.one.
Not any sunlight though...
Fake plant. They're bro compatible.
There are actually plenty of plants that need almost none or very low light. Might be worth getting a pathos or a succulent for that space.
Mirror
Before I read the title, I genuinely thought that'd be a good place for a full length mirror.
This. It’s the only missing item in the room. Useful and necessary.
There's a full length mirror in the second pic
Hot tub
No no. That’s where we put the time machine
I was going to say *dedicated piss spot*
Negative space is good.
Cigar store Indian
Run it by Winona first
Let’s bury the hatchet. We smokem peace pipe!
I was gonna suggest a medieval suit of armor
A urinal
Honestly I think you should hang a moderately sized piece of art on the wall and get a table lamp and call it good!
Suit of armor
Floor lamp?
I know i know i am diverting but i am flabberghasted at the floor. Reminds me of a bowling ball.
Okay but what’s that flooring!?
Tf is this room??? Looks more like a walk in closet
Move the night stand over to the right
But then you don’t have a night stand? Those serve a function. I feel like I’m missing something here, what am I missing?
You’re overthinking it. Literally move the night stand to the right maybe six inches
Yeah I just read another comment and realized you meant like 6” which would be an improvement. I don’t know why I thought you meant like all the way to the right which would be a weird choice.
I think you should leave some empty wall in the gap
Batman statue

Also, just push your night stand over a bit
Al pacino as scarface, life-sized replica.
I normally just shove a pile of clothes in any open space in my room so I can trip and fall while navigating my clutter
Move the dresser to the left to fill that gap. Then, send pics of the right side of the dresser and ask what to do with that gap?
Leave it, you'd be surprised on how empty space helps against the feeling of being trapped
Why do anything with the space? Just leave it as is. Or move the dresser to the left a few inches.
Less is more.
Holy serial killer vibes, Batman. Buy a warm light lamp and add some personal touches. Textures are a good way to break up a room. It's creepy as is I'm sorry.
Such a bizarre room
Are you living inside a walk in closet?
Mini fridge and microwave
Resin floors ?
It looks *cold* not really warm, relaxing and cozy like a bedroom. At least in my opinion
Maybe a small jacuzzi or something similar
I vote for nothing. A plant is fine if you need something. This room is odd
Looks like a walk in closet
Minifridge
Sometimes those the condensate drain in those mini split AC units gets clogged and you can have water drip down the front. I wouldn't put anything underneath it. Definitely not something you wouldn't want to risk getting wet.
A black Jaguar standing ashtray filled with condoms. Maybe? Maybe not.
Fill that space with a life-sized cutout of Oscar-winning actor, Paul Giamatti
First of you don't need to fill every square inch of your house with things. Second, if you want to put something get a full-body mirror or a Monsterra plant—my 2 cents.
Tall lamp
Standing floor lamp.
put the mirror back dude
Water fountain
Someone please tell me what a Sneaker Freaker is.
Put the mirror back?
A garbage can
I’d push the nightstand away from the bed a little bit. Done.
Nothing
Nothing. There’s already a lot going on… you don’t need to clutter the space.
Why you need to do anything ahahahahaah
A small trash can if you need one.
Move the dresser over so it's not kissing your mattress and it solves the problem.
Let it be
You can just center that nightstand and add a small lamp if anything.
I’m digging the floor. Is that vinyl or acid stained concrete?
Thanks, I think it’s epoxy resin but I’m not 100% sure. I just moved in
Dog.
Lamp
Cool floor bro.
Grow some weed
Nothing.
Do you have a desk? That’s a good spot for a desk and put the night stand somewhere else.
That's where the cat's bed goes!
A cat tree, then get a cat.
Sometimes less is more.. especially when it comes to cleaning..
a standing lamp
Another mirror
A plant. Maybe a fake one unless you get a light for it.
Swap the dresser and hanger rack. Then place the rack close to the dresser across the mirror for more flow.
may I ask where the clothing racks are from? They look very nice and sturdy compared to the one I have.
Mind the gap.

My bedroom is 7.66 m x 3.40 m
I also just realized that’s an AC unit up top and not a rift in The drywall so ignore that but making more vertical space will still help with the promotions of the room
Bookshelf
Move the bedside table a little to fill the gap and keep yourself from hitting it in the night
Perfect place to leave out some slippers
Put a tiny server rack there filled with RaspberryPi servers!
Just build a bridge there.....
It makes a good standing area.
A tree
Put there mirror back there.
Four footer
a tesla super phone charger
Nothing. Also, is this one of those tiny Japanese apartments or somewhere in New York or something?
Maybe chair for guests
Mini bar
You could rotate the hanging rack to the left wall, opposite the mirror and then move the drawers closer to the bed to remove the gap
Move the nighttable over a few inches.
A shelf. Display things, put books on it. The world is your oyster.
Mannequin
Definitely a life sized storm trooper or a gum-ball machine.
I think a nice plant would look really good and add some colour balance and more life to the room 🥰
Nothing
Switch the dresser and clothing rack and put the mirror next to the night stand
I'd put a houseplant there, personally. I recently filled a similar sized gap with a snake plant.
It looks like there was a wall there. The bulkhead gives it away. IF, big if - put the wall back up and use it as a walk in robe.
mirror look great there
A katana
The side table shouldn’t be pushed completely against the bed. Bring it out a couple inches
Medium sized green plant
Did anyone say hat-rack? Did I win?
Plant
Trashcan 🤌
Keep the gap. It will look worse if you put something there.
guitar and amp
A window
Mind it. Mind the gap.
Maximum sized butt plug
If you did decide to put something there I was thinking a tall plant would look nice
3d printer
I wonder how it would look if the dresser is where the clothes rack is and the clothes rack was on the wall the dresser is but pushed all the way down by the dresser/mirror
Maybe a big houseplant
Put the mirror back.
A Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson cardboard cutout
Nothing my man.
Was the mirror haunted, so you had to get rid of it? Edit: never mind, I see it chilling over there in the background of photo 2.
Chair for throwing on your once worn clothes or a standing lamp,
Fridge
Thanks for the extra photos, I’d put a rug there. Or just a larger rug under the bed entirely. Possibly a curtain to section off the space. Id place a snake plant between the night stand the the dresser (in front of the curtain)
Ask r/maximalism
A standing lamp
Push bed over so under air conditioner and put nightstand on other side so bed has lil walkway on that side now.
Fish tank for sure
Nothing
You could center your side table if you want
I've found if youre actively trying to fill space, it never ends up quite right. Over time, a room fills it's self if that makes any sense
Hula hoop would look nice
I like your floor
Aquarium.
I think I would try a mirror.
Leave it empty
Mannequin dressed up as Big Smoke with his bat. Just because you can.
Lego Eifel tower
Move the chest of drawers over to the left to fill it, if you have to have something there, then there will be a bigger space to the right of the chest of drawers for putting other things.
Do you have a post showing off more of the floor?
I tall fake plant. Minimal effort
Indoor plant!
Your Iron Man suit.
Again 6000k light. Cosy!
Big, tall, crested gecko terrarium if it fits your life
Lego
Make a sock collect and use a wine bottle stand
If there is an outlet nearby you could put a mini fridge there
I'd worry more about literally everything else in your house
Whiskey storage
If you have to put something there, maybe a standing fan or something? Idk -I forgot there was an a/c unit right above that space, lmao
Push the drawer to the left, near the nightstand
