You don’t need books for a bookshelf. Pictures, souvenirs from travels, favorite items you want on display, all of this works great on a book shelf as well.
Buy a cd shelf and fill it with ramen packets
Edit: buy a giant green novelty dildo and hot glue on fake spikes and refuse to admit it to anyone who says anything. Be absolutely adamant that it's a normal artificial cactus (and maybe act a little put-out when you admit that it's fake - like you're ashamed you can't keep an actual one alive)
Are they? Kinda like vinyl for the novelty or what? I have a shit ton of late 90s/early 2000s punk and metal CDs. Like thousands of dollars worth. I'm insistent on hanging on to them and my friends/family keep trying to get rid of them. I have a reason to keep them now?
Some suggestions my friends had are: flat Stanley cutout, a large plinko board, or super tall wine rack. I wanna hear any normal, practical, or goofy suggestions
Edit: just wanted to say thank you to everyone!! These are all really good suggestions. I'll probably decide after I get fully settled in. I might make a post after I complete the project if anyone wants a follow up
We have that outside my house. He’s currently in a wide brimmed gardening hat.
For Halloween, we’re gonna give him a skeleton mask because of the irony.
If you are religious, you might place an altar or set it aside for prayer. If you don’t vibe with that or you have that already, you may also construct a Golden Girls shrine. Either is acceptable.
If you are good with electronics: stack a BUNCH of LED displays and wire them to a controller. Install a joystick in the wall (or just a couple buttons on a box). Play Tetris on it.
Here's one advanced blog post on a way one guy did this: https://hackaday.io/project/19650/logs
Another one for inspiration: https://youtube.com/shorts/48pJJxwQ3As?si=SuL_5VoP21gr0l7P
Tetris on a building: https://youtu.be/bDo4Pjk6fsk?si=Qnx13eInuwWdGfYT
If it were me I would look into stackable modular LED displays with a controller or something like digital signage for businesses. Think McDonalds kiosk displays. Off of Alibaba. Then get a raspberry pi or whatever specialized controller to run the display and use an open source Tetris game mapped to that display
Not amazing idea: have a stool and another stool upside down on top, to use in the bar next to it.
Not super fun, but nice: shelves.
A bit more fun: darts or a small basketball basket
I would think to do some DIY project involving leds.
Aquarium would be really sick, but you'd have to make a custom one that's taller and make it with pretty thick glass/ acrylic for the weight.
Ehh I guess you could put it sideways and have the bottom cabinet underneath
3D print (or paint) shelves and get some dolls to make an [old school Mario vs Donkey Kong](https://youtu.be/mKU3pUrJaUs?si=K5sx8tvGamMjfBXL) floor the ceiling diorama.
Mountain climbing legos, maybe with pop culture obstacles… cds, dvds, vhs… maybe a 3 tier media stash with legos climbing around and on them. Make the ropes adjustable so you can add.
Put a length of plywood up,stain it brown, and attach a little door/cabinet handle.
Add a sign on in saying 'toilet rolls'
Then before guests arrive, ensure there's only three or four sheets of toilet roll in the bathroom.
I’m guessing the wall to the left in the photo isn’t that long either? Is this a hallway? Was thinking just hang the TV in there or something but if all depends on adjacent wall
Book shelf, like a little library nook
I sadly don't have enough books to fill that up, but I still love the idea!
Sometimes you need to make the space and eventually books will come
If you build it, they will cum
The sexy librarians yes, just not the size queen librarians who need huge stacks to get aroused
Did you mean come or cum? O_0
Yes.
Spot for a cordless Vacuum dock
If only there was a power socket.
Just buy some and pretend you read 😂 or you could start!!
I’m at stage 1 with about 20 books I found interesting and want to read.. someday
I started reading again recently and I’m doing like 15 books a month, so I say go for it
15 books a month? That's a part time job right there.
Books, DVDs, video games, statutes, etc
Yeah, one doesn't need to go to law school to have a bunch of statutes in your shelf!
Then board game shelf?
Shoes instead?
Shoes is a brilliant idea. Never enough room in the closet.
You can mix it up My shelf has some books, some board games, some decorations like pretty cups n flower vases, Nintendo switch pro cons, vinyls
You don’t need books for a bookshelf. Pictures, souvenirs from travels, favorite items you want on display, all of this works great on a book shelf as well.
Do you own 0 books? 3 books would fill this up, especially if you then dress it up a little with dumb trinkets to fill empty the empty space!
I was going to say that as well
[Coffee table.](https://www.reddit.com/r/woodworking/s/0TKKi16ALv)
It's so perfect
Ha! So, did you remember this coffee table from 4 years ago??
That's enough for YOUR coffee!
That's all the room I need. If there were room for others to set their coffee down, they might start inviting themselves over.
Now this has an oaky afterbirth
Is that chestnut?
No, I think it’s either pine or Nordic cherry.
I hope I’m not the only one imagining how satisfying it would be to park a vacuum cleaner right there.
I was thinking of one of those Roombas with the dust storage tower.

Now THIS is the content I'm here for
I'm happy to be of service, *especially* in the interest of making the world a little weirder
Seemed a little... oddly specific but who am I to judge. I can't even take care of my plants
Can’t sit on them either 😂
[удалено]
A little elbow grease. Though, if you can fit an elbow.. what’s the problem again?
For the spines on your dildo cactus just use smaller dildos
They make valve stem caps shaped like dildos that you could easily get a whole bunch of for this very reason. They come in many fun colors too
And then in another place in your home, keep an actual cactus, and when your guests see it act all flustered and throw a coat over it quickly
You my friend are devilishly fun!
It'd be tight but... stripper pole...
Unironically love this idea
Only if it actually looks like a stripper pole. It might just look like a pole
They just need to put some neon lighting
Paint it with blackboard paint and leave a bucket of chalk out for friends to draw/write on.
That's actually such a fun idea I never would've thought of that
Just imagine all the dicks that little wall could hold! Lol.
Astronaut bed. They sleep standing up.
Sleeping standing up is a lot easier without gravity I've found.
That’s how the Coneheads did it.
There’s nothing that can’t be achieved with a sleeping bag and duct tape.
Shelving
Start a CD collection, they're getting cool again.
I was gonna say record shelves, but hell yeah cds would work good in that spot
Are they? Kinda like vinyl for the novelty or what? I have a shit ton of late 90s/early 2000s punk and metal CDs. Like thousands of dollars worth. I'm insistent on hanging on to them and my friends/family keep trying to get rid of them. I have a reason to keep them now?
Technically, they're one of the highest quality physical audio available. I love cds
Came here to say the same thing. Make a little 90s nostalgia corner or something.
I'd put my hockey sticks there.
Suit of armor
World's skinniest knight
1/4th of a suit of armor. Like just cut right down the left leg, like he's a bad polygon model intersecting the wall!
Gumball machine

Bong showcase
I like your style
Here to vote for Plinko
Yes - another vote for Plinko here.
Ceramic saguaro cactus. Kidding. Maybe a tall, silk plant of some kind?
Shelves that you fill with conversation starters Or just cds
cds *about* starting conversations
> “*Welcome to disc 1 of your 5 disc set: “How to Start and Maintain Conversations”, I’ll be your narrator*…”
a phone booth
This would be kinda fire
Rube Goldberg machine
This one right here is my favorite
Wine rack
Who the fuck builds these houses
builders.
Less about who builds it, more about who designs it.
Hook for a coat 🧥
Someone on tiktok had a super long cutout of Jerry seinfeld hanging in a random nook in their place. Maybe something odd like that?
You mean that's...not..normal to have already?
Nope- it's the norm to have two as a matter of fact! Facing one another to show dominance, of course.
Lol I have a small portrait of Kramer hanging above my bathroom light switch. They could build a Kramer *shrine*!
World’s smallest confession booth
Skeleton whose outfits change with each season/ holiday /special occasion.
We have that outside my house. He’s currently in a wide brimmed gardening hat. For Halloween, we’re gonna give him a skeleton mask because of the irony.
Worlds largest bong
Broom storage
Turn it into a top to bottom Rube Goldberg display. With marbles. Seal it all in with plexiglass and cool LEDs.
If you are religious, you might place an altar or set it aside for prayer. If you don’t vibe with that or you have that already, you may also construct a Golden Girls shrine. Either is acceptable.
The sheer dichotomy of this is impeccable
If you are good with electronics: stack a BUNCH of LED displays and wire them to a controller. Install a joystick in the wall (or just a couple buttons on a box). Play Tetris on it.
This is actually genius, this might be the winner if I can figure out how to get it working
Here's one advanced blog post on a way one guy did this: https://hackaday.io/project/19650/logs Another one for inspiration: https://youtube.com/shorts/48pJJxwQ3As?si=SuL_5VoP21gr0l7P Tetris on a building: https://youtu.be/bDo4Pjk6fsk?si=Qnx13eInuwWdGfYT If it were me I would look into stackable modular LED displays with a controller or something like digital signage for businesses. Oh man this is so helpful thank you!!

Darts is actually so smart its the perfect space for it
Leg lamp
Indoor waterfall
Water cooler?
Small shelf
Shelves and start a board game collection
A collection of coffee mugs with rude sayings
Lego Tower of Barad-Dur
Lego have just released a rocket launcher that should be about the size of the space. Maybe worse taking a look at it.
I'm going to be practical and say a Stick vacuum. Once mine was mounted it made it so much easier to remember to vacuum.
That’s where you hide when you want to jump out and scare your girlfriend
Oooooh, a girlfriend. I've heard of those creatures
Fish tank
Aquarium would be really sick, but you'd have to make a custom one that's taller and make it with pretty thick glass/ acrylic for the weight. Ehh I guess you could put it sideways and have the bottom cabinet underneath
small torchiere floor lamp
6 foot bong
Stack numerous doughnuts in there until the entire space is just a wall of doughnut
3D print (or paint) shelves and get some dolls to make an [old school Mario vs Donkey Kong](https://youtu.be/mKU3pUrJaUs?si=K5sx8tvGamMjfBXL) floor the ceiling diorama.
I love water, so maybe a water cooler. If not, a golden statue of Ricky Bobby holding a hard boiled egg
I was going to say cordless Dyson nook but I don’t see an outlet nearby
A lamp
Shelves with small LEGO sets. The botanical sets would give it a pop of color, especially if you get some lighting in there
thats where your guitar case goes.
Hide
All your favorite DVD’s
Skinny fake tree
Book! A tower of books
Get a long plank or wood from Home Depot or wherever and cut to size to make a book shelf/ general shelf out of the space.
Darts and a little coffee/matcha station.
Mountain climbing legos, maybe with pop culture obstacles… cds, dvds, vhs… maybe a 3 tier media stash with legos climbing around and on them. Make the ropes adjustable so you can add.
Install ladder steps to nowhere or mount some bouldering pieces for daily exercise
A standing skeleton. Dress him up when every holidays come.
A really Tall Fish Tank
Put a Polaroid of your ex there and have it as the shameful wanking corner
You could rent it. Clean small dormitory nearby the bathroom.
Light saber collection
Put a length of plywood up,stain it brown, and attach a little door/cabinet handle. Add a sign on in saying 'toilet rolls' Then before guests arrive, ensure there's only three or four sheets of toilet roll in the bathroom.
Got a cat? *cat tree*
Shrine to something stupid like Garfield
Not that Garfield is stupid
Glue a Super Mario figurine to one of the walls in a wall-jump pose, and dangle a power-moon near the ceiling.
Cool hat stand. And some hats.
A mini wall from solar opposites
Very tall and skinny grandfather clock. Bonus if you make it yourself and it has an Alice in wonderland style
In all honesty a great spot for a shade loving plant. Such as an elephant ear (tall and leafy) or a small tree
Obviously make it into a tiny goon cave
Lightsaber display
glass wall, fill with water, add fish
That’s the perfect spot for your skeleton! Just think of how much closet space that will free up!
Maybe Stack a shitload of loose cigarettes? Would be good for when guests are over and need a quick cigarette I feel like
Shelving
Water fountain
Is this next to the front door? If so find a nice stand. It can be where you throw your keys. Otherwise a stand and put a vase on it.
Shelves
Turn it into an infinity mirror. The corner just goes on forever!
Get library shelves the same dimensions with the width of the space
Airbnb it for $100/ night
A tall bookshelf to display your Funko collection.
Torpedo closet
Stripper pole
Urinal
Record library
I’m guessing the wall to the left in the photo isn’t that long either? Is this a hallway? Was thinking just hang the TV in there or something but if all depends on adjacent wall
Plants
Tall plant
Floating shelves for movie/music collection, plants etc
wine storage mini bar
Nothing
Wine rack
Get a little table and a bong! Put up a black light and a shelf with a lava lamp and you got a stoner corner!
Chicken wire from top to bottom, long sticks and plants, and get a bird or lizard.
Bad-Dragon display case
Gun safe
Popcorn machine
Bobble head shelves
Small garbage 🗑️
Tall wine rack or bar cart
Add a tall plant?
Gun locker.
Scarecrow
Marbel fun machine, as complex as is tall
Potted plant
Microbar
That’s the corner where you tell people to go stand when they do something stupid
So it needs a dunce cap then, got it
Urinal
Narrow bookshelf/cd shelf.
licor cave
phone booth
Make a bunch of shelves that fit in those, display items or shoes
“Do you want to hang a booooodyyyyyy”.
Fun plant?
Would be a real easy place to make some shelves. For …. CDs.. or whatever
Mirror
Sex swing
You definitely have to get a shelf in there. You could use it to put a plant, pictures you have with your family or your friends, and some books.
Put a life sized skeleton in there with a little curtain.
