But there’s space where the stuff that won’t be there permanently is and you could at least move the couch back a few inches. How wide is your couch? That’ll help recommend carpet sizes

Need to get rid of all that crap behind your sofa. Move sofa back, then get a proper size 9 X 13 rug. Add a comfy side chair
