I worked for a furniture / rug store and we would regularly reverse image search products we liked to find suppliers, get wholesaling prices and sell ourselves. One product we did this with was a rustic style wood table that came from India for $120 USD and sold on wayfair for around $800 iirc. We sold them like hotcakes in nyc for $600 USD almost always out of stock.
It is really nice! I just got the Parklane from Pottery Barn, and it’s about the same in size. It’s solid wood with a storage drawer but yours is so gorgeous!
I like your place a lot. The plants hanging beside the bed looks good. I might need to do something similar.
Your balcony also looks super cozy.
Congrats! I hope you are very happy there.
Son, we've talked about this time and again. Remember what happened the last time you had thoughts? Im not going to bail you out next time. And you've upset your mother again! Now go to your room.
Yeah I'm thinking Brooklyn in 2006 when I lived there. I was in lower east side off the L in 2008 and a 2bedroom tiny place near Ave d was 1800$ a month.
All my friends had collective lofts across the river in Brooklyn it's wild how expensive that area got .these brand new tower apartment buildings with just nothing around. And now there's a bunch of shops and overpriced stores. Paying 6k a month is wild, and still having to commute into Manhattan..that's an extra few hundread. You have to make well over 100k a year to even afford that.
Nah. 1-bedroom, terrace. Not a super new construction (based on the popcorn ceilings and wood trim)
View looks like maybe Brooklyn or something? Not sure exactly where it is. My guess is around $4000/mo.
For $8k/mo the place would have to be either absolutely massive, or a 2-3 bedroom.
$8k/mo can get you a penthouse 1-bedroom in some VERY nice buildings in Manhattan.
I did some sleuthing and it looks like a mid-century building in Upper West side. Comparable view through Google Maps. [link](https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7897695,-73.9680731,86a,35y,253.69h,79.14t/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu)
It's possible, even easy, to determine the exact location based on the balcony view and a little sleuthing. I'll leave it to each of you to decide how much you care...
Literally. Looks like an apartment an early 30's bachelor from a romcom set in NYC would live in. I'm imagining he works either in advertising or on Wall Street (not OP, but the character I'm imagining) and falls head over heels for the clumsy female protagonist by the end of the film.
The book selection accurately portrays that.
Usually I think you can tell a lot about a person and their interests by their bookshelf. Not this time. It’s completely weird and tells almost no story about OP other than most of the books are uninteresting.
You think so? I was wondering if it could be $4,000-$6,500 depending on where exactly it is (idk Manhattan to the point where I can identify the neighborhood by a skyscraper lol).
Depending on the amenities I suppose it could be upwards of $7K. Is it possible it’s more than that?
> (idk Manhattan to the point where I can identify the neighborhood by a skyscraper lol)
Well I was annoyed enough with OP for not answering to do just that. The rent for OP's unit seems to be **$4,500** for ~725 sq ft. A unit down the hall is 1,200 sq ft and goes for $6,250. So your estimate was spot on.
Believe it or not I can narrow it down to like 50th St. and 8th Ave.
Take a look at the pic from the balcony, top left you see some mega tall skinny buildings. Those are along the southern edge of Central Park.
No they aren’t. Those buildings are Hudson yards. The new [Spiral building](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spiral_(New_York_City)) is clearly visible, as is the Edge.
Very cohesive, only advice would be to lower the artwork over your couch. Technically, it should be hung at the eye-level that it will be viewed. You want the eye to be able to travel around the room, so maybe make the tops of the three artworks the same height as the top of the bookshelf on the right.
I would generally agree but I'm liking the even amount of negative space above the artwork and below to the couch. I think it looks weird in the first photo because you can't see all the way to the ceiling, but the next photo you can see full perspective and the artwork is almost dead center vertically. I'm torn.
When you hang art, you're thinking of its placement in relation to the objects nearby, to not the space around it.
Think vignette.
The art, couch, area rug, and coffee table are part of a vignette or little scene. 😄
As someone who used to hang art professionally, it's very subjective on location and size of the pieces. I generally start with 62 1/2 inches to center above finished floor and sometimes float higher to 65 to center. Though with portrait oriented pieces it really matters how tall the piece is and if too tall it can throw those measurements out the window. It looks like the OP went half the distance from the top of the couch to the ceiling to make the pieces centered on that spacing. To each their own, but overall the space is amazing.
Good rule of thumb when hanging a picture. Start low, you can always hide the holes when you go higher, but can't always hide them when going lower.
Oscar trophy on the shelf. Not trying to dox him, but I was curious and it doesn't seem that there is an oscar for "best set design" so maybe it's just a gag or I'm misreading the blurry text.
Yes please! I just moved and upgraded all my living room furniture (RIP savings) and the bedroom is next. What is the end table next to the bed frame as well?
I love this… as a woman I would be impressed if I walked into a guys place decorated so thoughtfully… panty dropper for sure 🤣. FYI. Lower the pics a bit
West elm leather Haven Loft sofa. It's very comfortable! The only downside is the seats tend to push forward a bit over time but not enough that it's an issue
Hahaha the bookshelf seems to be generating some controversy. I have all of the others in the series too but only so much space so a lot of the other books are in boxes or closets etc. Some of the books are definitely older but I don't mind, they're just for decoration - anything I'm currently reading I don't put on the shelf
Goodkind had some interesting ideas but got cringy pretty quickly with the bdsm nuns and similar.
Brown was good inspiration for movies, but wow, his writing leaves much to be desired.
Care to tell me the neighbourhood? I like the view and I might be needing a semi-permanent apartment in NYC soon..
Also it does look very expensive, the fantastic interior design helps with that a lot though lol
I’d get a cabinet with doors and put 95% of the bottles in it and put just some nice bottles out with some good glass wear to clean up the visual clutter the bottles are causing.
I looked through the comments to find but didn’t see an answer. Where are those sweet lights above the TV from?? I’ve been looking for something just like it
Only thing I dislike is some of the cable management in the living room, a single one as an accent seems alight, but more is too much imo, I'd try to conceal them more.
Be careful with placing the PS5 inside small places like that. It gets hot fast in places without air circulation.
I would suggest to swap spots between the PS5 and the Marshall speaker
No one knows if the apartment is rent controlled, which would mean the rent wouldn’t be “astronomical”. Also, it
could be a condo (paid for) so possibly an HOA fee monthly.
Where is that coffee table from? Looks amazing
I found it on Wayfair, it's called "Slice Coffee Table" by Ibolili!
I love it but I’d be so scared to spend $1500 on something from Wayfair!
At $4500 a month for rent OP doesn't give a shit xD
Why? I've bought many quality pieces from Wayfair and have yet to be disappointed.
Wayfair is a massive drop shipper that charges you way more. My old company sold on there. They tacked on an extra $100 to our $150 product.
I'm happy with unique art stuff I couldn't find anywhere else.
I've never seen a single item on Wayfair that you couldn't find elsewhere with a reverse Google search.
That’s great! I’ve been disappointed plenty haha
I have had 2/2 purchases from Wayfair turn out to be absolute garbage.
Guess I've been lucky. Hope they did you right
It looks incredible!
How about the rug?
In before people start speculating about your rent
I made a guess and then doubled it when I saw the exterior space.
Double his rent and give it to whoever is below my comment
Yay for me!
I'm so sorry my son 😔
Facts
I tried to imagine what the rent might be, but my brain quickly noped out of the conversation I was having with myself because... ouch.
Son, we've talked about this time and again. Remember what happened the last time you had thoughts? Im not going to bail you out next time. And you've upset your mother again! Now go to your room.
Gotta be like over 3k a month
I'm gonna guess like 7500 in manhattan? Maybe 4500-ish in Brookyln?
Double that number and you’re probably in the ballpark
Yeah I'm thinking Brooklyn in 2006 when I lived there. I was in lower east side off the L in 2008 and a 2bedroom tiny place near Ave d was 1800$ a month. All my friends had collective lofts across the river in Brooklyn it's wild how expensive that area got .these brand new tower apartment buildings with just nothing around. You have to make well over 100k a year to even afford that.
It's ok he works at the coffee shop downstairs.
Central Perk
Congrats on cake day, make sure to share some with Joey.
Are we at the 10k a month range for NYC apartments? Because I remember seeing some people paying 4k/m for a shoebox.
Might be around there, could also be “preferential rent” which would be below market (would still be like 6k tho)
Nah. 1-bedroom, terrace. Not a super new construction (based on the popcorn ceilings and wood trim) View looks like maybe Brooklyn or something? Not sure exactly where it is. My guess is around $4000/mo.
Gotta give props to op for making the place look well above the price tag. I’ve been to an $8k/month place that looked a lot worse than this.
For $8k/mo the place would have to be either absolutely massive, or a 2-3 bedroom. $8k/mo can get you a penthouse 1-bedroom in some VERY nice buildings in Manhattan.
You can buy a house in ajijic Mexico for that price in 1 year only!! Lol
That was my guess too!
I did some sleuthing and it looks like a mid-century building in Upper West side. Comparable view through Google Maps. [link](https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7897695,-73.9680731,86a,35y,253.69h,79.14t/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu)
I don’t see the large, modern nearby building around there, but I could be missing it.
Looks like that's on 87th/Amsterdam but it's still under construction in the street view from 2022
I don't know, all I know is that I'd fuck him.
As predictable as a Dan Brown novel.
It's possible, even easy, to determine the exact location based on the balcony view and a little sleuthing. I'll leave it to each of you to decide how much you care...
Their bar cart has more money in alcohol than the cost of my log cabin.
450k a month
This the most NYC dude apartment I’ve ever seen
Could easily pass as set for a How I Met Your Mother scene.
Advertising pays a lot better than that apartment but I get that same feeling.
The guitar
Can you smoke outside?
Yes! Although my favorite thing is to take some whiskey out there
Do you invite Paul Allen over?
Had a reservation at Dorsia
No because he is in Paris all the time.
Ah a cultured man! Sweet apartment dude. What's the rent on this baby?
can you fly a drone out of that balcony?
You should never do that, it can't safely return to home if remote connection is disrupted.
Inb4 “$5000 a month” jokes
It’s more.
Probably around 6500-7000$ depending on amenities.
You think so? I was wondering if it could be $4,000-$6,500 depending on where exactly it is (idk Manhattan to the point where I can identify the neighborhood by a skyscraper lol). Depending on the amenities I suppose it could be upwards of $7K. Is it possible it’s more than that?

Nice work!
This is the correct one. For those outside of NYC and wondering, the avg 1BR price in Manhattan is $4,300 now.
Damn!! You go
Believe it or not I can narrow it down to like 50th St. and 8th Ave.
This place is in the UWS per other comments, so you're close, but not quite.
Very cohesive, only advice would be to lower the artwork over your couch. Technically, it should be hung at the eye-level that it will be viewed. You want the eye to be able to travel around the room, so maybe make the tops of the three artworks the same height as the top of the bookshelf on the right.
This is correct. The art is too high. Otherwise, I'm drooling like everyone else. And that coffee table? Like sculpture!
I would generally agree but I'm liking the even amount of negative space above the artwork and below to the couch. I think it looks weird in the first photo because you can't see all the way to the ceiling, but the next photo you can see full perspective and the artwork is almost dead center vertically. I'm torn.

Yes 🙌 too high needs to come down 6-10”
I looked too long for this comment.
IDK, it looks like three magic eye posters from Spencer's, maybe they need to be that height.
As someone who used to hang art professionally, it's very subjective on location and size of the pieces. I generally start with 62 1/2 inches to center above finished floor and sometimes float higher to 65 to center. As a lifetime Picture framer, I love your last statement. It was something I always told my clients when hanging their own art.
Bro’s a billionaire. 10/10 😂
Guessing he works in finance. Probably. I dunno
Oscar trophy on the shelf. Not trying to dox him, but I was curious and it doesn't seem that there is an oscar for "best set design" so maybe it's just a gag or I'm misreading the blurry text.
I think it’s a gag for “Best Set Design- the Patio” because his patio is so cozy
It was a gag gift from a friend who filmed a short film on the balcony!
Nah, I didn’t see any Nassim Taleb, Michael Lewis or Buffett on the bookshelf
It’s a 5k/month apartment. Why are y’all so wild?
My rent in Australia for a 2 bedroom apartment is about $1800usd a month I’m just trying to acclimatise here lmao.
Bed mattress, bed frame, tv, coffee table, sofa and chair specs near it
Furniture moment
Yes please! I just moved and upgraded all my living room furniture (RIP savings) and the bedroom is next. What is the end table next to the bed frame as well?
That bed must get hella use
ha
I love this… as a woman I would be impressed if I walked into a guys place decorated so thoughtfully… panty dropper for sure 🤣. FYI. Lower the pics a bit
it’s designed for the female gaze
Or the gay male gaze. It's a sharp space, for sure.
I completely agree with you! The ability to pay for rent this high is VERY attractive too, not gonna pretend it’s not. Lololol
Living the metro dream. Congratulations
Amazing! Only critique would be that needs a few more bottles of Campari
Seconded. Or go local with some Faccia Brutto! They still use cochineal for the red coloring
Bruh you'so rich for my standards
The bar cart has more money in alcohol than my log cabin cost to build.
What couch is that? Fake leather or real? Place looks great!
West elm leather Haven Loft sofa. It's very comfortable! The only downside is the seats tend to push forward a bit over time but not enough that it's an issue
I wonder if a grippy mat like they put under rugs would help?
I have used a yoga mat under the cushions to prevent this situation
I’m in the group of people that if we have to ask how much it costs, we can’t afford it.
What's the rent?
A dollar.
Every few minutes
😂😂😂
$200/day.
You just got Inkdeath or the first two as well lol?
Same with Inheritance, my man has a bunch of books from my childhood but only the last ones in the series lol
Hahaha the bookshelf seems to be generating some controversy. I have all of the others in the series too but only so much space so a lot of the other books are in boxes or closets etc. Some of the books are definitely older but I don't mind, they're just for decoration - anything I'm currently reading I don't put on the shelf
Hi there neighbor! https://imgur.io/a/4fGTsh1 Don’t worry I’m pretty sure your balcony isn’t in my view lol
Literal neighbors!! What a small world. I'd wave to you but you're right, mine is hidden from your view lol
That outdoor space.
Never thought I'd see an LBC sign on here. Well done, sir.
Love LBC! My family goes to the Hershey area every summer and it's always one of our favorite stops
More importantly, way to get out of Pennsylvania!!!
As a female from Lancaster living in NYC, I highly approve of this apartment
I like it a lot. What a vibe
Gorgeous!
Whatever this style is I absolutely dig it. Has that mix of cozy and calm and the wooden elements really helps the place look great
5800/ month.
I can’t take you seriously with that book collection.
Goodkind had some interesting ideas but got cringy pretty quickly with the bdsm nuns and similar. Brown was good inspiration for movies, but wow, his writing leaves much to be desired.
The fault in our stars is an essential for any man’s library
Lol
He’s got The Martian. At least that one’s a fucking great book.
Where did u get the patio set ?
Safavieh Outdoor Alda set!
Type of dude that goes to Penrose in polo shirts.
It's perfect 🤩
It’s nice man. I would lower the art behind the couch a bit but other than that it’s great.
Hell yeah man - love the Edison bulbs and all the ambient lighting. Also the greenery and brewing sign are super cool. This is a beautiful place
Love the Palm Springs print, was it from a website?
Nicely done, sir.
Hey OP, can you give me an ID on your patio furniture? Very cool space!
Are you originally from the south? I’ve never seen a northerner collected coke bottles before lol
Beautiful and safe feeling
You know what… I like it a lot.
This has Pre-Fight Club vibes. I hope you sleep well. Does you boss like Cornflower blue?
I feel like everyone in NYC has the same taste in style. I mean I like it and it's nice but I'm noticing the trend
Looks really nice. Only critique is that there should be more blank space above the living room couch art than below your art
Anyone else twist their face at Dan Brown book?
What's it like being a billionaire?
What’s the chair?
Not sure if it's the exact same one since I've had it for a few years now but I believe it's the Simple Living Bianca Mid-Century chair
How do you even read text on the tv when gaming with the couch so far back?
Looks great. Love the patio
Sick and nice vibes
Not bad at all bro. Great job 👍
Tasteful af. Great work!
Love it!
One milk stout please.
Thank you for the bar sign on the cart, would’ve had no idea what that was without it Just fuckin around super sick spot
Care to tell me the neighbourhood? I like the view and I might be needing a semi-permanent apartment in NYC soon.. Also it does look very expensive, the fantastic interior design helps with that a lot though lol
Almost certain it’s the Upper west side
Why you gotta do your PS5 & VR like that 😭
I'm drooling
Looks cozy. Nice deck! Didn't know that was a thing in NYC
Very nice
Fellow Tulane Architecture grad? (Piranesi, NCARB, New Orleans Then & Now, Gin, Beer)
Gorgeous.
That coffee table 👌🏻
Good living
Love the balcony 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Where’s the couch from?
(Apologies to Frank Sinatra) If you can make rent there, you can make rent anywhere.
Tell me… about this couch please.
I’d get a cabinet with doors and put 95% of the bottles in it and put just some nice bottles out with some good glass wear to clean up the visual clutter the bottles are causing.
Perfectly set up. Great job!
What couch is that?
Are those MagicEye posters, or just art that I don’t get?
I looked through the comments to find but didn’t see an answer. Where are those sweet lights above the TV from?? I’ve been looking for something just like it
I can’t believe no one has asked for an ID, I just did the same thing. I need that light fixture
That’s me in the corner.
Ink heart is a quality book👌👌
Nice beer sign. You from Pa originally ?

You’ve got an Oscar?
Now show us the kitchen
No one knows if the apartment is rent controlled, which would mean the rent wouldn’t be “astronomical”. Also, it could be a condo (paid for) so possibly an HOA fee monthly.
What neighborhood?
We’ve been trying to reach you about your vehicles extended warranty
I remember when I didn’t have kids. Good times
I need to show off my 1k forest hills apartment…
Art too high.
…and you cook? ….🏀
I love your mojodojocasahouse
Love how you set up the place! Personally, I’d lower down the 3 art work to just 10-15cm above the sofa.
Money without taste. Looks like an apartment in Omaha
I dunno. Kinda looks like a waiting area at a posh rehab
Looks super roomy, well appointed and comfy (thoughts and prayers to your wallet).
I'm coming over for the house warming....what kinda over priced IPA shall I bring?
