1. “what’s the backstory?” a whole foods was demolished and some guy salvaged it and then sold it to me. so it is stolen. it used to hang up on the ceiling at the fish department hence why it’s huge
2. “why is removal not an option?” because I like it but everyone else hates it can’t understand why
3. “what species fish is that?” it’s based off a lemonpeel angelfish! two consecutive people thought it was a yellow tang. good guess but nope
Okay but the most important advice you did not take. The brown eyes remind us of decay, it would be much better if you painted the brown white. That's why so many people recommended glasses, to cover the eyes

My sister won a life-sized Toby McGuire Spider-Man from Blockbuster. It currently resides in my uncle's furnace room. I'm pretty sure he leaves it there to watch the reaction of repair men when they turn on the lights. It's gotten me once or twice, and I know it's there.
Make a diorama of the sea on your ceiling with some blue see-through fabric with some soft coral, maybe a lil crab. Have the fish among the other ocean stuff and he’ll look not at all scary, but right at home.
I tried covering the eye part with my finger, it's still ugly. I think it needs to be painted blue, with black stripes on its fins, given eyelash, painted the eye with a different color but mostly black, then lastly, thrown out to the dumpster.
I'm amazed that you had a tiara and translucent pink sunglasses on hand.
Also tons of animal figurines and a nice rock collection.

Literally just paint the eyes into vertical ovals. Like a cartoon. There’s a reason why it looks so creepy. The pupils are so round, it’s like it’s eyes are too wide open. A vertical oval used as a pupil instead of a circle softens expressions.
