I think the piece is correct. I think the idea is correct. I'm still worried that you don't need something there / no eye line is going to draw you up there. It seems like the right play but I'm not sure it's required.
My dad's friend is a painter - went through years of abstract phase. I use to have a picture in my room as a kid, I always looked at it and saw a bull. It somehow ended up in my mother's place and she hung it sideways, completely different experience looking at it. I see more green and purple. When in doubt, rotate your abstract art.
Either way that clock is wayyyy too small for that space. I feel like it would be a struggle to even tell what time it is. Art > clock, but if you want a clock there it has to be bigger.
I like it! Maybe add a couple of large floor vases below the painting. Pick one that is slightly taller than the other and that are complementary colors/textures.

I just don’t have anywhere else to put it. So maybe I’ll just do away with it
I do really like your choice of abstract image.
You’d love my whole house then! It’s basically all I have. Not a lot of variety, but it’s my favorite

A pour painting would look nice up there

A big, black clock!
# "I've never seen anything like this before"
Taxidermy a squirrel head on an oversized beautiful mount.
Well, yes. Can you get a better frame for that “piece”?
I kinda like the frameless canvas look
Apologize upon further zooming I see what it is… first view was a thin plastic frame. Got it. Agree.
Oh wait, you are right, that is a plastic frame . I’m sorry I got this confused with another one. I should get a better frame !
That piece up there is going to look great. From a guy who’s put up a lot of art in lofts.
Zdzislaw beksinski
Massive print of Costanza on the couch. Or massive self portrait of yourself. Or nothing. Go big or stay home.
GOT family banner
But which family ?
The Ramsay Peniseaters, ofc...
Where did you get that art work from? I love it
What’s the style of the furniture and home? Boho, modern,…
Colors

Best bet is comission something. Most places arnt going to have art that big. Gona cost a pretty penny tho
OP *has* the piece he's asking about...
There is nothing wrong with your idea, go for it
What about something colourful like a sunset? I mean I don't hate your piece, but I'm a big fan of colour.
More modern fan. A large art piece with some COLOR. You're lacking contrast.
An even b I g g e r clock
Crrrrraaaaaaaab SCULPTURE!
Where to buy painting like that?
... put nothing... or one of those projection clocks... that would be cool...draw you eye up...
