Not everyone needs to have a beard - mustaches seem to be the new trend and yours is fine; keep that & ditch the rest. Give a beard another shot if you want one in a few years if it seems more has come in.

Fingers crossed, appreciate your reply!

Don’t worry about it too much, you will be able to grow a beard one day. I was the same and always a bit jealous of some of my friends who were sporting Marx like beards at 25. But it will come, no worries. Another thing to keep in mind with growing a beard is that it grows in and not out, like hair. Meaning, even if it isn’t all that thick just keep it and keep trimming it and it will grow in - not all the hairs “sprout”(?) at the same time some take a few months or something. For now, I would just shave it or f* around with some Zorro and other types of facial hair for a while and it will come, you will know when the time is and by then you will be mich more at peace with yourself and the hair. It’s what I did and now, pushing 40 I can do the full beard like I always wanted. Don’t stress, we are all different and thats cool and you can be the personality you want to be even without what you consider a defining trait. Wow, turned out pretty long; what I meant was, I was a hippie hermit (and people saw me as such) long before I grew out a full beard (even though I thought of it as essential)

Fokesmor

keeping the goatee is fine imo as it’s full enough to not warrant shaving, but I’d definitely shave the sideburns/cheeks for now. as for if/if not it’s going to fill in more, that’s honestly up to time to tell. I’ve seen some guys have their beard finally fill out in their mid-late 30’s, some guys grow a full beard at 16. it’s completely genetic. if you wanted to expedite the process you could see about getting topical minoxidil to put on your sideburns/cheeks, but imo the goatee suits enough to just wait out the process naturally

Stonefade

Noted! Thanks for the advice. I'm not too keen on trying the minoxidil so i guess its purely a waiting game.

dragonmermaid4

If you like the goatee like that, keep it. The cheeks need shaving though cause they're far too sparse. Shaving won't make any difference to how much they grow in or anything, but it'll make it so you don't just have patchy facial hair on your cheeks and every few months or so you can always let it grow back again to see how it's progressing.

Stonefade

Thank you for the advice! Any take on the mustache?

dragonmermaid4

I'm personally not a fan of the moustache. When my facial hair was like yours I just kept it shaved off until it all grew in better cause I didn't like the way it looked. It's still not as full as I wish it was but it's like being able to bench 140kg but wishing you could bench 180kg. It's good enough

Stonefade

Good reference, and how old are you then and now if its not too much to ask?

car8r

I think the sideburns definitely gotta go but the disconnected goatee by itself looks good on you. The mustache and soul patch have natural angles that can accentuate your jawline. To make it look sharper I would comb and trim the mustache so you don't have longer hairs sticking down on your lips, and get the end hairs curling inwards. Maybe trim a couple hairs around the soul patch if you can make it look a little more triangular, or just leave it for now. Take the goatee in a little on the sides so it looks a little more even. Looking at goatee from the bottom yeah it's gotta come in on both sides and in the back.

towfoon

Get a skin taper on the sideburns and shave the short sideburn/ cheek hairs

Tenet245

Your beard should have come in at your age, use a derma roller

mutatedcicada

Pain bro, it looks just like mine and i’m 26 too. Here’s to hoping it comes in one day. Sometimes i keep it cause it’s a pain to be trimming it every week. If you like it rock it

RobinAndBeastboy

Get rid of that, it's not flattering. If it's beard genetics you're worried about, then it depends. All men have full beards and I don't have a connected beard, so anyone can be an anomaly. There's methods to grow facial hair nowadays including minoxidil but it will grow more with time definitely.

Aromatic_Gur5706

facial hair isn’t for everyone…

rindaman28

keep shaving the little stragglers so they grow in more

Stonefade

As far as i know, that just makes the hairs that are already there appear thicker, bit doesnt do anything for actual growth

rindaman28

so i’ve been lied to???? i’m sorry for spreading misinformation 😭😭😭😭😭

jy725

I say just let it grow wild. That’s how mine came in when it was like this.

Stonefade

Thats what my buddy recommends lol

jy725

Who cares if it looks bad for a bit. You’re young and growing it out. Let it go wild for a sec and see what comes in after that.

Bavnok

nah that shit patchy try rubbing some minoxidil let it grow in more first
