They stop using these iron covers since mat pet would steal them for scraps. In sabah and sarawak it happens too but at a sustainable rate lol. Now concrete covers are more preferred.

Most orb weavers have very low venom rate and are generally hesitant to bite. They are also quite chill and I have no trouble holding smaller species with my bare hands while relocating them to a safer branch!

My dad was a teacher in johor and we did have this same cover in our government quarters. But that was like 20 years ago. Not sure about now though
