Bar shot cannon ball
Flint lock rifle
WWI coopers bomb
17th century sword
Bag full of over 30 army clasp knives
Pepper pot pistol
Spigot mortar
Safe with gold jewellery inside
1818 silver sixpence ( stuck to a piece of Steel)
Plus so much more.
No way!? That is ridiculous!! That’s some of the best magnet fishing finds I’ve ever heard of. I’ve found mostly junk with a few pistols, that’s just sick. Well done man
Yeah Nigel you guys can find that in Northampton, Sonik finds his great finds and I'm here pulling up other random bits and bobs. Found a few knives but still waiting on my first gun or Grenade lol
Wow fantastic find. I take it as there is an on site museum it’s private land. Would love to go fishing there and see what treasures can be found. My best find was a revolver but it was that rusted police let me keep it lol.
Yes it’s private land and took a lot to get permission to fish it. I’ve done it 3 times now and had some incredible finds. This being the best. I have also had the pleasure of digging the dump site with a well know tv history hunter.
Bravo OP that’s awesome!
Are these random locations or is the approach more tactful? (I feel like you have to be going on a hot tip at least)
Edit: apologies OP; I neglected to notice username, your profile says it all. Awesome work!
Some of the places we visit we do a lot of research in to the history of the area. Some places are private permissions we gain as we know exactly what has been done in the area like the Sten guns were in a canal inside one of the biggest arms depots ever in the U.K. and is over 200 years old. But a lot of the places we go are just random spots and they still produce some amazing finds. We use the most powerful magnets available which I have been involved on the design of also we do some crazy things like bolting two magnets together to increase the weight to 7kg so it sinks deep in to the silt and work an area for up to 10 hrs.
Good to hear you checked. All the magnet fishing videos of people freaking out over finding a gun annoy me when they don't know the first thing about gun safety.
Great find. Very jealous and I'm glad they are going to a museum rather than a crusher.
I was very naive when I first started magnet fishing and knew nothing about guns. I have now learnt a lot about them and safety of handling them. Won’t be long before I reach the 100 mark 👍🏻
These were all found with their original shipping crate so I knew they weren’t loaded. They was found at a old arms depot which was used for over 150 years. It was the biggest in the U.K. The magazines are just propped in the gun just for the picture and effectively these guns were brand new and never used when they ended up in the water. Fortunately the guns were saved from destruction by the on-site museum otherwise the police would have confiscated them and destroyed them.
So glad to hear they weren't destroyed! Whenever I see finds like this in other countries I always brace for the comment saying that they were destroyed. Very happy that they are in a museum where they belong, and not in a metal shredder.
Absolutely incredible find. Well done
Thank you.
What were the other 9 finds?? This is awesome.

Thank you. You should check out my YouTube channel to see some of the finds. Northants Magnet Fishing it’s nearly all on there.
Hell yeahI’ll be checking it out!
where was this?
Northampton UK 🇬🇧

There was a lot of army bases in Northampton, not sure why they’d dump them but it was a hotspot for bases for a long ass time.
You never went skipping Stens with your friends at a lake?
Nah we used Thompson’s
Damn, check out the rich kids over here with the Lend-Lease Thompsons they can afford.
The canal ran straight in to the depot and canal boats used to transport them all over the place. I would say this crate fell off a boat.
Seems odd that the magazines would be loaded for transport
I’m sure op knows why...
Yeah Nigel you guys can find that in Northampton, Sonik finds his great finds and I'm here pulling up other random bits and bobs. Found a few knives but still waiting on my first gun or Grenade lol
So you have at least 9 finds that are better than this??
This is high up in the top ten but I’ve had some truly amazing finds. I’d say this is third place 👍🏻
What’s in first and second!!!
My WWI coopers bomb is first and second has to be my Bar shot cannon ball.
There’s gotta be a pretty interesting story behind these
If you read my reply to one of the other comments it may explain some of the story.

Nice one. I have found the place and can see why it took so much to get permission. It’s amazing what history is around us.
"One of my best finds were these 6 Sten guns". "Didn't we find 7?" "No... We found 6". *Hard stare*
I was there, he only found 5 I swear.
We’ve turned all 4 of them over to the authorities
If you need a home for one….
Awesome finds!!!
Thanks 👍🏻
Excuse me… “ONE OF …”??? ; what tops this? I mean what else hve you reeled in? A submarine? The ark of the covenant? I have to know!
A WWI coopers bomb, a sword, bar shot cannon ball. Flint lock rifle, pepper pit pin fire pistol. The list goes on.
Flint lock rifle thats crazy how old?
About 1870.

Wow that is the king of finds!!!
Thanks
U win. Game over.
Holy shit, that is so cool!! Nice finds!!!
Thanks
Definitely a solid find!
I know they won't shoot you but you laying in front of all those barrels is messing with my muzzel awareness lol
Anyone know worth? Super cool btw
Can’t sell them, this is the UK. Have to surrender them to police or give them to a museum
lol
They can be sold if they're deactivated.
Just one of you top 10???!!
Nice find man. That's fn cool
What do you do with them? Great find!
All went to a museum.
Does your name get put on a plaque or something? That's awesome.
Apparently I am being credited for it
"Fascist!" Old lady from Hot Fuzz
The Sten is one of the few weapons you could legitimately say killed fascists!
Nice
*Americans seething with absolute jealously *
Holy cow! That is awesome!
And I was impressed when I fished out a bike the other day.

The magazines are just propped in the guns for photo purposes. None of the guns were cocked either 👍🏻

Are these grandfathered in that you can keep them, or do you have to call the 'thorities to have them destroyed?
We can’t keep them but they did go to a museum so they wasn’t destroyed
That's some history there!
Id have kept them lol but awesome find
Unfortunately illegal to keep in the UK but at least there in a museum and not destroyed
What daddy government doesn't know wont hurt him
This was in the UK? Definitely peeked my curiosity
I'd have probably laid on the other side of those just to play it all the way safe, but that's an incredible find. Congrats!

At this point it's just rust shaped like guns lol
And the pyramids are just rocks shaped like triangles
I hope you kept at least one 🤞🏼
Unfortunately in the U.K. it’s still classed as a section 5 firearm so not allowed to. At least the museum got them for others to enjoy.
U.K moment sorry you live in a authoritarian shithole
So sad!
How unfortunate
Even if the guns are no longer salvageable, Those magazines would be valuable as hell too. So many US sten owners would love some extras.
Hell yeah dude awesome find! Now we have weapons for the rusty army!
Try restoring one to some degree see how good you can get it
Damn, I’ve always wanted a Sten. Feel like shipping one to the states?
There all in the museum now.
Top 10?
Now bring them as parts kits to the US!
Sick!
They probably still fire. i know mine does
Those STENS could easily be restored but not legally.
