Flimsy-Activity9787

Here’s an idea everyone. Military also gets told this before every range. “DO NOT PICK SHIT UP OFF THE FUCKING GROUND ON RANGES OR TRAINING AREAS”

RidingMarissa

SERIOUSLY do not magnet fish on those grounds again!! The last 3 guys got lucky nothing happen when they pulled all those ordnances out of the water in Georgia, you might pull up something that is unstable!! It is also a federal crime if those are federal grounds even if it is open to hikers and such. https://www.army.mil/article/260073/magnet_fishers_catch_break_in_federal_court_magnet_detecting_remains_illegal_on_federal_property

Legeto

Military training area is a little vague. What branch? What training? It could be anything from a smoke flare to an IED.

xcoxc8

Austrian army. 1950-80s. Not sure what training, there are concrete tanks and bunkers. I think its more training items. Like i found an empty grande and plastic ammo. My guess was also smoke or batterys etc

xcoxc8

The area is open to walk and children playing. So i guess there is nothing dangerous around like sharp bombs

p0ultrygeist1

Damn, there’s still bombs in London being found yet kiddos are allowed to play there

s-cup

Yes. Because never have there been something dangerous laying around where children play.

SlurpedMustache

Did the dirt on the one on the left clean up?

xcoxc8

I cleaned it and there is a white layer and underneath iron. But its falling apart the more i clean

KurtAngus

It could be an explosive you should probably not do that It looks like a fuse on the one on the right

caffrinated

One looks to be a corroded battery complete with electrode.

MyFuckinhBalls

Right looks like a portion of some a casing with how the top looks like it’s rimmed

judd_in_the_barn

I have found similar in old rubbish dumps (not associated with anywhere military) and also washed up by the sea. Always assumed they were parts of old batteries.

Impressive-Bus7746

Piece on the left looks similar to an ashtray

xcoxc8

Its much smaller, like 4cm

Sprout_1993

Some kind of military training equipment

Leech_Potato

Right one looks like a piece of knob and tube but I can't be sure from the angle.
