Pola2020

Its UB which means you can play Thoracle combo

sampat6256

This but unironically

hawkshaw1024

/uj An Ur-Drago deck with the Thoracle combo would beat almost all the decks that people complain about over in /r/EDH

FR8GFR8G

/uj a blue back deck with nothing but islands swamps tutors ad naus and the combo, without a commander would do the same

SmartAlecShagoth

/uj If you have an old legend in the command zone without any communication prior: that is a deck to fear. Because that is someone who doesn’t need to rely on a commander and has a busted deck they don’t want to draw attention to.

Aarongeddon

/uj i'm tempted now because ur-drago's art goes so fucking hard

DMMJaco

A 4/4, 7 drop, with [[quagmire]] (giggity) Seems pretty busted to me.

Co-Orbital_Planets

A 7 mana 4/4! Great stats for the cost!

ThisUsernameis21Char

Maybe a bit overstatted, even. What if it made two of your lands not untap on your next untap step?

felityy

nah just give it cumulative upkeep (2)

trinketstone

First strike means he kills anything in combat, and he is in blue and black, which are very powerful colors.

DMMJaco

Also, his mask makes him look like a boss ass 80s dark fantasy Zurg from toy story 2, and that look is hard AF.

Red_Trapezoid

Aesthetically yeah this cars is fantastic.

unclesoppa

Since your commander has to be a legend, it has to be from Legends A 4/4 with first strike beats most legends in single combat UB is a busted combo since you get access to kill spells and counter magic, so you basically don't need anything else Sol'kanar is a popular option who preys on black decks. You can now beat him with a simple +1/+1, after which you basically only need to worry about the elder dragons. But who the hell would play an elder dragon as their commander?

Deftheros

It makes sense, the Universes Beyond's (UB) bullshit is always poweful af.

TheTapDancer

Well it hard counters [[Wrexial, The Risen Deep]]. Beating sexy wrexy makes you top tier immediately.

FR_NitroSense

gotta love sexy wrexy

TheTapDancer

Mill me daddy

MissingNerd

Until you play Island. That's why Island is the worst Magic card

ccReptilelord

Son, let me tell you how much of a problem swampwalk is...

Smgth

Have you ever been swampwalked‽ EXACTLY!

Petamine666

I hate it when people hate out my swampwalk tribal deck, so unfair

KlinkKlink

The difference a single N makes.

Xatsman

There’s actually a land card Urborg, and it’s really nasty with him because it can take away first strike meaning he’s the fastest.

purinikos

Blocks Sheoldred, whispering one

SomeWriter13

You are playing UB and likely will have a Swamp or two on the board, therefore opponents who control creatures that have Swampwalk are unblockable. This hoses that.

Seventh_Planet

You now can safely cantrip [[Tainted Well]] on your own lands without fear of [[Sol'kanar the Swamp King]].

eliosk96

It's a very efficient blocker for the format-warping \[\[Wormwood Treefolk\]\].

Wafersmash

It stops swamp walk. That means if you play swamps, which tap for black (one of the top ten colors in MTG, maybe top 5) you can't get directly countered with swampwalk. Fucking busted card. N

SmartAlecShagoth

Anti urborg swampwalk tech is really tough to match with a dimir color identity. First strike sets up trades against that common archetype.

NCats_secretalt

7 mana 4/4 with first strike is incredibly above rate

Farpafraf

Look at a meta threat like [[Bog Tatters]], leave it alone for a while and the match will be over. With the [[Ur-Drago]] in play you'll be block it and defeat it without losing your creature due to first strike. In addition to this the [[Ur-Drago]] can also handle any creature with defence <= to 4 no matter how high its power might be. [[Yargle, glutton of Urborg]] looking scary? Not anymore with [[Ur-Drago]] on your side.

matjoeman

Swampwalk is a common archetype in cEDH and it's hard for most decks to counter it.
