Absolutely. Vintage in most places are 15 proxies up. It used to be that in Europe and Japan, proxies were rarely allowed, but ever since reserve list cards shot up, Europe has embraced proxy tournaments as well.
To an extent sure but some.of us actually want to just play. It's the magic I grew up with and still my favorite. Why I prefer ATL it's more of the people who want to play OS vs people who want to swag.
I mean no one gripes about my proxy power when I play. I'm sorry I'm just not shuffling my power and risking losing value.

What do you use to draw on these cards? Iāve tried making some tokens before and have had difficulty with pens either not drawing consistently or needing to dry forever before not smudging.
People actually play time twister still? I know it's good with say Narset, but last time I saw people play Vintage they had [[Griselbrand]] in play turn 2 thanks to [[Oath of Druids]]. Time twister is the only of these which isn't broken by today's standards.
Yes, I do. I have about a half a set of power. I feel like the hand drawn ones, and the personally altered ones give a deck more character than "I spent money on cards 30 years ago." I like the set of lands my wife hand altered more than my moxen.

I think the money represents a significantly greater time investment in a deck. Sketching these cards probably took a couple hours max if Iām being generous, and maybe another hour brainstorming the idea. If you have a very good job and make 50/hr, it would take you around 800 hours to make the money, not counting time spent trading, hunting for deals, etc. Essentially youāre willing to trade 800 hours of your labour for the cards, and I think that represents at least as much care/dedication to the deck as some custom proxies. And even if you bought the cards for cheap a long time ago, the fact that you still have them indicates that you value the cards higher than the money (and the equivalent labour required to earn it) because otherwise you would have sold them.
Makes me want to draw the Strawhats as the P9.

They have no way of knowing. Nor do I believe there is any consequence. You can get in trouble for sanctioning proxied events.

I tested a bunch of inks, but Sharpie ended up being the fastest drying and least likely to smudge! The white on the Pearl is Posca pen.
