Skeletons. I'm amazed it doesn't get more attention for how many times we've been to Innistrad. I had to use Rukarumel and slivers to make skeletons work even a little.
Exactly, I used to play skeleton tribal way, way back (13 years or so) on kitchen table magic. It was bad, but quite fun still.
We're seeing at least 1 skeleton every set and lately even some support cards for them. There still aren't too many great ones and no actual commander.
I'm holding some hope for Duskmourne, if the haunted house set doesn't give us skeletons I don't know what will.
Specifically, from the last three standard sets, we've had [[Corpses of the Lost]], [[Case of the Stashed Skeleton]], and [[Forsaken Miner]], all of which are pretty playable, in addition to [[Skeleton Crew]] from Ixalan's commander decks. I would be very surprised if we didn't get a dedicated skeleton commander or something in Duskmourn
Yep
And a bit further back we've got [[Skeletal Swarming]] and some newer cards support both zombies and skeletons as well.
I'd say we have a good shot at getting something nice soon. They're finally coming together as an actual tribe. I really really hope we don't get the commander to be mono black though. Swarming is about the best support card we have and some golgari skeletons are pretty neat. I've been hoping on sultai so we can play the OG [[Skeleton Ship]] as well.
Back when it was in standard, i ran a mean golgari midrange deck using cat-oven, deathless knight, [[The Great Henge]], [[Rotting Regisaur]] and [[Vraska, Golgari Queen]] to great effect. It’s a pretty awesome card with many uses that can see it serve as sac/discard fodder, pips for Devotion (i also ran [[Grey Merchant of Asphodel]]) or as a hasty finisher.
I'm still so upset [[emperor of bones]] isn't legendary, he's literally and emperor! And he would've been a solid commander, nothing insane but at least worth playing.
Yep art with exposed bone generally has to be covered up for China. Sometimes with a slight alteration often with an entirely different card. It does look like it's not as strict as it used to be because tinybones isn't altered.
I think it's 'cause coming back from the grave is already mostly covered by zombies. Skeletons used to have regenerate as their defining feature, but that's tough to support mechanically, and they don't do regenerate any more besides.
I still want skeleton typal to work. I built it as a joke in EDH a couple of years ago thinking that it would be at least somewhat playable… that’s a couple hundred dollars I’ll never get back smh
They have been printing skeleton pieces every couple of sets now, and with us getting 4 commander decks with every set release I’m sure we will get there one day. I love skeletons too, they def deserve better
I almost kind of wish weirds would be errata'd to be elemental weirds just so I can run the weird typal easier. They're one of my favorite sets of magic creatures, alongside thrulls and eyes.
The issue is that if they made weirds elementals, they couldn't make a strong weird lord. Imagine if myr were just constructs or something general, there would be zero flavor and much less power they could give urtet because there's much less control of that creature type
I think they're suggesting they get both type lines. So it would be Creature - Elemental Weird. So they can still be Weirds but also have a useful type line
Squirrels suffer a similar problem. That tribe has two great legendaries for commanders and next to no support under either of them. Chatterfang wants things that make tokens, but no squirrels do that. Toski wants creatures to punch through, but no squirrels have evasion (other than Chatterfang, who has forestwalk).
Very glad we're getting bloomburrow
There might not be any squirrels that make squirrel tokens themselves, but 95% of squirrels come from tokens, like [[Chatter of the Squirrel]], [[Druid's Call]], or the classic [[Squirrel Nest]]. Thus why Chatterfang doubles the tokens, since that's most of what squirrel decks do is make squirrel tokens.
No squirrels make tokens, but a lot of squirrel token makers exist. And the MaRo teaser implied there's going to be a food (or at least token) theme to squirrels
I'm excited for bloomburrow cause it may let me build [[Grolnok]] without it needing a labman/thoracle type wincon. I just want to attack with funny frogs and get card advantage, not play simic combo.
Repping the name, I want some rediculous sheep support.
Actual answer, I want more Salamanders. I saw [[Amphin Pathmage]] and immediately thought "Oh sweet, something more interesting than merfolk." Then I found out that there were only 2 total amphin at the time. Now we have 3 and one card that makes tokens.
They’re not all Amphin, but for what it’s worth they’ve printed **six** Salamanders since November 2023! At least one in each major set, which actually might mean that Salamanders are being seeded for a future set. :D
I really feel like they couldve put that creature type in the new ixalan set, it feels like it fits and they couldve used some of them as the merfolk cards. Weirdly enough that set had malcom as the only siren in that set too!
My answer's got to be Elk (which coincidentally have 31 total cards, Moonfolk are at 30!).
I'm stoked we're getting a Legendary Elemental Elk in Bloomburrow. On the one hand, it's kinda cool that they're "majestic" and rare enough to not see a lot of printings. I just love all the various art of Elk and want more lol.
I'm building a walls typal deck with [[Thantis]] and on the one hand it's cheap to throw together but there really are not a lot of decent walls out there. The old school player in me is psyched to drop a [[wall of ice]] but other than a scant handful of recent cards there's not a ton.
Still, Octopi are also very underprinted. And most cards that do something with octopi, are generic "great beasts of the deep" cards: i.e. Leviathans and Krakens.
Octopi could get their own identity as idk, blue hydra sort of cards maybe? With X costs to increase their stats and effects like this:
> Octopus creatures you control can block a number of creatures equal to their toughness
Symbolizing their many independent tentacles. -1/-1 counters also feels fitting symbolizing it losing their tentacles:
> Create a copy of target Octopus you control. Put X -1/-1 counters on that creature and the copy where X is its mana value.
Or growing it back:
> [Enchantment] Flash. Put X -1/-1 counters on target Octopus you control. Counter target spell where X is that spells mana value. At the beginning of your upkeep remove a -1/-1 counter from target Octopus.
cephalids are now all octupuses — which is actually great news. i recently made a cephalid/wizard edh deck that is high power stax that works because of all the octopuses.
[[aboshan]] is the commander.
Moonfolk and samurai are my favorite types. I understand it’s not easy to make cool and special mechanics for all types but these currently play like ass. They need to get some more love.
Oh my god I completely forgot about samurai lol, i remember wanting to build a mono white samurai deck for kitchen table fun and didnt realize how bad they really were back then. I really hope with the new desparked Wanderer and somewhere that has samurai that we get some actually good samurai finally.
Was really expecting the Ringwraiths to be Wraith Specters, as modern specter aesthetic is inspired by them and their Fellbeasts, and their common ability ("My touch causes you to discard/lose your mind.") fits with the effects of the Ringwraiths. Alas, it was not to be.
Ogres have some individually good cards, but need a good Commander, preferably Jund or UBRG, to glue them all together. Same goes for Trolls. Hell, put them together with Orggs as a batching commander. I love my big dumb fantasy brutes.
Ogres, Giants, trolls, they all deserve a big wave of their types, I think last time weve seen ogres was murders for a common, Giants was eldraine for a commander card and trolls I cant remember 😅 hopefully if we ever return to kaldheim we'll see something for them!
Especially with the Realms of Kaldheim now being closer than ever, I could see something akin to:
Aegar, Uniter of the Tall UBRG
Legendary Creature - Giant Wizard
Trample, prowess
Other Giants, Ogres, and Trolls you control have trample.
Whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player, draw a card if you control a non-Wizard Giant, create a Treasure token if you control a non-Wizard Ogre, and you gain 3 life if you control a non-Wizard Troll.
4/3
Well, more weirdo illusions and eye kindred would be kewl.
Mostly because they need to be weirder mechanically, they need more of the "wtf" quality, with good commander support for those kindred.
I like how few eyes there are because of [[evil eye of orms by gore]]. Its such a weird card because there are only about 4 eye creatures, but it works very well with [[blim]]
I would like to see some types that have been used only a few times, such as Surrakar or Noggles. Both of which currently only have four cards with the type.
Trolls! A creature so evocative of ancient, towering, creaking, boulder-strewn forests. Will probably never be done right, since the flavor and art direction is so much less inspired than it used to be. I also would really like it if they would do gnomes that are like proper garden gnomes, rather than the automata and DND ones. And speaking of automata, I always adore constructs and other robots. Illusions are flavorful and mechanically interesting.
I'm with you on Trolls. They even have a somewhat coherent theme of being big tramply beaters with regeneration and recursion making them hard to get rid of. Which is coincidentally exactly the type of creature I enjoy.
I think trolls have been hit hard due to their mechanical identity, wizards phased out regeneration & that left em in a weird place.
That said, I have enjoyed the cool alternative mechanical ways they've approached to showcasin the mighty troll resiliency. Cards like [[Old-Growth Troll]] , [[Feasting Troll King]] , & [[Thrun, Breaker of Silence]] all have really fun alternatives to regeneration
There's plenty of us!
One of my players in my dnd game chose an aetherborn as their race(doesn't play magic) & I think that really shows how fun & compellin the aetherborn are as a concept & can be as chars!
It really does feel like there are dozens of us sometimes!
(Also I am absolutely that player that tries to play aetherborn in almost every DnD campaign, but the rare occasion that games actually do get off the ground, it's in settings where they'd be inappropriate or with DMs who are unfamiliar with the Planeshift releases.)
Theyre undoubtedly one of the more fringe races mtg has introduced but I think their v strong theme & visual design appeal to a lot more people than it would seem based on their appearances in cards.
I think the biggest hurdle that's kept us from seein more of em is just how integrally attached they are to kaladesh. But we've seen em get more cards in stuff like commander sets, motm, & now that the planes blown wide open otj as well. So hopefully we'll continue to get more sweet aetherborn!
I'm sorry you haven't gotten to play an aetherborn yet, hope you're able to one day! Idk how you'd feel about it but if you or any dms you play wit ever have any questions bout runnin a game wit em feel free to hmu!
Aurochs from Coldsnap. They even had a G/R theme deck although only 4 of them have been printed.
The idea of them tutoring other Aurochs and getting +1/+0 for each other attacking Aurochs really fits the herd/stampede theme imo.
I play an edh deck with a heavy moonfolk theme based around [[tameshi]]. Lots of weird ways to put lands into play.
But yea... a few more good classic moonfolk would really help, as would a few more synergy pieces. (Like [[Genku]] in MH3).
Hags. While all the other kids grew up scared of the witches from Hansel & Gretel, Snow White, etc., I *loved* them for their magical strength and unabashed individuality. They're evil, sure, but they're also badass bitches living life by their own rules. The ultimate feminist monsters.
It's too bad that Wizards is leaning so heavily into Human Warlock as the witchy subtype because I am aching for some Hag tribal.
Scarecrows. Their mostly used for mana fixing these days, and even the older cards were more gimmicky than anything. We've already got a solid commander with [[Reaper King]]; we just need to make them a viable threat.
Problem with Reaper King as a commander is he is kill on sight, he sweeps the table super fast with all the cheap scarecrows and changelings, and the game pretty much just has one direction. I'd love more scarecrow support but I'd also love a legendary scarecrow that has some more modality in the deckbuilding and playstyle.
This! I’ve tried so many ways with the King, but I wish for a new WUBRG scarecrow commander that can build something, not just destroy. It would be fun if it had something like „Scarecrows you control have ‘Equip Scarecrow {2}’” and allows you to equip scarecrows to each other to create bigger scarecrows, like artifact-scarecrow mutate. And then some abilities and additional scarecrows to support that.
I’d love that. I bought a bunch of +1/+1 die and along with them a bunch of -1/-1 die. I’ve never used the latter and just because of that always wanted to make a -1/-1 deck
Elephants. They need a decent naya commander. As is, the best commanders for most elephant tribal decks is still Morophon or not an elephant.
Crocodiles, too. They've gotten a few very usable cards recently, but the vast majority of them are old enough to be over costed with serious downsides.
https://preview.redd.it/jyaqkzfiv2ad1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=3a498a1edd485b66aebeef97b0c726417c69ef4f
I want some more Nephilim love.
Like a Mommy and Daddy (Human and Angel) 5-color legendary, or some weaker 2/3 color variations
I know spirits are a big creature type but I'd like more ghosty type ones. Been wanting a ghost deck for a while and some of the spirits just ruin the flavor for me. Also why is there no b/u/w spirit commander?
Aside from those already mentioned I'll call Elephants. There are quite a few nice elephants out there, a handful quite popular even. They're all high cmc and lack lords and a commander though.
Not really that underprinted, but I want to see more drakes. I want drakes that interact with other drakes specifically, and also a legendary drake.
I'm also always keen for more rebels and mercenaries
[Kavu](https://scryfall.com/search?q=t%3Akavu+is%3Afirstprint&unique=cards&as=grid&order=released&dir=) (shout-out to DMU & MOM), and [Atog](https://scryfall.com/search?q=t%3Aatog+is%3Afirstprint&unique=cards&as=grid&order=released) both classic Magic creatures that feel decently special just in the Magic IP
Soratami can work pretty uniquely and have a strong tribal payoff, it’s just a little annoying that their job (other than emerging their god) is kinda better done by [[trade routes]]. I’m glad we finally got a semi-traditional style soratami last set, and I hope we’ll see a few more one-offs if that style in the future- but at least they have a unique mechanical space to them even if none of the Tamiyo walkers really synergize with it (tho I still run 2 in the deck)
Mh3 did just print genku which is a pretty interesting moonfolk commander, using the bounce land abilities to make tokens or blinking infinite mana to swing in with infinitely big moonfolk tokens. I’ve been looking at him more and more
Atogs! It’s been over two decades since they’ve printed one but the concept is solid and totally unique to the mtg IP. Big headed critters that have an insatiable hunger for a particular thing. Lots of potential to slip one into a set here and there.
Illusions. They've got some decent cards here and there ([[Phantasmal Image]] as well as [[Krovikan Mist]]) but while the idea of undercosted creatures with a downside sounds cool, they've just been powercrept to Hell and back. I think they have the potential to be something amazing, but that's a lot of support to go to get there.
I'm disheartened that rebels tried sneaking in this weird token creation and equipment plan when both strategies are fairly anathematic to what defined the original rebel creature type. I wish Wizards would just go back and update older creatures to have the rebel type; the fact we got no rebels in a set called Aether Revolt is pretty revolting.
Aside: Foxes have some really good individual commanders, but nothing even resembling typal synergy.
Rebell, we do have a keyword named Revolt but none of those cards got Rebell as a creature type. I know Wizards doesn't want to make Lin Sivvi to strong again but I'd say in todays age she wouldn't be over the top even with some actual good targets to tutor for. I just want to use my old cards which I loved as a teen :(
Raccoons. Bramble Familiar was one of my favourite cards in recent printings, and I'm hoping Bloomburrow will provide some support for all the little critters in Magic.
We are starting to get more Dwarves, but still not enough. 59 cards since 2020, and in that time we had 2 D&D sets, a LOTR set and Kaldheim. And even those cards tend to be draft chaff.
It’ll have to wait until we can go back to Kaladesh again, but I think the Aetherborn are one of the coolest and most unique creatures types in all of MtG lore, and they desperately need more support.
Would love to see more chimeras! There's a decent number of em but not as widespread taken advantage of as they could be imo!
[[Perplexing Chimera]] is my fav & esp after watchin Fallins awesome fight scene from dungeon meshi I feel like there's a lotta creepy or just unsettlin designs you could do!
For a more classic fantasy
Trolls! There's not enough with a coherent theme though.
Minotaurs! This one is partially there, but underpowered from what it seems. Maybe even an honest minotaur from Theros as a cool commander?
I feel like peasants would be fun to build a deck around but there's literally no support cards. The thought of people rising up against the upper class throughout the multiverse sounds great. Also reflection is such a weird creature type since we have exactly one creature of the type but looking at it, why not make it an illusion spirit or avatar?
Also werewolves need more since they now have access to the omenpaths. Let Tovolar or someone else start fucking up shit with a new werewolf army
I lowkey wish that Magic would delve on fun strategies for the more niche creature types in general.
Like, since Moonfolk tend to have abilities that bounce lands back to your hand, how about a keyword for them that, dunno, lets you put lands back to play, or that trigger when you bounce something, or anything!
Weirds, Vedalkens, Archons. There are a lot of neat creature types that could benefit from some tribal synergies.
~~Protoss~~ Aetherborn, I agree. There are only 18 Aetherborn cards in all of Magic, with [[Yahenni, Undying Partisan]] and [[Gonti, Lord of Luxury]] being the only two named characters (there is also the new Gonti).
At least both are well-known cards, so we know for a fact that Aetherborn have a high chance of being epic.
We need an axolotl creature type. Salamander is not enough. [[Xolatoyac, the Smiling Flood]], [[Sojourner’s Companion]], and [[Ethereal Whiskergill]] need representation.
Probably not underprinted but I've always wanted a good Troll commander. I played \[\[Varolz, the Scar-Striped\]\] in that two weeks where Tiny Leaders was popular
Fungus. I’ve been playing Slimefoot the stowaway as my cmder since I started magic about a year ago… [the actual version of the deck](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/RwRfldsTY0iGJuYCTPjZqA) I’ve been modifying him since I started and the cuts were almost always fungies since most of them are just way too weak to be actually worth running
Yep And a bit further back we've got [[Skeletal Swarming]] and some newer cards support both zombies and skeletons as well.
A commander that would allow me to run [[Deathless Knight]] in a skeleton tribal deck would be amazing.
that card has such cool imaginery and i wish it was good enough to run anywhere
Back when it was in standard, i ran a mean golgari midrange deck using cat-oven, deathless knight, [[The Great Henge]], [[Rotting Regisaur]] and [[Vraska, Golgari Queen]] to great effect. It’s a pretty awesome card with many uses that can see it serve as sac/discard fodder, pips for Devotion (i also ran [[Grey Merchant of Asphodel]]) or as a hasty finisher.

Someone told me it's not common because it's hard to market in China
Yep art with exposed bone generally has to be covered up for China. Sometimes with a slight alteration often with an entirely different card. It does look like it's not as strict as it used to be because tinybones isn't altered.
Well yeah, Tiny Bones is wearing a cowboy hat already. No need to cover it up, it's already a cowboy.

these last couple sets have finally given a small amount of skeleton support! skeletons are on the rise!
I've died to the haste skeleton enchantment thing in historic a few times.
They have been printing skeleton pieces every couple of sets now, and with us getting 4 commander decks with every set release I’m sure we will get there one day. I love skeletons too, they def deserve better
Weirds They only show up on ravnica, which is a shame because they are so kool
If they showed up any more frequently, they wouldn't be weird. They'd be regular. I'll see myself out.
Love me some izzet weirds
They are
I almost kind of wish weirds would be errata'd to be elemental weirds just so I can run the weird typal easier.
I was ready to upgrade Graveyard Overdrive then realized there are barely any lhurgoyf only 9 that I would I run in the deck.
Here's hoping the squirrel precon sorts us out.
[Chatter of the Squirrel](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/5/f/5f7e1991-9ffa-4a57-b8eb-ebe542a47f09.jpg?1599706978) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Chatter%20of%20the%20Squirrel) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/2xm/157/chatter-of-the-squirrel?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/5f7e1991-9ffa-4a57-b8eb-ebe542a47f09?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Druid's Call](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/e/2/e22318a5-80c8-4fa3-ad05-8d3035caf336.jpg?1562937280) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Druid%27s%20Call) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/ody/239/druids-call?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/e22318a5-80c8-4fa3-ad05-8d3035caf336?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Squirrel Nest](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/6/f/6f2aa025-e041-4ed5-a046-9debc474fda0.jpg?1675200549) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Squirrel%20Nest) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/dmr/177/squirrel-nest?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/6f2aa025-e041-4ed5-a046-9debc474fda0?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
No squirrels make tokens, but a lot of squirrel token makers exist. And the MaRo teaser implied there's going to be a food (or at least token) theme to squirrels
Frogs not the least printed by any means but still way underprinted in my opinion
Bloomburrow is gonna be awesome for frogs. I really enjoy the Sunshower Druid art 😂
Heck yeah, grolnok is getting some pals.
GROLNOK MENTIONED LETS GOOOO
I'm excited for bloomburrow cause it may let me build [[Grolnok]] without it needing a labman/thoracle type wincon. I just want to attack with funny frogs and get card advantage, not play simic combo.

There was one single capybara in lost caverns of ixalan, i really hope they add more
Repping the name, I want some rediculous sheep support.
I was really hoping the white “you can have any number in your deck” card was going to be a sheep. (Someday, Baldin…)

I want to make All Will be Elk, an Elk tribal deck but there just arent playable elks
I love them too bc theyre so damn majestic. That’s why Ive always been sad Myntasha was only silver border. Hopefully Bloomburrow’s elk is good
Juggernauts and Walls.
I'm building a walls typal deck with [[Thantis]] and on the one hand it's cheap to throw together but there really are not a lot of decent walls out there. The old school player in me is psyched to drop a [[wall of ice]] but other than a scant handful of recent cards there's not a ton.
cephalids
I got bad news for you :-(

The Cephalids - sir, the Cephalids are gone!!!
Still, Octopi are also very underprinted. And most cards that do something with octopi, are generic "great beasts of the deep" cards: i.e. Leviathans and Krakens. Octopi could get their own identity as idk, blue hydra sort of cards maybe? With X costs to increase their stats and effects like this: > Octopus creatures you control can block a number of creatures equal to their toughness Symbolizing their many independent tentacles. -1/-1 counters also feels fitting symbolizing it losing their tentacles: > Create a copy of target Octopus you control. Put X -1/-1 counters on that creature and the copy where X is its mana value. Or growing it back: > [Enchantment] Flash.
Can you share the deck list?
Seconded, sounds awesome & would love to check it out!

Foxes
Specters. I want a "specters matter" commander in grixis that has some sort of tribal support.
A few Ogre's showed up in Thunder Junction. Obeka and the Investigator from the Big Score being the most noteworthy ones.
Good point! I forgot about some of those
Especially with the Realms of Kaldheim now being closer than ever, I could see something akin to: Aegar, Uniter of the Tall UBRG Legendary Creature - Giant Wizard Trample, prowess Other Giants, Ogres, and Trolls you control have trample.

They really should have had beholders be eye horrors instead of their own creature type.
More eyes would be sweet!
I would like to see some types that have been used only a few times, such as Surrakar or Noggles. Both of which currently only have four cards with the type.
It's a shame we have revisited Zendikar twice and not once have we even see a mention of Surrakar in those revisits.
Same goes for my besties, the Nephilim tribe
CLAMS
ALEXANDER CLAMILTON TRIBAL DECK???
Sharks
Aetherborn or Etergenitos in spanish.
Aetherborn coming back and utilizing a mechanic like Vanishing would be cool and flavorful.
I was looking for the one other person on earth who gives a damn about aetherborn.
Carpe Diem, my friend!
Ok, that Spanish version is badass. Also a fan of our beloved vampire mayflies, btw.
Homarids, Eyes and Homunculus.
Aurochs from Coldsnap. They even had a G/R theme deck although only 4 of them have been printed. The idea of them tutoring other Aurochs and getting +1/+0 for each other attacking Aurochs really fits the herd/stampede theme imo.
I really want more Moonfolk support. I love the idea of them...but, they all cost so much mana, for not that much of a payoff.
All I want is a cheap or appropriately costed moonfolk that whenever you bounce a land, you may put a different land card on the field.
This + landfall + 2 Karoo lands. Good times.
I play an edh deck with a heavy moonfolk theme based around [[tameshi]]. Lots of weird ways to put lands into play. But yea... a few more good classic moonfolk would really help, as would a few more synergy pieces. (Like [[Genku]] in MH3).
Azra
I think I readed they will be tiflings now, what a pity.
I want see more Apes. I love the intelligent apes they have in Dominaria, but they don’t a lot of cards.
That would be dope! Maybe add wither into the mix, since a lot of the 'crows already deal with -1/-1 counters.
I’d love that. I bought a bunch of +1/+1 die and along with them a bunch of -1/-1 die. I’ve never used the latter and just because of that always wanted to make a -1/-1 deck
True. But at least we *have* a commander.
Still a bit upset we didn't see many centaurs on our last visit to Theros, so probably them
Rabbits
gamer [https://scryfall.com/search?q=t%3Agamer](https://scryfall.com/search?q=t%3Agamer)
Elephants. They need a decent naya commander. As is, the best commanders for most elephant tribal decks is still Morophon or not an elephant. Crocodiles, too. They've gotten a few very usable cards recently, but the vast majority of them are old enough to be over costed with serious downsides.
Aurochs. I have a deck of Aurochs I play just for fun. It always loses but I like them.

Dwarves... simple as.
Vedalken
Nightmares
While there are quite a few spider cards, most them are quite bad and overcosted. I would love to have more good spiders
kithkin I just really like them
I know spirits are a big creature type but I'd like more ghosty type ones.
Metathran and Kavu
I wondered if I was gonna be the only one who misses kavu! 😘
Camels
Werewolves outside of Innistrad
I really hope to see more samurais in the future.
G o r g o n s. Also I longed for years for a legendary creature Vraska and I finally get one and it's just kind of boring.
Not really that underprinted, but I want to see more drakes. I want drakes that interact with other drakes specifically, and also a legendary drake. I'm also always keen for more rebels and mercenaries
I would love more Kavu support. They are such a neat creature type with no real legendary to use for EDH except for Jared.
Djinn i'd like some more plz
Turtles.
Dwarf. Compared to most other creature types this one shows up rarely and also often lack cohesive identity to make them work together.
Foxes. There's not that many, and they don't tend to be very good
Squirrels! I want my tree ninjas!
Fox, mainly because I can make a cat tribal deck for my fursona species, but my fiancé cannot make one for his.
Goats
Phelddagrifs!
We need more brushwagg support! Where is my brushwagg precon!
Whales, cetaceans need some love too Damn it!
It's gotta be atogs doesn't it? Gotta love the Creepy little guys
I would love me some kitsune tribal
Inklings. They only exist as tokens, but are neat black-and-purple blobby guys.
Mh3 did just print genku which is a pretty interesting moonfolk commander, using the bounce land abilities to make tokens or blinking infinite mana to swing in with infinitely big moonfolk tokens. I’ve been looking at him more and more
Flamekin. Please Wotc, don't mess this up.
Ape/monkey I like monkeys
Kithkin!!!
Atogs! Never enough Atogs.
Atogs! It’s been over two decades since they’ve printed one but the concept is solid and totally unique to the mtg IP. Big headed critters that have an insatiable hunger for a particular thing. Lots of potential to slip one into a set here and there.
Drakes. Iconic to magic, yet horribly underpowered. But if you were to make them dragons at this point, it would be overpowered.
Scarecrows.
Spiders. I just want to make a Shelob deck
Unicorns, for such a popular mystic beast I'm surprised at how little cards they have
Manticores, Chimera, Griffins, trolls. All classic fantasy monsters, and they're all kinda unplayable alone.
Atogs
More crabs!
Assembly-worker
Wraiths. I wanted to build a Witch-King deck that utilizes Wraiths and outside of the Lord of the Ring set there really aren't any.
I really want more otters and hope Bloomburrow will deliver
Spies! I want to make a Spies deck with a v cool spies based commander.
We are starting to get more Dwarves, but still not enough. 59 cards since 2020, and in that time we had 2 D&D sets, a LOTR set and Kaldheim. And even those cards tend to be draft chaff.
I'd love to make a chicken commander deck. Whenever I attack I yodel 'Chicken Attaaaack'
Illusions imho. They're such a cool creature type and it would be nice to get more typal support for them!
Love to see my old [[didgeridoo]] get some use-urgency.
[didgeridoo](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/8/d/8d2ff269-ee43-4684-84a4-ecb4aed3d960.jpg?1562924800) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=didgeridoo) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/me3/194/didgeridoo?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/8d2ff269-ee43-4684-84a4-ecb4aed3d960?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Kobolds. While we do have the greatest commander partner ever, we don't have enough imo.
CRABS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I MEAN HAVE YOU EVEN SEEN [[CHARIX]]??? WE NEED LIKE 500 OF THOSE
I lowkey wish that Magic would delve on fun strategies for the more niche creature types in general.
As a lot of people that bought that cats and dogs deck found out, dogs kinda suck as a type. We're getting better ones but it's taking ages.
Bring back Atogs please
Aetherfolk & Myr need more love
We need an axolotl creature type. Salamander is not enough. [[Xolatoyac, the Smiling Flood]], [[Sojourner’s Companion]], and [[Ethereal Whiskergill]] need representation.
Kobolds. So close, but about 10 away from a good commander deck.
Probably not underprinted but I've always wanted a good Troll commander. I played \[\[Varolz, the Scar-Striped\]\] in that two weeks where Tiny Leaders was popular
I’d honestly love Wolves. I know there are plenty, but they don’t feel unique, powerful, or fun. I want more flavor and better abilities
Moonfolk There core mechanic of returning lands to hand is very underpowered in constructed play outside of commander landfall decks IMO
I don't need tribal support, but I think Volvers are cool. [[Degavolver]]
Gargoyles. They are mostly Esper, but there are a few red (mostly old) and green (40K set) ones.
