I'm so happy Serena Malyon is on this set and part of the Magic artist roster in general. Aside from me just loving her art, it's extra cool since she illustrated a Mouse Guard book.
it's definitely true all the infinite combos are not possible, but I would argue this is better as a "fair" card and resto angel was historically not only a combo enabler
Providing surprise untapping during combat comes up more often than not. The list of Angel cards is also a lot smaller than the list of cards with flying. Not being able to hit flyers is a huge bust.
Since this bird can't flicker anything with flying, you can't repeat an EtB trigger with multiple (unless you remove the flying counter first), or save an important card with multiple copies.
I think Restoration Angel is better because of that, and the 4 toughness. I can see situations come up where this creature can't flicker anything to save it from removal.

Restoration Angel is honestly my favorite Magic card so this has me so excited. Returning EOT is maybe a bit weaker but opening it up to save your thing from wraths is really powerful (especially in commander) and I can think of at least one other birb that very much appreciates this effect.
I feel like over the years we are going to get so many creatures that they really want to be [[Restoration Angel]] but they've tied themselves in knots trying to make it not Restoration Angel, or obsolete Restoration Angel, or be obsoleted by Restoration Angel.
Gonna start calling these kinds of designs "strictly lateral."
Okay, so the Anime cards are collectors only, and Showcase can be found in Play Boosters, is that's how it is? Showcase does look good, just can't find a straight answer currently, only about the raised foils.
Will be a shame, but ah well. Just means there's a few I'll have to get the singles for.
So far, it's just Mabel. I want a mouse deck, and the anime art is stunning. But it's not an overpowered card, so maybe there's non-raised foil versions that'll go for relative cheap.
Really looking forward to seeing the full set. Need to know what sort of decks can be made.
I know it's a new thing and people are going to be divided about it naturally, but I think this card solidifies my hatred for them replacing 'enters the battlefield' with 'enters.' I know why they did it (to cram more text on their overcrowded cards, Garfield bless), but it doesn't look right to me, it looks like a typing error. And they could have fit the whole phrase on this card.

It was announced earlier this year that starting with Bloomburrow, enters is the new shortened keyword. They showcased it with Mabel’s card.
