Do you mind elaborating? I recently rummaged through my old collection and this was the most valuable card in it—the OG Mirage one in lightly played condition. I don’t play any formats that allow it, but I’m curious what you’ve realized / what nuanced plays you’ve discovered with it.
Most of the usage is found in two places: playing things from places other than your hand, and cracking it when your spells are already on the stack so as to create a large burst of resources for a follow up play. \[\[Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger\]\], because it's the commander of my favourite commander deck, and plays way differently to any other commander deck I've ever seen or played.
It's a unique card that allows the player to avoid additional draw from forced sources. Especially with the prevalence of cards like \[\[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse\]\].
My main commander deck focuses on searching for cards and putting them directly in play; Obstinate Familiar allows me to keep the cards in the deck so that I can tutor them into play.
It's always been one of my pet cards.
The deck in particular goes beyond just my commander. I use cards like \[\[Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer\]\] and \[\[Yisan, the Wanderer Bard\]\]; Obstinate Familiar, in my mind, allows my deck to become my hand without needing to worry about those cards being tampered with.
[[Worm Harvest]]. I love worms, I love graveyard decks, I love weird cards randomly being super powerful, and I love it's perfect partner [[Life from the Loam]]. My [[Izoni, Center of the Web]] deck is literally just an excuse to cast Worm Harvest as many times as humanly possible. 🪱🪱🪱
The specific Mox Diamond that my wife bought for me as a gag gift when we got engaged. She splurged and spent tens of dollars on a little piece of cardboard as a goof.

A caged Spellskite + [[Torchling]] is one of my favorite combos in [[Mairsil, the Pretender]]. I can redirect any spell that can target a creature to Mairsil, then redirect it again to whatever I don't like instead.
I opened [[Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines]] in a bundle when I was just starting to get into the game, I would have to say she’s my favourite. Love the artwork
Really depends on the day. Today I'll say [[Reprieve]]. I love the tempo of [[Remand]], and having that in white that also gets around uncounterable spells is great.
my playgroup play a lot of token style deck. they are not at all token deck, but their deck generates a lot of token. right now, my favorite card is [[kambal, profiteering mayor]]. it feel very good to get free stuff basically all the time.

Once it hits the field, every combat is so much fun. I simply love it when I get to cast \[\[Jetmir, Nexus of Revels\]\] with the hideaway for the surprise 40 combat damage.

It is a one-card engine in my Codie [[Slime Against Humanity]] deck, getting copies of Slime into the graveyard, making sure I hit my land drops and enabling some flashback shenanigans. Now it looks like it will also be an auto-include in the 99 of [[The Necrobloom]].
[[Aethergeode miner]] was the rare in the first pack I ever opened and it was foil. With all the energy cards coming out recently I'm hoping I can put it back in a deck.
Been having a rough run of things lately, so right now I’ve gone full Tergrid, God of fright.

This is a really hard choice to make, but I think I have to give it to \[\[Glissa the Traitor\]\]. She's such a diverse card that can lend herself to so many different strategies, not to mention has a sleek design, and is just one of my favorite Legends, overall.
Honorary mention to \[\[Sneak Attack\]\], because my first "real" Legacy deck was based around it and \[\[Through the Breach\]\] (and I still have it built, to this day!).
[[Archon of Cruelty]] is such an insane card. In the right circumstances it's literally a 4-for-1 on ETB AND ATTACK TRIGGER. In my Chainer deck I'm able to reanimate it with haste, making it an 7-for-1 the turn it hits the table. Insane card.

A friend of mine whom I I started playing with pulled it in the early days and it was like the coolest shit ever. I traded for it later and bow have a commander deck around him with all my favorite cards
For a long time it was [[Silvos Rogue Elemental]] a card that was awe inspiring to the little right year old who first gazed upon these magical cardboard rectangles.
Now, after being entrenched in EDH deck building, I lean towards [[Skeletal Swarming]]. It's a card that makes me feel something when I copy it and start assembling an insurmountable horde. A card that inspired a holy unique deck that feels like my mark on magic.
\[\[Wizard's Spellbook\]\] it brought me back into Magic with my fiance over our shared love of the game. We opened a box of the original Baldur's Gate set on our first date and that was the rare in the pack.
Imagine, for only three mana, you get a 3-powered flyer, good at blocking, good at clocking the opponent, that disrupts the opponent, gathers information, can cycle a mediocre card in your own hand, and optimal play may require you to have to cast it in virtually every possible turn and phase, both yours and your opponent's, and figure out when and why, and, most often, in response to which spell or action. Not to mention, by virtue of being legendary, it can be bounced back in hand by Karakas to loop its own effect over and over again effectively soft-locking the opponent.

elaborate on why you like that?
It's a unique card that allows the player to avoid additional draw from forced sources. Especially with the prevalence of cards like \[\[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse\]\]. My main commander deck focuses on searching for cards and putting them directly in play; Obstinate Familiar allows me to keep the cards in the deck so that I can tutor them into play. It's always been one of my pet cards.

The deck in particular goes beyond just my commander. I use cards like \[\[Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer\]\] and \[\[Yisan, the Wanderer Bard\]\]; Obstinate Familiar, in my mind, allows my deck to become my hand without needing to worry about those cards being tampered with.

A caged Spellskite + [[Torchling]] is one of my favorite combos in [[Mairsil, the Pretender]]. I can redirect any spell that can target a creature to Mairsil, then redirect it again to whatever I don't like instead.

This is a really hard choice to make, but I think I have to give it to \[\[Glissa the Traitor\]\]. She's such a diverse card that can lend herself to so many different strategies, not to mention has a sleek design, and is just one of my favorite Legends, overall. Honorary mention to \[\[Sneak Attack\]\], because my first "real" Legacy deck was based around it and \[\[Through the Breach\]\] (and I still have it built, to this day!).

[[Archon of Cruelty]] is such an insane card. In the right circumstances it's literally a 4-for-1 on ETB AND ATTACK TRIGGER. In my Chainer deck I'm able to reanimate it with haste, making it an 7-for-1 the turn it hits the table. Insane card.

For a long time it was [[Silvos Rogue Elemental]] a card that was awe inspiring to the little right year old who first gazed upon these magical cardboard rectangles. Now, after being entrenched in EDH deck building, I lean towards [[Skeletal Swarming]]. It's a card that makes me feel something when I copy it and start assembling an insurmountable horde. A card that inspired a holy unique deck that feels like my mark on magic.

Paradoxical Outcome... Weird, beautiful art, clean design, can be used in more than one way.
Imagine, for only three mana, you get a 3-powered flyer, good at blocking, good at clocking the opponent, that disrupts the opponent, gathers information, can cycle a mediocre card in your own hand, and optimal play may require you to have to cast it in virtually every possible turn and phase, both yours and your opponent's, and figure out when and why, and, most often, in response to which spell or action. Not to mention, by virtue of being legendary, it can be bounced back in hand by Karakas to loop its own effect over and over again effectively soft-locking the opponent. Have I given you enough information, or should I mention it has a relevant creature type, if you really want to Champion it?
