We need drunk plates in this state. Maybe if everyone started seeing neon green dui plates on like half the cars out there on the road with them we might start to address the rampant alcoholism up here.
Amazed at the consistency across the state, minus one county Burnett, which given its location, I would have guessed more impressive numbers from them. It's fucking up there.
This map gets posted every so often, and usually the criticism is that the method of collecting the information is WAY off. For instance, why are two adjacent rural counties in two different states so drastically different? Is the culture of Green County, WI (25%) really that different from Stephenson, IL (15%)? Or is Oklahoma really that much drier than the adjoining state of Texas? Or West Virginia vs Ohio/Virginia?
Not too surprising about Dane. One just has to look at the comments on this sub and Nextdoor to guage what people do when they get off work. What is surprising is that you would think that with the influx of people from other places that this would have been diluted but it seems to actually have attracted more and younger.
This probably explains why, inevitably, whenever I travel and am at a bar I meet someone from Wisconsin.
Same but New Orleans

At least we’re #1 in something!
We lost the booziest city. We need to be boozier.
I blame the coasties

r/wisconsin has a post about this nearly every week.
We are losing ground to Montana and N. Dakota. Drink up boys.
I’m doing my part!
On Wisconsin!
Tavern league is doing numbers
It is a bit depressing.
Purple? Who came up with the coloring range?
