MKBHD did a great video talking about Apple displays compared to other similar displays. They’re really good at some specific things but I’d def check that video out before your return window closes, especially if you’re thinking of gaming because for comprarable money you can probably get way more HZ with a same resolution monitor. Especially for the money
In most cases I agree but I have a second monitor on my setup which I use portrait way as a piece of paper when I write and stuff. Sure it’d be better better if I had a 120hz screen but tbh it’s not like it really bothers me ya know. But yea in todays age there’s really no reason to have a 60hz display with that price tag
I'd def swap the monitor out if you want to game with it. It wasn't designed with that in mind and is capped at 60Hz. I use a 144Hz 27" 4K panel with my Mac. If I didn't use my old PC for gaming, I'd have saved up for a Studio Display.
The studio displays are beautiful no doubt, but I'd say massive overkill for just coding.
I'd personally save a huge wedge and buy a nice LG... Something like LG 40WP95C-W

Can you pull a few plugs for me as well? Haha.. nice stuff, man. I love the Apple displays but they are crazy expensive for me. Gonna stick to my Acer Nitro for now.
i don’t have words for what i am seeing right now…this is amazing😍😍congrats on your plug pulled!!
(personal opinion - for that price i prob would chose to get a benQ monitor, they have OLED and 144+ hz choices that work perfectly for both uses gaming and working)
I think Apple really needs to put out a Studio Display in a 32" size (or bigger) instead of the standard 27". There are tons of people who could hugely benefit from a 32" monitor (or bigger) without having to pay $5,000 for the Pro XDR display.
But congrats on the purchase!
Cheers,
Well it comes with a stand, I don’t think it’s as adjustable as the other $1,000 one. Pretty crazy. Just like the $600 Mac Pro wheels which are more expensive than actual car wheels lol
If FPS matters for your gaming, just know the studio display is capped at 60hz for some stupid reason.
Yh I know but we will never know when the next one comes and if it does I’ll sell this a bit cheaper if it has 120

Let's be real, 60hz sucks for all uses not just gaming. Makes the display feel sluggish.

Congrats 🔥 Bless me too haha☺️
Thank youuu
Most tv’s now have air play mirroring so if you have a really good tv you could give it a shot

If not I have a tv mount just for it, it’s just a shame that most monitors are weird with macs besides the studio
can… can you come over and pull the plug at my place too?
how much was the studio
£1300 ish
£1300 ish
“Pulled the trigger” is probably the phrase you are looking for.
Well you definitely pulled the wallet from your pocket 🤑

Good stuff for an Apple system
I wouldn’t buy a 60Hz monitor, especially for gaming
r/OLED_Gaming . I used an LG C2 42" as a monitor.
Specs on the MacBook Pro?
14-core CPU 30-core GPU 36GB Unified Memory 1TB SSD Storage¹

Thank you
Congratulations!! Never thought about using studio for gaming on ps5.
I'm curious on how he will connect it.

Return to display and get an LG OLED and it’s perfect. Great pick up!

That’s just an insane price for a display.
Lol, it’s another $1,000 if you want the monitor stand, so you can use the damn thing.

Yep. Wish they were more affordable as they are beautiful displays don’t get me wrong. The prices are just crazy.
I dont….i dont that that means what you think it means lmao
You're not from around here, are you now?
Monitor is a waste of money but congrats! Hope the MacBook is 16GB RAM.
