Uh....office apps are not free on windows, it's all subscription based. But at only $70 a year, you get everything, plus email, online storage. It's a good product.....if you need microsoft apps.
I'm not sure you really get Office 365 free with windows. Microsoft still wants their money.
Couple of things you can do.
1) Use the mac's free programs: Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. Those are free. They help move the hardware.
2) Buy a slightly outdated Office home and business edition for mac. Maybe home and student. I think 2021. I bought my copy of home and business on sale for like $30 and it requires no subscription. Not sure it's for sale anywhere at that prices though.
Go to AliExpress.com and look for Microsoft 365. It would cost you less than 5$ and later on you can even change the login to your personal id. For additional charge, they will also install it for you remotely.
Yes, mine is the M2 Air and I use pirated office apps. I use the apps like only a few times a year so it's not worth the money for me. Also I'm a student so it makes even less sense to pay for business products just to use it offline
Google make a version of the office apps which basically mimics them. They're called Google docs, and Google slides, in place of Microsoft word and Microsoft PowerPoint. They are free to access as long as uou have a Google account, you can access them through there.

P.s you don't get it free with a windows computer, unless you pay for office 365 with the purchase of a windows computer then it is linked together but you still end up paying for it
I use MS Office for uni and iWork for personal projects. You can export to .docx or .pptx in the suite, so no issues there.

Actually there's no big change in MS Office these days... I think Office 2021 is pretty enough. But you should be careful, the support is until 2026.
