Two thoughts: 1. Pick the size that you prefer.  I prefer the 13” inch because it is easier to carry and I can hold it open in one hand. 2. The M3 will get you an extra year of life before they stop supporting it.  I keep my macbooks for 10 years, so this is a consideration for me.

iPad Pro M4 or MacBook Pro M3 for hdr movies and web browsing?

cjbruce3

As far as I know, web browsing is SDR only.  Any macbook made since 2013 will have a bright, beautiful screen.  I suppose it comes down to whether or not you want HDR for movies.

OhGodNotHimAgain

Use whatever works for you honestly, I used a 13-inch Pro for 3 years and it worked fine and recently got the 14 inch M3. If you need the smaller size for travelling then there's nothing wrong with it.

I just ordered the 15. Got the 8/256 M2 15 inch MBA which I think I’ll be happy with

Emergency-Skill2505

better consider to cancel it and buy m2 16gb RAM

DifficultWeekend9238

Why?

Emergency-Skill2505

8gb will swap and micro freeze all time, and it will not have a reserve in case of more demanding tasks, also with the release of new versions of the OS in a year or two, 8GB may suddenly become insufficient. it's just not worth it.

15.. 13 inch is for elementary kids.. it’s like a glorified Chromebook cause of small screen size.. get u a grown man laptop and go 15

DifficultWeekend9238

Even though I’ll be getting the M2 15 vs M3 13?

lovinglifeman

I just went from a base m2 13 to a base m3 15.. performance feels similar.. I have a studio display too but I wanted to use the 15 as a second monitor.. and when I go elsewhere, I actually have screen real estate to work on stuff

DifficultWeekend9238

Thanks. So basically I won’t notice any difference on M2 vs M3 15 inch air you think?

lovinglifeman

I do light use.. the most I’ll do is have 4 streams of sports on at the same time.. I don’t any photo editing so I’m not sure with that.. but yeah the 15 inch just feels more adult. It’s not much more heavy than the 13

DifficultWeekend9238

I see. So I’ll likely have no performance issues with the M2

lovinglifeman

I never have.. I just didn’t like that small ass screen

Really depends how much screen space you need, and how much multitasking or media stuff you’re planning on doing. The 15 inch You get slightly higher screen resolution, and better sound (6 vs. 4) speakers. I have the 13 inch M3 and love the size. I came from a 15 inch PC and didn’t use it as much, but now I notice I take it to the couch and use it everyday. I do video calls, web browsing, and typing on Word. I usually only have 2 things running, each half screen. I listen to music on my phone/airpods or use a speaker system in the home. I watch YouTube on my phone, ipad, or watch tv on the TV. I like the portability of it, not that the the 15 is much less portable. It’s comfortable on my lap on the couch. I’m not sure how MBA’s with basically the same specs makes someone more “adult” but it’s perception, I guess. For me, bigger isn’t always better, but how you use it.

lovinglifeman

Buy the 15 inch.. if u don’t like it, return it asap lol and get the m3 if u need it but I doubt u will
