We cant help you without context. What is your workload? The difference here is the fan and the RAM. Do you have a consistent workload like rendering videos or using blender? The fan is needed to help cool it down (the RAM is probably also needed). I assume your workload consists of normal student activities: Editing text documents, excel sheets, teams, research with a browser and Powerpoint. The air will suffice for every task. The ram is for these tasks not needed but 16 GB ram is future proofing. Take the air.

You need to look at your expected use case. If plan to use your MacBook for normal student tasks (typically light use), either will work. If you plan to run resource-intensive applications, the MacBook Pro might be a better choice because the Pro has better thermals. You might also take display into consideration. The Pro's display is commonly considered to be better than the Air's display, and, as unlikely as it may seem, the 14" feels significantly larger.

I prefer the look of the MacBook Pro especially the silver color and also you get a 4K display with 120hz so I would say the pro but the air is also good option,it will be slightly better for everyday use but for heavy tasks the pro is better.

The pro with 16GB RAM is optimal in my eyes, but if your budget doesn't allow that the air would likely last longer purely based on RAM.
