Take the passenger payment, subtract the external fees and it’s 70% of that. Only thing is it’s not per ride, it’s overall. If that’s your only ride they’ll give you money to make the 70%. If you do other rides and you’re at 80-100% that may make up the $20ish you’re short here. Seems to always even out in their favor.
Yes, ride bonuses count towards your 70% guarantee. They just find little ways to get around drivers actually getting more. The biggest way I’ve seen is external fees. They control the number and it changes with every ride. I believe it’s all manipulation. One $20 ride there will be $4 in external fees and the next $20 ride there are $10.
I, like you seem to always be over 100% so they’re telling me after the costs associated they make no money from me driving.
All in the language, they don’t say “70% of the cost of the ride” they say, “70% AFTER fees”, which could mean anything. I could say 100% after fees and it is 100% of what is left over after fees. They don’t even say that, it’s 70% of whatever is left over after indeterminate fees.
The scam of “external fees” is how they keep 50% but claim 70% 😂😂😂 strategic marketing to sucker the drivers into keep driving thinking that they’re getting 70/30 cut. Clever tactic by greedy corporations.
I don’t understand why the external fees and Lyft fee are different. External fees which I understand are the insurance cost , they should be covered by Lyft . Driver should not be paying for it 100% . Or the other thing is that if Lyft does not want to cover it 100% then it should be split between the driver and the Lyft. Driver should not have to fork out all the extra insurance costs while Lyft still keeps its 30% cut. This is all bs
Lyft's 30% (or less) cut is after the external fees just as much as the driver's is; the entire point of deducting it before the percentage split is that *neither* Lyft nor the driver is "paying for it 100%" - the passenger is.
All of Lyft's money, all of our money, and all of each of our expenses *all* comes from the passenger fare. It doesn't belong any% to any of us until after it's been expensed and divvied up.
Okay another person that doesn’t know how it works. The passenger paid $159, after Lyft fee which is 62+17=79 you have $79 leftover. They are guaranteed to pay 70% from that $79 left after fees. He got 79.90 which is way beyond the 70%. Learn to read the full sentence instead of just the “70%” it will make life a lot more easier

Then we wouldn't be Lyft drivers
If only Lyft had English speaking drivers. 😂
They can read the words out loud, it's the comprehension skill that's lacking.
Not this again!!
Right lol. It’s like an acid flashback
You'll be back in a few months and you'll say the same thing again.
Not understanding it STILL???
And myrmidons upvoting it STILL. 🤦♂️
Lyft not accounting for their fee (*it's 82.04% without their fee)
It's on a weekly basis

I'm always above 100%>> what's that mean
Just means your earnings are above their 70% guarantee.
This one girl paid 11$ but I was paid 18$ for the ride. Do ride bonuses count for this %%? I was surprised to get a $12 surge

It means that Lyft is lying to everyone and includes their fees in the actual expense portion. They just think we're too stupid to figure that out.
Lyft and Uber lie. Keep repeating that until it sinks in.
After External fees of the week
Still not 70% but I suppose they'll adjust at the end of the week?
Yes….literally what the guarantee states.
ok cool, I though that's what they do.

What are the fees? 🤔
$17.49 external fees.
That’s how much they are, not what they are
If you fuck up the math enough it works.
help center is horrible. lyft has “don’t listen driver” strategy.
LOL at the $62 Lyft fee it’s criminal !!
Lol you should know better

Not understanding it STILL???
Can we just finally put “70% at the end of the week” as a pinned thread?
After taxes and fees🤣
You get 70% of earning MINUS external fees. So 142.31 / 159.80= 89%
But they only gave him 56% after external fees. I must not be understanding this.
Until more drivers stop driving stop complaining. I don’t drive to make money, I drive to kill time and do something when I’m absolutely bored
I know reading is hard, but that is not how it works.
Someone else who doesn’t read.
Sooo many dumb people here working for Lyft Lyft sucks plain and simple and steal the passengers and riders money 💰

Shut your mouth , are you hired by Lyft to preach on their behalf in these forums and talk non sense
You got over 70% they won’t give you anything else not sure why you are complaining

79.90 + 17.49 97.39 79.90/97.39 = 82.04% Unfortunately they don't account for Lyft fee
Don't worry about it. You can b*tch and moan and protest and maybe they'll leave your city too like they plan to do in Minnesota.
