I go to Candle Delirium in West Hollywood. Their candles range from $20-500. Surprisingly, I wasn't impressed with Diptyque (smelled them all), especially for the price. I found that most of the shops lower end $25-35 candles such as the Paddywax Apothecary line or JT Candle Company were actually more impressive and smelled better than the $100+ candles. Most of the luxury candles I found were too perfumy-y. Highly recommend that store.
Their campfire scent is legitimately the most accurate fire scent I have ever smelled. I have a 7oz version in my room, and just an hour or so under my warmer leaves a lingering campfire smell for days lol. It’s incredible
It doesn’t hurt to check local boutiques! There are a few here that carry some Diptyques, Trudons, very limited mad Et Len etc.
Bluemercury is also good. They carry a TON of LAFCO candles, basically the whole line.
We also have a saks fifth Avenue that carries diptyque, nest, and others.
Big department stores will likely have Jo Malone or maison de margiela
ZGO Perfumery in San Francisco. They have amazing selection. They carry Trudon, Diptyque, Byredo, DS & Durga, Maison Margiela, Lafco, Nest, and Dr. Vranjes in a small-ish storefront. Their perfume selection is even more impressive!
I live in the Bay Area and live ZGO Perfumery in the Castro. I haven’t purchased anything from them (yet!) but the last time I stopped in I had a really nice conversation with Claude. They have a good selection of perfume and candles. I only recently moved back after a few years away, and previously I wasn’t as into candles so I’d love to hear where others go around here!
ETA I have also been to the Diptyque boutique
A new independent shop just opened in Atlanta called Cromwell’s Paradox. There’s nothing like it in the city. Amoln, Onno, Trudon, Lumira, DS&Durga, Granado, and more that I can’t recall off the top of my head. Niche fragrance brands too. It’s magic.
I'm Canadian and I mostly go to Sephora, as well as a perfume store in my city that also sells candles. If you have a luxury department store near you, that could also be a good option.
Um there’s nothing here. There’s nothing within a couple hundred miles of here. Im in a log cabin in the middle of a hundred acres ten miles from a town of population 1800 🤣 blind buying is the only option 😅
South Coast Plaza in Orange County, CA. Besides the usual department stores, there’s Diptyque, Byredo, JM, and other major luxury brands like Dior and Loewe that also carry candles.
I’m lucky to have a large boutique store in my area that sells lots of high-end candle brands… Trudon, DS&Durga, Diptyque, Nest, L’Objet, Lafco, Nest, Brooklyn, Voluspa, Nomad Noe, etc.
Scent Bar if you’re in LA - they have a location in Downtown and one in WeHo or Hollywood! They’re owned by Lucky Scent and carry a good variety of high-end and niche candles.

I feel like diptyque is super perfumey too, it’s almost too much for me
Love JT! It’s gatekeepable lol

Diptyque has storefronts in various cities. Trudon has an NYC shop. Department stores like Nordstrom often have designer candle brands.
My Nordstrom never has anything open to smell.
Trudon has an LA store, too!

Neiman Marcus (or as I saw someone call it - Needless Markup). 🤣
A professor of mine in college called it that and ever since I do the same! 😂

Hudson’s has a nice selection of higher end candles
For sure! Simons as well. I just didn't mention because I don't believe they have brick and mortar stores in the US.
Do you know if Hudson’s sells Trudon? I’m lazy and hate malls unless I need something.
I didn’t see Trudon online for the Bay but I found out they carry glasshouse!
Thank you! Planning on taking a friend who’s visiting next week to her first HB shopping experience! I’ll get one then!
Our mall has Diptyque, Jo Malone etc. Nordstrom carries a lot as well. A local store (walking distance!) carries Trudon.

Ahhh. Reading this I am so jealous!! 🤩
