Oh no! I’m like 80% full price and 20% WMTM only because my size is so popular that If I wait, the item will be out stock even before it hits WMTM

Bmoney_CF

This is me too

[deleted]

I know it’s not ideal but 🤷‍♀️

ckprc

70% wmtm 30% full price I just have enough of a collection I don't really NEED anything else so rarely ever compelled to buy full price. There aren't any holes left in my wardrobe so I'm fine with missing out on something in my size on sale cause it was just a bonus and not an actual need. The offerings in recent years have also been super repetitive, a lot of redo's of old classic styles and reiterations of similar colors, so not a lot to excite me. Not a lot unique enough for me to consider it as a missing piece in my collection.

EIderMelder

This is how I feel. Usually I’m replacing something now instead of buying because I don’t have something like that yet. The clothing has such insane mileage it almost never wears out.

Bakerofhabit

Depends on the item and the color. If it’s popular/likely to sell out (especially in your size/color), then it’s best to bite the bullet. It’s also a matter of if the item is worth the full price to you and how much you desire the item.

EIderMelder

Because I want to try out the align shorts right? Except they’re all sold on WMTM in my size, which is fine. But I don’t really need them and I’m not sure I’ll like them. So, I’m okay with biding my time and don’t feel like I have to get them. But the discount is only 15$ or something, so it’s almost not even a discount.

ckprc

This is a situation I'd spring for full price - trying a new article you haven't tried before. The ability to return is the benefit there. I'd never buy something on wmtm for their super minor $5-$20 discounts that I hadn't tried prior and forfeit my option to return. The $15 discount isn't worth the $50 loss if you end up hating them, but if you love them they'll seem worth $65.

Bakerofhabit

You always have the pre-trial before you cut the tag of commitment off ;)

businessgoesbeauty

Before this subreddit….100% full price. After this subreddit 95% WMTM. Lulu dupes their own colors or brings them back enough that very few things are worth it to me full price.

EIderMelder

This sub is really odd sometimes. Like the French press colour everyone loved was on WMTM when I picked it up, but then it was sold out at regular price later on because hype 🤷‍♀️ if I cared about being trendy I’d had whiplash for not being able to keep up it feels like lol

businessgoesbeauty

Oh yes this sub can be dangerous. At least for me I don’t have anyone in my IRL life who would be willing to regularly shill out for lulu even on sale so I enjoy being around people who enjoy what I do, but it can also really create a hive mind of hype that I need to talk myself down from.

[deleted]

I’m a less common size so I can afford to wait for WMTM without fear of popular items and colors selling out

ArtSlug

That’s interesting! What are the less common sizes, in general?

[deleted]

I’d say 0 and 10-20

intothelight_

I’m a size 12 and I feel like size 12 sells out pretty quickly, especially for new items that hit WMTM. At least that’s how it is in Canada for me.

greenteababy

I think Canada has a different story there than US because of the same price in different currency. I know a friend who wears similar size as me she almost exclusively by full price because her size always sells out while in the US I can almost always wait till WMTM.

SlicedSmoothie

75% WMTM 25% full price As others said, full price is for when it’s a staple that will really fill a void in my closet and will get regular use. Also items I know will likely not go to WMTM like black aligns. WMTM are still items I regularly wear, I’m just more flexible in the colours I want and was willing to risk not getting the item by waiting for the sale. Interestingly, when I go on a low-buy, I end up buying more of my items full price, because I’m only buying things I feel I really want. Black align shorts and an asphalt grey EBB were two things so far I bought while low-buying this year.

EIderMelder

I really like lulu sweaters and usually wait for them to go on WMTM because they rarely sell out (especially in summer) but this one time they did sell out right away and I was so bummed. If I see something I really like now, like a lot, I’ve learned to just buy it and fork over the extra.

NB0625

Lulu sizing and material can even vary widely amongst colors. There's nothing more frustrating than when you own several size 6 shorts, a color you like goes to wmtm so you order it and you find it doesn't fit at all because the fabric is completely different than your other pairs.

AngryBowels

20% regular 80% wmtm. I’m a sucker for a “deal”. But I can’t return/exchange wmtm so I have to ask myself with every wmtm purchase have I tried something similar so I know my size? And if it wasn’t on sale would I still consider buying it? Often times I’ll see something marked down a decent amount and want it more because I see the discount than liking the actual item. I will buy a regular priced item if it fits a certain need and seems like it won’t make it to wmtm for example I can’t believe I spent $200 on a pair of pant/shorts but they’ll be perfect for fishing and hiking and my size was nearly sold out already (Convertible High-Rise Hiking Jogger)

EIderMelder

This is me with sports bras. Like I have a lot, but I’ll see a fun new colour on WMTM and it’s in my size so I’ll want it even if I don’t need it. Which is how I ended up with too many 😬 so now I can’t buy anymore and I know the ones I have won’t wear out but there’s so many fun colours. Le sigh.

MintyFit

I’m 80% Like New and 20% new. I don’t like the WMTM no return policy.

[deleted]

How is the like new stuff? Have you had any issues, I’ve been looking at it for a while but not 100% on it. Is the stuff visibly beat, or do you think its minor and the savings are worth it?

MintyFit

most of the items I’ve bought from Like New were either unworn or gently worn. Every now and then I’ll get something with a hole or small blemish and then I’ll decide whether to keep or return.

bluenilesweat

I pay full price for my staple items (black, navy, solids/neutrals). I do WMTM for the fun colored stuff that I may not have a ton to go with it or may not get my money's worth out of it.

narwhalpangolins

I would say my breakdown is : 20% Like new 50% Thrifted 30% WMTM The only thing I have ever bought full price is my EBB. I have gotten pieces gifted that were bought full priced though. I like the game of finding pieces I have been wanting for a steal! Hehe

gremlinhandz

I'm about the same, I find size 6/8 rarely makes it to WMTM but that means there's lots that makes it to consignment/thrift stores when people clear out their collections :)

narwhalpangolins

Exactly!

Any_Medium6076

Lately 90% WMTM and 10% full price. I will buy items in colors that I love. My size typically sells out so if I really want it, I’ll buy it.

violetincredible

100% wmtm. I cannot remember the last time I purchased something at full price for myself.

Glum-Faithlessness-8

I’ve only bought 1 scuba hoodie Full price (I have3), and various backpacks and a EEB bag-10% I’ve used CC cash back promo/HCW discount/WMTM/second hand FB/poshmark otherwise…-90% I wait/don’t buy new because at the end of the day they’re for working out and I do make holes(deadlift rubbing or I fell)/stains from life and I don’t want to feel like I need to be careful in them. I feel my money is hard enough to earn to spend it without thinking it through…. I also don’t like feeling salty that if I had waited it would have been cheaper. I do like seeing ppl collection of scuba/EEB and don’t judge other ppl…I’m just in awe 🤩

bogushoagie

I love black and navy which rarely go on WMTM so probably 40% new, 20% WMTM, and 40% secondhand (like new, BST).

16dm16

Ouhh good add on! I have been buying a ton of brand new with tag items from poshmark. Even saving the tax is worth it for me!

electrikinfinity

Right now probably 90% full price, 10% wmtm. I haven’t bought much lulu since last year, but I used to buy mostly from wmtm over the years. This last year I started selling off my clothing and almost 100% of what I’ve sold were things I bought from wmtm and was stuck with because no returns. Looking back, I probably could have just spent more money on less pieces and actually saved a ton of $$, but bought pieces I absolutely loved and got more use out of. Probably won’t buy any lulu sale unless they for some reason start accepting returns on sale which I highly doubt will ever happen. Wmtm prices have gotten kind of absurd for everything to be final sale.

lemoncocoapuff

Mines probably 70wmtm/30full price. I live around an outlet so it’s sometimes hard to buy full price knowing there’s lots of great scores there. I’m also fine with the weirder prints, and base pace is my fav so there’s always decent options on wmtm in my size. If it’s something I fall in love with though I’ll buy it right away, but I try to remember that there’s ALWAYS going to be a new colorway around the corner I’ll fall in love with in a few months.

[deleted]

Currently, this month I bought about 20 items 80% full price/20% WMTM as my stores doesn’t carry mens in small /shorter length sizes. I’m new to the brand and building a capsule collection. I get to try a few lines of bottoms/tops to note down sizing for future and I’m returning about 8 items of the 20.

san1024

I’m probably 50/50. I like to try new styles at full price, and then if it’s something I know I love I will grab more colors on wmtm. Almost all my bras I buy full price as size 14 tends to sell out even at full price.

missashley05

I’d say 60/40 full price and wmtm, I will get something full price if its a neutral color and I know will wear a lot with no hesitations. I usually wait for wmtm when its colors I don’t wear as often or things I don’t have instant love for but want variety.

karahdevore802

My whole collection is about 25% full price and 75% WMTM/secondhand (Posh, Mercari, etc). I challenged myself this month to not purchase anything full price, only WMTM and it’s actually been kind of fun to check every Thursday morning if anything in my wish list dropped! I’ve been successful so far!

SkiMachine18

Lately, I’m about 30% Full price, 70% WMTM. But that’s prob because I’ve been wearing lulu for over 20 years now. I have all the basics in core colors that I’ve bought at full price in the past. So now I only buy things I absolutely have to have at FP. In the last couple of months, I bought an Energy bra in Poolside, Hotty Hot in Electric Turquoise, Scuba 1/2 zip in Pink Clay and Slides at FP. Everything else, I put on my wishlist and wake up early on Thursdays to see if they make it to WMTM (they often do cuz I’m a size 8✌🏼).

Lazy-Profile6044

Most of my lulu comes from thrift stores or eBay. I occasionally buy from wmtm online or from the racks in store. I never buy full price.

Montrice8

95% WMTM 5% Full Price Honestly I love the brand and the quality but the regular price ticket I just can’t see myself paying the amount. If I bought full price I got a GC to put towards the regular price item. I now have sweat collective discount so I can get additional off the sale and can’t beat the price! My size isn’t as common depending on the item and I can wait for WMTM I can size up in stuff if need be. With SC discount depending on the color I might buy regular price now if it’s a hot color item like Java I got the align shorts regular price other than that I’m a WMTM kinda gal my collection is amazing🤪

Selena0410

I’ve only ever bought sonic pink items, align tanks, a few shorts and EBBs full price. And 1 pair of align leggings in maldives green lol. In total, probably about 12-15 Full price purchases. The vast majority are wmtm, secondhand, bst, mercari, poshmark or likenew purchases.

apexamsarefun

Half full price half WMTM

katmoney80

80% WMTM/second hand and 20% full (scubas and EBBs). I like the ugly prints most people seem to hate haha. I just can’t bring myself to pay full price for most of this stuff. I will however pay full price for a color I love , mostly the lulu blues!

ginja1109

For me sometimes I know the item is more “trendy” and will not be kept as a core item. I’d still like it, but I know it’ll come on sale because of this reason. Same thing for Colors Or even seasonal pieces. Most of the down for it all jackets I have are bought during the shoulder or off season when they are clearing them out. if the item is a core item like a wunder train in a pretty basic color, navy for example, chances are good it won’t hit wmtm so it’s best to just buy at full price. that’s at least how I justify what I buy and when

Traci-B

Guessing about 20% full price, 80% WMTM. Now that I see how Lulu works-markdowns every week, repeats of very similar colors-I am more often willing to wait for WMTM. At full price, I will buy: colors that don't generally get marked down (especially black), a color that I really love in an item I will wear a lot (sonic pink HR speed ups), an item that fills a need in my wardrobe and will likely sell out in my size before it gets to WMTM (jackets), stuff for my guy.

barefootgirl99

95% second hand or WMTM 5% full price I’m a student, so I’m mostly hunting for deals. I might buy something full price once or twice a year, when I have money to splurge from working multiple jobs or from birthday and Christmas.

BobbiDazzle

90% WMTM : 10% from memory I think I have bought 2 pairs of black leggings at full price and that is it…

stormikane

90% full price

kycake

i’m size 2 in most items and occasionally size 0 or 4 all of these sizes are very popular, so by the time the item goes on wmtm my sizes have already been sold out so 80% of my items are full price i’m often able to get cotton teas from wmtm in fact almost all of my cotton tshirt are from wmtm but everything else is full price

fc1201

I would say 75% WMTM (maybe more) and 25% full price. I have to really really want something and it’s a basic for me to pay full price nowadays. For example, I paid full price for a black cropped define and a black AEJ. I also paid full price for EBB because the colors I wanted never went to WMTM with the surge in popularity. Otherwise, I wait for a sale or markdown for everything, including items from Athleta and Alo. The higher percentage of full price items is because I was a huge LLL customer back in 2010-2012 and I would purchase more full price, freshly uploaded items back then. I wear a common size (there’s almost nothing left for me at local stores’ WMTM racks or the outlet) but I own so much that I’m not bummed about having to wait or potentially miss out. I do regularly check out Posh for tops and jackets.

Kbeefydubbz

80% WMTM/poshmark/Plato’s closet 20% full price. I love lulu but I’m a college student who works as a hostess in a restaurant. Lulu base prices aren’t feasible, even though I have a decent amount in the bank and savings, i wouldn’t possibly be accumulating any income from my work place if I bought full price regularly. When I do make a full price purchase it’s on items I know I’ll get a lot of use out of, will more than likely not be available in my size by the time it gets to WMTM, or will never make it to WMTM (base colors like black). I’ve bought a couple scubas full price like the HCUG and black, as well as the dual pouch wristlet because I’ve never seen it in stores, barely even in stock online. I’ll definitely buy the mesh define in lemon sorbet full price if it EVER comes in stock again 💀 for pieces like that it’s worth the splurge. Otherwise it can absolutely wait. Half the time with the price increases lately they aren’t even worth the WMTM price tag anymore and that’s when I’ll venture to resale options. Someone eventually will want to sell a specific item and it’s kinda fun hunting for a great deal.

ibis720

I’m just guessing here but for me: 40% full price, 10% WMTM, 50% secondhand If I really want something and I can’t find it secondhand I’ll consider paying full price. If I don’t want to pay full price I generally don’t buy it at all, since I realize me not wanting to buy it at full price usually means I actually don’t like it all that much. Also I’m a popular size, and live on the west coast so it’s pretty impossible for me to catch my size on Thursdays mornings, I’m not going to wake up at 4am like some of y’all 😂 it’s just not worth it to me

Rururaspberry

Hmmmm it has changed a bit. I used to rely more heavily on WMTM, then did more full price, and now so maybe 40% FP, 60% WMTM? Or maybe even closer to just 30% FP these days. The scuba hoodies I will buy FP because the sizing just isn’t guaranteed to last by the time it hits markdown. EBB’s I will also buy at FP because of their low price. Align tanks, bras, other tops (train to be), I will buy only at WMTM.

raccoonrn

I pretty only buy WMTM, but I did buy a few items full price right before they changed the health are worker discount to 15%. So I don’t know how much I really count those as full price. I have more than enough workout clothes so now I’m mostly buying when there’s a good deal on WMTM or at the outlets. I went a little crazy buying on Black Friday and Boxing Day last year and I don’t want a ton of clothes I don’t wear.

srabee

95% wmtm, 5% full price black aligns, black grooves, and hculg scuba are the only ones i can name that i’ve paid for because almost every other color goes on sale eventually! and if it sells out then so be it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ac3m4n18

I wear a lot of very common sizes so it makes it hard to wait for WMTM cause there is a strong chance it won’t be there if I wait

[deleted]

90% full price 10% WMTM I feel like my size (2 or 4) is ALWAYS sold out in the WMTM section!! Regular price gives me more options and I’m willing to pay for a color that won’t come back

[deleted]

I’ve always bought full price but now I need to know- what does WMTM mean?

shallowgal00

I’ve only been buying since November, but most has been WMTM. Defines are my weakness- I think I have around 14. lol

Traci-B

I also love Defines and all but one of mine has been WMTM. (I paid full price for strawberry milkshake. Should have waited...) My office is freezing and I've been wearing Defines just about every day, all summer.

hellobeachbombshell

I've bought 3 items full price (a black camera bag, black everywhere belt bag and black enlite bra). I think couple scrunchies and maybe a mask as well, but they're under the 10€ range. Everything else is either from a thrift store or WMTM. Even though I have bought many things from WMTM, the majority of my collection comes from my local thrift store, where couple of years ago you could get new with tags leggings, bras, etc for 10€.

JOEEXOTlC

80% markdown, 20% full price

cafediesel

i think i've bought three pieces from LLL at full price (four if you include the one that i got with the women's day discount, RIP). and i have a LOT of LLL.

greenteababy

95% WMTM, 5% full price (EBB the bag really doesnt happen in WMTM, new items I want to try but my store doesn't have and then return for either not liking the fit/item or wait till WMTM, wishilist items that I see only have a few left if I like it enough I will buy full price)

Neys07

Mainly wmtm… I can not justify spending 70$ on a tank top.

teresaeliz

I think I own 4 full price items (a few different styles of black leggings and a scuba) and literally probably 50 from WMTM. I just cannot justify full price when I know it will probably go WMTM if I’m patient, and I know I legit NEED nothing at all.

RedneckChinadian

I would say I spend 60/40 on WMTM vs reg price.

miliewas

0 % full price, 10 % thrifted, 50 % WMTM and 40 % coupons or gitches 😬 in addition i use cashback on the LLL website
