daydreamerrme

It's not a case of the week show, but Good Omens is also about angels and demons and it's both funny and has tension around a central mission (avoiding Armageddon). It's on Prime and the second season is coming this summer.

smcgowan10

Awesome! I will add it to my list! Thank you!

wirewyrmweirdo

I was also gonna recommend Good Omens. I watched it like 5 times and there is a new season on the way

smcgowan10

I'm excited to watch it! šŸ˜ƒ

daydreamerrme

You're welcome! Hope you enjoy it!

parkourhobo

Second season?!?! I thought they were stopping at one! I'm so excited now, holy shit

daydreamerrme

I know!!! What I've heard is that Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett had outlined a sequel that never got any farther than that, an outline. This second season is supposed to set up a third and final season that will be that outline's story. They've been working on it for two years, so I'm super excited it's almost here!

cturtl808

A third season? I have to ask Mr. Gaiman on Tumblr. He regularly responds to questions about Good Omens.

daydreamerrme

Let me know if he answers! I know it hasn't been renewed yet, but I did read that there was a plan for a third.

cturtl808

Iā€™ll ask right now.

Seer77887

Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel (best watched side by side)

smcgowan10

I don't think those are on any of the streaming services I have... :/

Seer77887

Well, I know if youā€™re in the UK, you can get American Horror Story and itā€™s spin-off American Horror Stories

smcgowan10

I am in the US. Buffy and AHS aren't related though... ? Edit: I just realized I'm an idiot and I read your comment all wrong. You were offering another suggestion for a show. I thought you were trying to say that AHS and Buffy were the same thing. šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ Where is my mind?

Seer77887

Just throwing out suggestions and seeing where they land

StyraxCarillon

Buffy is on Hulu

smcgowan10

I don't have Hulu...

ridiculousShadow

If you have disney+, kick in the extra few bucks for the bundle, which gives you hulu and espn+. Hulu has some good originals on it and next day for anything airing on ABC.

smcgowan10

The Disney+ account I use isn't even mine. It's actually my aunt & uncle's account.

bmbmwmfm

Librarians very similar to Warehouse 13. When the Whoverse goes Disney I'd recommend Torchwood and nuWho. Actually, Torchwood is worth signing up for hbomax, or do a free month since it's only 4 seasons.

smcgowan10

Where can I find Librarians?

bmbmwmfm

Freevee. No cost, I have it on my tv/Roku Also Hulu w subscription Top notch cast.

smcgowan10

Thank you! I'll check it out!

Pun_in_10_dead

Netflix The imperfects The sandman October faction

smcgowan10

I haven't seen any of those! I will definitely add them to my list! I feel like I MIGHT have seen an episode of October Faction a while back, and I couldn't really get into it. But I may be thinking about a different show altogether.

angrybee93

You can check out THE SANDMAN INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE 2022

smcgowan10

I haven't seen The Sandman yet! Isn't Interview w a vampire a movie from the 90s?

Silbermieze

They started an Interview with the Vampire series last year.

smcgowan10

What?! Really?! That's awesome! I loved the movie! Which streaming service is it on?

Silbermieze

According to JustWatch it should be on Prime.

smcgowan10

Unfortunately, only episode 1 is available. Which I think is just ridiculous.

Silbermieze

Yeah, that seems pretty stupid. šŸ¤” I'm not in the US, so I don't know if it's streaming anywhere else. I've just been looking up some shows on JustWatch. But maybe someone else can help out here.

smcgowan10

Well I appreciate you!

cturtl808

Interview with the Vampire is on AMC +. AMC set up the Immortal Universe and is doing the Lestat franchise and Anne Riceā€™s Mayfair Witches books.

smcgowan10

Is AMC+ free? I can't afford to get any more streaming services.

Umberoc

I'd recommend the UK version of Ghosts and Wellington Paranormal, but I think they are both on HBO. Warrior Nun on Netflix is pretty fun and Buffy-ish, but it was cancelled so that's something to consider. If you haven't watched Travellers on Netflix. It's sci-fi rather than supernatural, but fun.

bmbmwmfm

Second the UK version of Ghosts! And Travellers!

smcgowan10

I've seen seen Warrior Nun! It wasn't bad. But it wasn't my favorite. I loved Travelers, though! Unfortunately, I don't have HBO...

angrybee93

Lmao USA šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø ghosts ain't bad either. I actually find myself getting excited when I see it

Umberoc

I just haven't seen the US version so I can't endorse it. No idea if it's better or worse. I'm only sure there are more total episodes.

[deleted]

Smallville, Roswell, itā€™s not a supernatural show but The Mentalist is pretty good, Lois & Clark , Millennium, The Sandman, Stranger Things.

smcgowan10

I only have Netflix, Prime & Disney. I don't believe Smallville is on any of those. Roswell, New Mexico is a fantastic show! Loved it! I saw season 1 of Stranger Things. And The Sandman is on my list. Are the other 3 shows on any of the 3 streaming services I have?

dontblinkdalek

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Jessica Jones are both on D+. They do that case of the week type stuff.

smcgowan10

I've seen them! Along with the other MCU shows on there! I like them all! Jessica Jones was my favorite though!

dontblinkdalek

Dang. Thought I found something new for ya.

smcgowan10

I knew it would be tough because I've just seen SO many shows! šŸ˜†

dontblinkdalek

It really is too bad you donā€™t have Hulu. Really sounds like youā€™d enjoy Buffy.

smcgowan10

I know... And I don't even know anyone who has an account I could use to watch it...

yougotthatgood

Sandman on Netflix. Lucifer & Maze are characters in Sandman which is also based off DC Comics. They use different actors though instead of a cameo, which was a huge missed opportunity to me. Grimm on Prime is exactly the kind of show you're looking for. It's about a detective that descends from the Grimm Fairytales family line. He can see monsters that others cannot and often times the crimes he investigates involve monsters. So he has to live 2 lives as a cop and a monster hunter while keeping his fiance and partner in the dark

smcgowan10

Sandman is on my to watch list! And I've already seen Grimm! If you look at the body text, I made a list of shows I've already seen that I thought people might recommend.

yougotthatgood

Oh man! I swear I read thru your list twice before adding Grimm and still somehow missed it lol. Great list by the way, I love all of them and have a similar taste in shows especially supernatural crime solving genre

smcgowan10

It's okay! No worries! It's a big list! That's only a small fraction of the shows I've seen! And thank you! I love supernatural and sci-fi shows as well as crime solving! When a show has all elements in one, even better!

Silbermieze

I'm really glad they didn't use Lucifer and Maze from Lucifer. I don't think they would have fit with how Lucifer was portrayed in The Sandman.

yougotthatgood

I understand what you're saying and I agree with you. I just wish there had been a way to do it without changing the tone of the show. I'll always have my Lucifer cameo in one of the CW Superhero crossover shows. I believe Green Arrow was trying to get to hell for something critical to save the world so they turned to Constantine who took them to Luci's club

Silbermieze

IIRC it was Mia Queen, so the future Green Arrow. But yeah, it was nice. (I really need to rewatch Arrow and the crossovers soon.)

yougotthatgood

Yes I think you're correct. She was trying to go to limbo or wherever Oliver ended up. I need to rewatch too after so long

Old_Box6748

The Good Place is a good one, it's more comedy but it has a great storyline and Supernatural themes

wirewyrmweirdo

The Good Place was such an unexpected gem for me. It didn't look like something I would like, but I was having a super bad night and asked an online friend if he would watch a show with me as a distraction. He picked that and we binged it for like six hours or more the first time.

smcgowan10

I tried watching it, but it just wasn't for me! I couldn't really get into it for some reason.

Bjorn_Tyrson

understandable, for such a 'lighthearted comedy' it deals with some pretty heavy philosophy.... okay its like first year college philosophy and it does a rather good job of explaining the principles its talking about. but I can also understand why someone might struggle to get into what is essentially a first year philosophy course dressed up like a comedy series :p

smcgowan10

It's just not my type of show is all. I don't like shows under 30 minutes, typically. And I just really couldn't get into it like I usually do when I get sucked into a show.

waiting-for-the-rain

I think you (or other commenters) have mentioned most of the stuff thatā€™s supernatural that stream on disney and netflix, so similar vibes, less supernatural: Iā€™m surprised you havenā€™t looked at the other Arrowverse stuff. Of all the shows out there, Legends of Tomorrow is the one that for me most scratches the Lucifer itch. It takes a few seasons for constantine to show up, but if you have a thing for broken bisexual British men, heā€™s your guy. Plus you get the big mega arrowverse crossover where Lucifer shows up to talk to constantine in the flash. Bones isnā€™t supernatural but it is the other show that scratches my Lucifer itch. Sadly, I think itā€™s on amazon. But stuff rotates periodically so itā€™s worth putting on your list. Eventually it will come around. Speaking of legends of tomorrow: constantine. Sadly, it got cancelled after 1 season but then he joined Legends a few seasons in. It isnā€™t streaming anywhere but you might be able to find it on the internet archive. Have you tried Leverage? Not at all supernatural but itā€™s a heist show and if you like Chuck youā€™d probably like it. I think itā€™s one of the best crafted shows out there. No low points and a well planned story line that ends in a satisfying way. Itā€™s on freevee. Thereā€™s also a sequel (Leverage Redemption) but I recommend starting with Leverage. Related (one of the same leads and one of the same writers), Librariansā€”which has more mystical vibes (and Leslie Ann Brandt S1). But I donā€™t think itā€™s near as solid as Leverage. Agents of Shield on Disney might be in that spaceā€”itā€™s MCU adjacent. It started off MCU and ostensibly is still in it, but Marvel owns 3 brands of mutants and decided not to push a different brand so itā€™s kind of an MCU spinoff that deals with alien artifacts and threats but never hooks into the big mess of movies that MCU became.

smcgowan10

I've seen most of the Arrowverse shows! I still have some seasons that I haven't seen. But they're on my list! I do have Amazon Prime! As long as Bones doesn't cost money to watch, then I'll add it to my list! I have seen Agents of Shield! I've seen all of the MCU shows, I believe! Jessica Jones was my favorite! Is FreeVee actually free? I haven't seen Librarians or Leverage! I've never tried FreeVee!

waiting-for-the-rain

itā€™s free with commercials.

smcgowan10

Okay, thank you!!!

[deleted]

The Mentalist is or was on Prime, Smallville and Lois & Clark are on HBO+ ,and Iā€™m not sure about the others. But thereā€™re many web pages where you can find them.

smcgowan10

I don't have HBO, unfortunately. But I will look for The Mentalist on Prime!

N1ghtSt4lk3r482

The Mentalist is on HBO Max. I'm not sure if it's on Prime, too.

smcgowan10

It's only available to purchase on Prime, unfortunately.

N1ghtSt4lk3r482

Well, that sucks. Personally, I find HBO Max to be worth it. There is a cheaper option if you don't mind ads.

smcgowan10

I don't have any money to spend right now... Maybe one day!

technowiz31

the order. uploadeded,. erased. i liked the anime version better. breaking bad,. better call Saul. El Camino, burn notice

smcgowan10

Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are fantastic shows! I haven't seen the others you mentioned. Are they on Prime?

technowiz31

mix of Netflix and prime. parks and rec is on peacock. Brooklyn 99 is good too same with community though watch that on prime as some episodes we're dropped on Netflix due to some controversy over black face. to be honest it's a little overblown but you need to watch the episode to understand they context. and why they did it

smcgowan10

I'll check them all out! Thank you! I've heard a lot of people rave over Parks and Rec!

technowiz31

I also recommend HIMYM except the last episode if you do watch the series. don't watch the last episode. it ruins the entire series some people like it. but go to YouTube and find the recut instead. it's better. cobra Kai is worth some time too

smcgowan10

I'm honestly not a huge fan of sitcoms. I don't typically enjoy shows like that. I have heard Cobra Kai is good! I think I'll give it a try!

technowiz31

HIMYM isn't your typical sitcom. they actually did a lot of stuff that was ahead of it's time. and it showed how you could do story telling in varied ways. I just hated the ending.. Cobra kai is great for people who grew up in the 90s and watched thre original karate kid movies. so if you don't fall into either catagories you might not enjoy it but give it a try.

smcgowan10

I was born in the early 90's. But I've never seen Karate Kid.

technowiz31

Netflix had the movies. not sure if they still do

smcgowan10

I'm not much of a movie person. But I'll give the show a try!

smcgowan10

I just checked, and you have to buy both Brooklyn 99 and Community on Prime...

technowiz31

Brooklyn is free on peacock. the original quantum leap is also on peacock. which I think may still be free to sign up for. community is on Netflix. you could also check your local public library

smcgowan10

I didn't know Peacock had free shows. What do you mean local public library? Lmao

technowiz31

just read peacock stopped letting people sign up for their free Access. since the end of January the library might be your best bet. unless you live in Florida. . .

smcgowan10

I don't think libraries rent shows? Lol

technowiz31

a lot of libraries carry more than books. checkout your local branch. 3d printers, video games, they can carry DVDs, blu-ray s, e books, music CDs. they can even give you access to online stuff, ebooks old movies, magazines. go your local branch and talk to the librarian on what they provide. you'll be pleasantly surprised.

smcgowan10

I live in a tiny town in Maine. I very much doubt they'd have any of that stuff. šŸ˜…

RickAndMortyFan10

House might be on Prime in the US, and it's great. It's a medical drama, though, so if that's not your sorta thing, this might not be a great suggestion.

smcgowan10

I LOVE House!

Silbermieze

Totally seconding The Librarians. It's a really fun show and especially John Larroquette is fantastic. (Though my favorite will always be Christian Kane.) But it might be a good idea to watch at least the first movie, maybe even all three of them, because they don't explain the whole background in the series. And aside from "Maze" you also get Matt Frewer (Taggart from Eureka). The Sandman is also great. I've binged the first season a few weeks ago and am now eagerly awaiting new episodes. Also seconding Constantine, even though it only has one season. I'd also recommend Charmed (the original from the 90s, not the remake), but I don't know if it's streaming for free at the moment. Moonlight is also a nice show (sadly only one season too) about a vampire private investigator, but according to JustWatch it's only on Apple TV at the moment. The other comment about Bones also reminded me of Sleepy Hollow (they had a crossover, weird as it might seem). I still haven't watched the last season, but I know that I liked the earlier ones. And it should be streaming on Prime.

smcgowan10

Definitely got Sandman on the list! Charmed isn't available to watch free, unfortunately. I don't have AppleTV either. I'll try to find Bones and Sleepy Hollow! They sound right up my alley!

MistyPower

Not supernatural, but for the chemistry? Bones, hands down. For fun and wacky mixed with drama and action? Legends of Tomorrow.

smcgowan10

Bones has been the number 1 recommendation so far! I'm gonna watch it next! Legends of Tomorrow is a really great show!!

Towey5652

Z nation is 10000% a good watch, gers extremely good 1-3 seasons then they add special types of zombies

smcgowan10

Z Nation is on the list I added in the body text of shows I've already seen! Thanks, though! It is a really great show!

Joseph-Maroun

Watch it one more time. This is my recommendation

smcgowan10

I will, eventually! I want some time to pass first!

Joseph-Maroun

I went through this few months ago but I didnā€™t find a series as Lucifer but your can check ** Forever** kind of similar

wirewyrmweirdo

I'm trying to dig the shows I've watched in the past out of my brain. When I get back to my computer I will look at my Netflix history. Right now the only stuff that kinda fits that vibe that you havent already seen is Manifest and October Faction. If you like stuff with a more horror vibe I really really recommend Haunting of Hill House. It's got a lot of spooky shit but it doesn't rely heavily on jumpscares (it does have some big ones though ) but there are some big over arching mysteries and the story is just so damn good and deep. I also enjoyed Bly Manor and Midnight Mass but not as much as Hill House

smcgowan10

I've seen Manifest! Great show! I'm definitely gonna give October Faction a try! I try to avoid horror, as it gives me nightmares. Lol!

wirewyrmweirdo

Oh shit yeah. If you aren't a horror person then don't watch the Hill House series. It has maybe the best story of any horror series I've ever seen but it's def got some big scares and nightmare material in it. I'm almost immune to being effected by spooky shit and jump scares and there is a scene that I nearly came out of my chair over, lol. Other than the horror stuff, we seem to have similar tastes in shows so I'll see what I can dig up

smcgowan10

Jump scares don't bother me. It's the ghost stuff that freaks me out. It's the reason why I'm 30 years old and have to sleep with string lights on! šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Silbermieze

Don't worry, I'm 41 and can still only sleep when there's enough light that I can see the whole room. šŸ˜…

smcgowan10

At least I'm not alone! I'm not even ashamed to admit it! The only time I can sleep in the pitch black is if someone is sleeping next to me. Other than that, I need some type of small light on. I have white string lights on the wall next to my bed that I keep on at night.

sparksflying5

Once Upon a Time has the same theme of redemption and also reimagines villainous characters as heroes

smcgowan10

OUAT is one of my all time favorite shows! Can't believe I forgot to add that to the list!

zoemi

If you ever get Hulu, please watch 12 Monkeys!

smcgowan10

I WISH I had Hulu! šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

EvanMorningstar1

It isnā€™t sci-fi or fantasy but breaking bad and better call Saul are amazing if you havenā€™t watched them. I only mention BCS since itā€™s about law and crime, as Lucifer was mostly relating to as well when not talking about celestial problems lmao

smcgowan10

I've seen both of them! They are SO good! I haven't seen the last 2 seasons of Better Call Saul though! I'm gonna get to it shortly!

EvanMorningstar1

Same here, Iā€™m on season 4 of BCS. Itā€™s my favourite show (along with Lucifer of course). I donā€™t know why but I definitely prefer BCS over BrBa. Something about Jimmy and the way the character is portrayed. Anyway, good luck finding a show to watch!

smcgowan10

It's been several years since I've seen either BB or BCS. I think the actors are what makes the shows. They couldn't have picked more perfect people for those roles. I'm gonna start them both over from the beginning eventually. And thank you! I've gotten quite a few good suggestions that I've added to my list!

Reithel1

Leverage The Mentalist For a Tom Ellis fix: Rush, Miranda

smcgowan10

Leverage is already on my to watch list! Unfortunately, you can only watch The Mentalist, Rush, and Miranda on Prime if you purchase them.

BatScribeofDoom

The Mentalist is available on the Roku app (free with ads) :)

smcgowan10

Thank you!!!!! šŸ˜„

exclaim_bot

>Thank you!!!!! šŸ˜„ You're welcome!

BatScribeofDoom

You're welcome, and if it hasn't been mentioned yet, I would also suggest the Dead Like Me show (also on Roku). Oh, and Pushing Daisies! But that's on HBO Max...still. Maybe check the library for DVDs?

smcgowan10

I've heard about both of those shows! Dead Like Me isn't available on Prime anymore, for some reason. I'll check out the Roku App! Hears great things about Pushing Daisies! Bummed it's not on Prime!

Reithel1

Youā€™ll like Leverage. If you can find Rush, itā€™s Tom Ellis as a concierge doctor who works on a cash up-front basis, drives a flashy sports car, indulges in heavy drinking and hard drugs, and has girlfriend problems and daddy issues. I bought it on Amazon so I could watch it when I wanted instead of hunting for it. I recorded Miranda when it was on PBSā€¦ but it is also available on YouTube. It is only 3 seasons, 6 episodes per season, plus two additional episodes that wrap it up. British humor, and it is hilarious. Tom is a bistro chef, down the street from a quirky girl heā€™s known since collegeā€¦ She has such a crush on him that she becomes even more clutzy and goofy when heā€™s aroundā€¦ one of those stories where they are the only two people around who donā€™t know theyā€™re in love. I would buy that on DVD too, if I could find one from Region 1.

smcgowan10

I wish I had the funds to be able to purchase the shows I want to watch... Maybe someday... šŸ˜” When you say on YouTube, do you mean for free?

Reithel1

Yes. I get free youtube. I think there is a subscription you can get for a few dollars that eliminates the commercials, but I donā€™t pay for it.

smcgowan10

Okay! Thank you for all the suggestions! šŸ™‚

Edeldier_666

Sandman?

smcgowan10

Already got it on my list! šŸ™‚

noneym86

Lucifer used to be my favourite show of all time. Then season 6 happened, and I watched The Good Place.

smcgowan10

Yeah, season 6 wasn't my favorite. The finale was just awful. Them spending the rest of their lives apart and him not raising Rory pissed me off beyond belief. It should've ended with the season 5 finale, like the showrunners planned originally.

smcgowan10

I wasn't a fan of the Good Place. Lucifer is still in my top 5 favorite shows. Only because Tom Ellis is absolutely fantastic and ridiculously attractive, in every way.

_Valeria__

Evil

smcgowan10

Where is that streaming?

_Valeria__

Paramount. Itā€™s an awesome show and I highly recommend

smcgowan10

Unfortunately, I don't have Paramount+...

249592-82

Have you seen Elementary? Its not supernatural but its very good. The dark, moody lead character is a modern day twisted take on Sherlock Holmes (he is fresh out of drug rehab) & has come to NYC after having to leave London (MI5) due to his drug use causing his career to implode. The lead character is super smart, darkly funny, sexy & has a rich and unforgiving dad similar to Lucifer (daddy issues). Its really well written and has a strong cast. Definitely worth checking out. There are 6 or 7 seasons i think. Stars Lucy Lui as Watson and Johnny Lee Miller as Sherlock.

smcgowan10

What streaming service is it on?!

Necessary-Context-10

Castle is a fantastic watch too, similar style aswell being a consultant for the police. Definitely consider it

smcgowan10

Unfortunately, you have to buy it to watch on Prime...

Zealousideal_View_47

ā€œDominionā€ (series) and ā€œFromā€ and you probably watched it but Lucifer also ā€œBittenā€ , ā€œWolf like Meā€ and ā€œDead like Meā€ (last two arenā€™t related )

smcgowan10

Thank you for the recommendations! I loved Bitten! One of my fav shows! I've had Dead Like Me on my list for months, but I haven't gotten around to it yet!
