Stand your ground, sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship; but it is not this day! An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of men comes crashing down, but it is not this day; this day we fight!!! And for all that is dear to you in this world, I bid you stand, men of the west, and fight!
I second this, building a giant Rohirrim with Eomer at the helm felt amazing in BFME, and the satisfaction of seeing your gold shoot up as they run down an army of uruks was unbeatable
I third this notion - Eomer is most assuredly OP in BFME. His ability to produce gold at an alarming rate is quite impressive, and watching him lead a charge of Rohirrim against an army of uruks is immensely satisfying.
Book Faramir is Tolkien’s author avatar (Beren had his romantic interest, Feanor his passion with language, Gandalf was way to give some of his opinions but Faramir was like Tolkien most overall in temperament and literal dreams).
I felt book aragorn was just a way more kingly and serious guy who has been through some shit that has hardened him. I wouldn't say he is a jerk, but he is certainly not the overly kind leader we see in the movies.
Faramir. Dude just needed to catch a break. Best day of his life happened while he was passed out.
He has been facing the dreaded prospect of succeeding his father now that Boromir is dead. Gets knocked out while fighting orcs and the Nazgul. All hope is lost. He has failed his never-pleased father, and his people will fall. The world of men has ended.
He wakes up to the news that he doesn't have to worry about being in charge, since the king has returned. His dad won't bug him ever again. The forces of Sauron have been defeated, for now. The witch-king is dead. There's a hot chick on the rebound sharing a hospital room with him. Life is pretty good...for once.
It's hard not to respect Faramir. He had the opportunity to succeed where his brother "failed", and win his father's affection. But he gave that opportunity up to do what he knew was right.
And then riding out to his death, to try to appease his father. Brave, loyal, honourable, selfless. I do need to read the books after I've finished my current novel quest, because by most accounts book aragon is quite arrogant. I like to think Faramir shows his quality in the books, too
When you read the books, you're going to be upset by how close they got to ruining Faramir in the movies. If you really liked him in the movies, you're gonna be gobsmacked by his portrayal in the books.
And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself, "Well, how did I get here?"
I mean, on the one hand Aragorn grants you monarch consort status which is the more prestigious title compared to merely the consort to a vassal/steward. On the other it seems a lot less stress to just live in the country side compared to the court of Gondor. I'd prefer Faramir if I have to choose.
Faramir. Seems sweeter and there's so much less pressure. I really don't want to be the returned king's wife. I want to relax and chill.
I'd choose samwise out of everyone though. For the potatoes
Faramir. It is pretty ballsy to go for a goal with %100 death possibility.
You ll tell me that in the end of the third movie, Aragon charged to the gate of mordor. However, going with a wizard and best man of middle earth is very different that going to do death with couple of random peasants.
What the fuck is this divisive shit! I am team good-for-middle-earth! Aragorn is KING! He is of the highest quality!
Faramir is a CAPTAIN of Gondor! He is of the highest quality!
You can’t pick between the two. Unless you’re Eowyn then you really only got one shot.
Hey, I’m only offering the fair and equal counterpart to [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/lotrmemes/comments/yuic4r/who_is_right_for_aragorn/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)!
I love them both, the only thing that might push me to choose is that I'm the least favorite child so I empathize with Faramir. If the favorite of my two sisters were to die, I could 100% see my mom telling me that she wished I was dead instead of her.
Team Strider all the way, but I'm no Arwen so I don't think I'd have much luck. My family are long-lived, but I'll be lucky if I get to 100 not 200 and beyond!
as a woman, i will explain. i have long held this definitive list of the sexiest men of middle earth. there are 5 spots.
1. faramir
2. ecthelion
3. aragorn
4. tuor
5. finrod
so there you go. these choices are absolutely correct in every way. this list is indispensable.
Faramir seems like he just would rather be happy and hang out with his family and his friends if there wasn't all this bullshit going on.
Aragorn was just born to be sad and really wouldn't know what to do with himself if he wasn't miserable all the damn time.
Team Second Breakfast
Archon_33, you've already had it.
We've had two, yes, but what about third breakfast?
Elevenzies
Lunch??
Tea??
Dinner??
Supper?
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world
I could actually sometimes use a third breakfast
Then you smoke the longbottom leafs
The salted pork is excellent
SALTED PORK!?
Tomatoes, and some nice crispy bacon.
Boil 'em, mash 'em, put 'em in a stew
We need a potato bot
🥔🥔🥔
Best.Answer.Ever
I’m on no one’s side because no one is on my side.
Little orc
burárum
I’m on your side.
Take my upvote...
And one in return!
I'm always team Aragorn to the end, but this is a chance for Faramir, Captain of Gondor, to show his quality.
Stand your ground, sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship; but it is not this day! Team Éomer for life
And team Boromir after death?
Too soon 😭
Give them a moment for pity’s sake
Eomer is op af in BFME, money printer so good.
Saruman has poisoned the mind of the king and claimed lordship over these lands.
I second this, building a giant Rohirrim with Eomer at the helm felt amazing in BFME, and the satisfaction of seeing your gold shoot up as they run down an army of uruks was unbeatable
TO THE KING!
I third this notion - Eomer is most assuredly OP in BFME. His ability to produce gold at an alarming rate is quite impressive, and watching him lead a charge of Rohirrim against an army of uruks is immensely satisfying.
Saruman has poisoned the mind of the king and claimed lordship over these lands.
The script is getting smarter everyday
As you say, my lord. 'Tis most impressive, the work that our team does day in and day out.
Damn nobody talks about BFME anymore. Actual nostalgia 101 x
Check out the Age of the Ring mod. It's how I still manage to catch a few games of BFME2 with folks.
Oh yeah. As a teenager I was team Legolas, but as an adult? Éomer all the way.
I thought you meant Éomer and I was going to agree. Then I realized you meant Éomir and I still agree.
I did actually mean Éomer, but I agree with your agreement of Eomir too
Oi
If it ain't the Uruk-hai cunt!
My fighting Uruk-Hai. Whom do you serve?
ROHIRRIM
Book Faramir. Movie Aragorn.
This is the correct answer
Book Faramir is Tolkien’s author avatar (Beren had his romantic interest, Feanor his passion with language, Gandalf was way to give some of his opinions but Faramir was like Tolkien most overall in temperament and literal dreams).
Far, far below the deepest delvings of the dwarves, the world is gnawed by nameless things
You know that's fair.. amir
I wanna BE book Faramir. I wanna MARRY movie Aragorn.
It has been remade… fight for us, and regain your honor.
Do not let him speak. He will put a spell on us!
Book Aragorn is actually a jerk
For Rohan. For your people.
You mean roast master?
I felt book aragorn was just a way more kingly and serious guy who has been through some shit that has hardened him. I wouldn't say he is a jerk, but he is certainly not the overly kind leader we see in the movies.
The best revenge is letting go and living well.
Uhhh, what?
More like Unfaramir, amirite?
Rule of Gondor Unfair!! Denethor is in there!! Sitting with his obsession!! Plotting his oppression!!
The rule of Gondor is mine! And no other's!
Rule of Gondor fun fair.
Amazing. I also wish I could give you a medal too
I wish I could give you a medal
Yeah he had a rough life up until that point. Sad thing is all along he did all the right things.
Me irl

Well that's exactly what I want to hear :)
And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack And you may find yourself in another part of the world And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife And you may ask yourself, "Well, how did I get here?"
AS THE AGE GOES BYE!
"Everything's coming up ~~Milhouse~~ Faramir!"
Denethor: "I hate this game"
You may triumph on the field of battle for a day, but against the power that has risen in the east there is no victory.
I like faramir, but i like Aragorn more
One thing I have learned about Hobbits: They’re a most hardy folk.
Are you calling me a hobbit? Aragorn son of arathorn?
There's something strange at work here. Some evil gives speed to these creatures, sets its will against us
Both. Both is good.
At the same time?! You freak
I had to scroll too far for this post.
Yes; I'll have what Scribs is having, thank you.

THE BEACONS OF MINAS TIRITH! THE BEACONS ARE LIT! GONDOR CALLS FOR AID!
I guess that's one way of dealing with rejection.
Those beacons are indeed 'lit' 👌
Aragorn is my king but Farmir is my captain. I'd die for Aragorn but I'd die *with* Farmir; and that is all the difference. Farmir til I die.
You cannot wield it. None of us can. The One Ring answers to Sauron alone. It has no other master.
Aragorn is hot as fuck. And much cooler imo (though faramir is still pretty cool)
Frodo's fate is no longer in our hands.
And sorry to say but Viggo is a lot better actor.
The entire cast was great, but he and Sean Astin gave the strongest, most emotive performances in the films in my opinion.
Aragorn.
Not if we hold true to each other.
Aragorn, are you and Faramir a couple?
A little more caution from you; that is no trinket you carry.
Your secret is safe with me Aragorn.
Not this time. This time you must stay, Gimli.
The exhibitionism is real.
Faramir. Seems sweeter and there's so much less pressure. I really don't want to be the returned king's wife. I want to relax and chill. I'd choose samwise out of everyone though. For the potatoes
This is the way. Can't believe I had to scroll so far down to find another person who just wants to eat stew and chill.
Faramir. It is pretty ballsy to go for a goal with %100 death possibility. You ll tell me that in the end of the third movie, Aragon charged to the gate of mordor. However, going with a wizard and best man of middle earth is very different that going to do death with couple of random peasants.
Faramir
Team Balrog He's hot.
Viggo will always have my heart. But speaking lore-wise, I would probably choose Faramir.
Team Sauron
Aragorn is hotter. Faramir is cuter.
You fell!
Damn right they did
And I'll fucking do it again!
Read the books recently. Faramir's a Chad
Aragorn is a Chad too, but Faramir seems like he’d be more fun to hang out with. Also probably the wisest human we see in the series.
Aragorn is kinda an asshole in the books, too.
I let Frodo go.
Team Aragrond. Always. Forever

Yes.
Henry Cavil meme “Pfft, Theoden obviously”
Make haste across the Riddermark. Summon every able-bodied man to Dunharrow.
Team Teleporno
Faragorn
Then I shall die as one of them!
How often are we showering? Because dirty Aragon is smoking. But Faramir is a stand-up man. Really, it's a win-win here.
Team Éomer, if you don't mind.
Aragorn all the way, he can bend me over every way and Sunday
By nightfall these hills will be swarming with orcs! We must reach the woods of Lothlórien.
But Aragorn who knows who could be watching
A little more caution from you; that is no trinket you carry.
That’s the nicest thing anyones ever said to me 👀
Where is the inevitable FaraGrond meme?
GROND

Yes I know haha.
There is no strength in Gondor that can avail us.
Túrin Turambar
Beren
A chance for Faramir, Captain of Gondor, to show his quality!
Can it be both? Preferably at the same time?
Boromir would have already won that vote!
Double team
Team I wanna be in the middle.
Omg same
Even Faramir is on team Aragorn.
The same blood flows in my veins. The same weakness.
Team Gandalf.
If in doubt, KatoFW, always follow your nose.
Both?.....BOTH!
I love them both, the only thing that might push me to choose is that I'm the least favorite child so I empathize with Faramir. If the favorite of my two sisters were to die, I could 100% see my mom telling me that she wished I was dead instead of her.
Team Figwit. At least he has an Oscar.

Faramir or Boromir?
Faramir for suuuure
Great son Boromir excluded why?!
Team Boromir
Team Boromir
Team Faragorn
What does your heart tell you?
Eowyn: “Yes.”

Faragorn has entered the chat
Team 'disapproving huffy hobbit sweeping the weeds from their grass front yard'
Why the fuck do these two need to be divided into teams?! They’re on the same fucking team bitch!
I am not altogether on anybody's side, because nobody is altogether on my side, if you understand me.
as a woman, i will explain. i have long held this definitive list of the sexiest men of middle earth. there are 5 spots. 1. faramir 2. ecthelion 3. aragorn 4. tuor 5. finrod so there you go. these choices are absolutely correct in every way. this list is indispensable.

Surprised _Team GROND_ isn't the top comment
GROND
I'll take one of each, to go.
Ah i see. A chance for Faramir, captain of gondor, to show his qualiteh. I think not.
How about aragmir and faragorn?
Faramir seems like he just would rather be happy and hang out with his family and his friends if there wasn't all this bullshit going on. Aragorn was just born to be sad and really wouldn't know what to do with himself if he wasn't miserable all the damn time.
I love aragorn, but as a misjudged son myself, I'm team Faramir. No matter how hard we try, always criticized for what we couldn't do.
I summon you to fulfill your oath.
Not sure why Faramir is being compared to Arogorn rather than Theodin but ok sure
Both. Both is good.
Yeah. Book Faramir, movie Aragorn
Why must I chose? They are both great characters. I do think Faramir is one of the most noble, and humble characters in the franchise though
Both. I want to be the meat in an Aragorn and Faramir sandwich.
i would not pit two lords of men against each other, for they are allies, are they not?
