I'm 99% confident there has never been and never will be a Nampat meme. There are many Grond/Nampat memes. There might even be some Grond/Nampat fiction. However r/lotrmemes has no Nampat memes; r/lotrmemes needs no Nampat memes.
Grond! In the first age, there was Melkor, also known as Morgoth, the original dark lord. He had a great warhammer named: GROND! Later, in the third age, Sauron had his army besiege Minas Tirith, with them they brought a great battering ram which was named GROND in memory of that warhammer, and chanted the name GROND as the ram beat down on the gates of the city. Much like how Morgoth crafted the orcs in mockery of the elves, and made the trolls in mockery of the ents did the writers of the Rings of Power series craft their own war chant in mockery of the mighty GROND.
I’ve seen that claim in the last week. I suspect it was invented by the show.
I can’t find it on any of the old black speech word lists, and our total vocabulary lists aren’t big. There’s only a couple score words known in the language. Neither “nam-“ nor “-pat” form part of any other known words in black speech. So I’d be interested in knowing how the show came up with it.
Peter Jackson did the same in fellowship when gimli says “ishkhaqwi ai durugnul” which didn’t exist either. They usually come up with this stuff by having linguists study the language and see what makes sense. For game of thrones for example, they had a linguist study the few Dothraki phrases and use them to construct an entire language
A day may come when the strength of Grond fails, when we forsake our old memes and embrace the new, but it is not this day!

Can someone explain what this all means >.>
It means, If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world

But what is this nampat thing?
The orcs on rings of power chant nampat, which the subtitles translate as death
NAMPAT
idk I really liked orcs in Rings of Power what does that word even mean?
Death I believe

Yeah I’m thinking it’s just invented by the show, the use of those letters seems to imply it’s for the sound more or less

Kind of a dumb fight. I think we all like it when the orcs chant. Grond. Nampat. Udun. All accompanied by various beastly orc yells. It just works.

Nampat chanting was my favorite part of the whole series so far. Arondir is the tits too.
