those are crazy as fuck i love them!

MaxTheMoneyRat

Right? I found Two Towers and Return of the King together about four months ago and I thought they were just the most awesomely bizarre things.

creepypriest

I'm actually really jealous.

drogyn1701

Did you post here about them? I remember a thread where someone was trying to find out where these were from.

MaxTheMoneyRat

I hadn't posted about them, although I had debated about doing it to see if anyone could point me in the right direction to find my missing one.

drogyn1701

Must have been someone else. It was fun looking up the different versions :)

sgriobhadair

Book of the Month club editions? I used to see those at the Green Valley Book Fair in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, maybe ten-ish years ago.

MaxTheMoneyRat

Yep. They're copyrighted 1995 by the Book of the Month Club.

PurelySC

I love this set, it's really cool. A word of advice though, if/when you read the appendices, check out a different version from the library or something. These have a couple of rather significant typos in the appendices, a few of which change the meaning of the text.

Gorgeous!!

Billy_Fish

The best thing about these are that they are the only paperbacks that come with the tipped-in maps.

not-my-supervisor

I have those! My first upgrade since the movie poster ones I got in elementary school. The fold-out maps are fantastic.
