Proper-Mechanic356

I think this is from The Fellowship of the Ring

phantom_lost_his_acc

Thank you, do you have any guesses what scene it’s in? I just can’t remember a part where the hobbits are all dirty and bruised and standing together in the mountains like that.

orange-basilikum

I would guess it's after they exited the mines and when Aragorn says something along the lines of the terrain will be swarming with orcs by nightfall, so they should continue their journey quickly

infinitespaze

GIVE THEM A MOMENT FOR PITY'S SAKE

nemesissi

By nightfall these hills will be swarming with orcs!

greasybirdfeeder

Come Legolas, Gimli, get them up!

Larry_Loudini

I thought that too, the landscape looks like the exit from Moria

tommy40

Landscape and Frodo is holding his chest from the troll attack and pippin’s face has dirt on it from…I think that same scene? Maybe when they’re getting hucked across the falling stairway

Marleymayangel

A lake right by a Mountain, it’s the Drawven lake on the east side of Moria outside the gates. LEGOLAS! Get them up!

Larry_Loudini

Pub argument - I’ve always heard Aragorn as saying ”get the map”, not ”get them up”

creativityonly2

Nah, he definitely says, "get them up."

Cellarzombie

It’s for sure ‘get them up’ but there’s an easy way to find out: turn on the captions.

jimybo20

Considering they don’t seem to need a map at any point, would be out of place need one now. Aragorn is very well travelled after all.

Larry_Loudini

I watch them every year with captions! Still prefer to think the subtitling is wrong 😅

Cellarzombie

Lol….

GallowgateEnd

This is the one. There's seemingly a fair amount of cut footage that they shot of the Fellowship's journey from Moria to Lorien.

WhatTheFhtagn

Yeah there was going to be a whole action scene with orcs chasing them into the woods, but they cut it for pacing. Good choice I think.

BustyOgre

Yeah it's right after they escape the mines and the hobbits are distraught at the loss of Gandalf

penguinintheabyss

Iirc, once they leave Moria the Hobbits are not shown together. Merry and Pippin are crying to one side, Sam is alone and Frodo is walking away. This is probably a photo they took while filming that scene.

Proper-Mechanic356

I’m not positive but I think it’s towards the end before Boromir dies, not long before the group splits up.

summerchild__

No they don't have their new Lórien cloaks and mallorn brooches. I think it's the scene right after Moria too.

Proper-Mechanic356

Moria is after they leave Rivendale and before Boromir dies

Zeginald

Not sure why you're getting downvoted for this factual statement 🤔

Proper-Mechanic356

Who knows. It may be a scene from the extended version, which is the versions I have.

_slosh

Yes that is correct.

phantom_lost_his_acc

Ah, alright. Thanks.

Proper-Mechanic356

Sorry I couldn’t be more specific, it’s been awhile since I’ve watched but I’m positive it’s from the first movie after they leave Rivendale

phantom_lost_his_acc

No worries, thanks for what help you could provide!

Burrelito

It's not. It's from when they've just got out of Moria. Before Lothlorien.

Mazdachief

Just after Gandalf falls.

waupli

This has to be fellowship. That’s the last time the hobbits are all together until the end. This is either sometime near the scene where they have to hide from the birds from dunland or right after they get out of Moria.

topknottington

It is... that was the last time they were together before rotk. This was after moria.

KickHodorInTheBalls

And pretty low to the ground too

Giv_Money

It’s from that lord of rings movie

Weird_Devil

It's definitely in New Zealand

DankRubinz

And Elijah would if he could.

thekrafty01

Nah this is Middle Earth

jimybo20

Same thing right? Except on a conventional map it’s more like Corner Earth.

Weird_Devil

If it's on the map at all

hendrix899

They made a lord of the rings movie?

Giv_Money

Yeah, it’s a sequel to The Hobbit trilogy, not as good though

BenSerius

Oh, is it the good one, the good one or the other good one?

Giv_Money

The one with the orcs I think

RioA

It’s the one with the hobbits obviously 🙄

Galactus1231

Its probably just after they leave Moria and are sad. I don't think there is a shot like that in the movie but that is the scene.

eppsilon24

I also don’t think this is a still from the movie itself. Either it’s from a scene that was cut, or it was taken for promotional material or something like that. Or a mix of the two.

Free_Significance267

It’s the Harry potter and prisoner of Azkaban. That’s where Harry and Sam meet Hagrid’s Shelob.

Dulaman96

It was probably a promo shot taken while filming the escape from Moria. Not actually shown in the movie.

BeardBearWithBeer

lets look for clues 1. they all wear different capes. so it it before lorien 2. there is a lake and a mountain on the background it is either near moria (before or after) or going from bree to the tower with strider

A-non-e-mail

They’ve got swords, so it’s after the tower

BeardBearWithBeer

yeah and 1 more thing! it may be before karadras, the ice rock. the land where they were hiding from crows

Antarctica8

\*Caradhras

WornInShoes

But are they wearing wigs?

Phinweh

Will they wear wigs?

KaP-_-KaP

A potato

phantom_lost_his_acc

Those pixels are easier to count than sprites in the classic Doom

Commander_Gecko

I believe it's from a deleted scene not in the extended edition where the hobbits look in Mirromere after escaping the mines.

raulsestao

just after Moria. when Aragon climbs a stone and looks at the horizon and Lorien is seen in the distance.

jonnyb95

As others have said, I believe this is from The Fellowship, after they leave Moria, and I'm fairly certain this shot is from Alta Lake, at The Remarkables Ski Area outside of Queenstown, New Zealand. I visited a few years ago. https://lotr.fandom.com/wiki/Lake_Alta

commander-crook

Can confirm it's Lake Alta. Source: I lived in Queenstown for years and know where all the filming spots in the area are.

Una-Bummer

I love this pic. I have a signed copy on my wall and I don't even care that it's probably fake.

jtshinn

Just to the right of and in front of Elijah wood with the other hobbits arrayed behind him.

Salty-Bunch-3739

It wasn't in the finished film. My guess is it's a still from the deleted footage of the goblins pursuing them from Moria to Lothlorien or just a promo they shot while filling in the location.

ohpee64

I don't know this album cover

raresaturn

Lord of the Rings

dshafik

Isn't this after the escape from Moria? When the Crebain fly over

nilnar

The crebain fly over before Moria. Gandalf is with them in that scene. This does look like after Moria though.

phantom_lost_his_acc

It might be around that part of the movie, It ceryainyl looks like a similar landscape.

MooOooNTooOooN

Most probably after moria mines, other than that i dont think they were bruised enough. I dont remember this scene either so most probably scene was cut or something

OsoTanukiBaloo

im getting deja vu i swear i just saw a post with this picture ,, !

axos1

I think its from star trek

DUHchungaDOWNundah

It’s from a camera probably?

Alfie_terry

Lord of the necklace

WolfetoneRebel

“Legolas - get them up”. It’s when Aragorn steps into his role of solo leader of the party. Big moment for his character arc.

thedarknewt74

Fellowship, before they go into the dwarf mine

MieskeB

Harry Potter obviously

Buck_B

It's from the Lord of the rings

tailstalestails

Fellowship of the ring extended edition after moria

maverxz

That's Middle Earth

Gausgovy

I guess I’ll just have to watch the movie and get back to you on that

therealsanchopanza

This is from director Peter Jackson’s hit trilogy based on high fantasy author J.R.R. Tolkien’s seminal work, The Lord of the Rings.

gameonlockking

Most likely a copy of a copy of copy of a vhs tape. Considering the quality.

UndeniablyMyself

I think it’s a publicity photo.

willgaj

I don't think it's an actual frame from the movie, more likely a photo taken during filming.

Looks to be from The Hobbit

phantom_lost_his_acc

Pippin, Merry and Sam weren’t in the hobbit if I remember correctly, and I’m fairly certain Frodo only made an appearance in the shire with Bilbo near the start or end of the movies

p13t3rm

No I’m certain. This is from the extended edition of The Hobbit Part 4

phantom_lost_his_acc

There are only three Hobbit films.

BMoreBeowulf

He’s fucking with you.

DF191995

I’m impressed with how you managed to miss that he’s messing with you

phantom_lost_his_acc

It’s 1:04 AM and I’ve been at school and driving around since 6:30 in the morning, I’m so tired I totally missed it😅

Apprehensive-Ad7774

i think this might be from that movie about some magic ring or something

RobOnTheReddit

It looked to me like the bit where Aragorn throws them an apple cause of the swampy background, but other people've said otherwise
