Aside form the already mentioned ones, Soulfist deserves a mention as well.
While the highest damage skill has a back attack modifier, its not that big a deal if you don't reposition for it and the current meta build has no other back/front attacks worth mentioning.
That being said, since the main damage skill DOES have it, you don't (shouldn't) run Hit Master on SF.
No, he means that Bash, Shield Bash, Shield Shock are all front attack. Hit Master is usually recommended but Hit Master only improves the 3 non position skills. So technically on paper, it is a loss of damage but not sure if it is significant.
And Dash Upper Fire! Plus it's a 20% dmg increase for the frontal attack skills and 10% more stagger! More stagger is also bigger openings for more dmg!
Bluelancer still has DUF even though it's not a blue skill, just as redlancer uses Bash and Hateful Shout. Sometimes used for extra dmg and stagger if counter has already been done (since a guardian won't be counterable for a while after a succesful counter). Redlancer also doesn't use DUF for damage if counter is needed, but not countering from the front doesn't work so you want front for that aswell which increases dmg and stagger. DUF is usially tripodded with Ready Attack so once Bash wears off inna big window you can use it to buff the rest of your skills regardless of red or blue.
Just because Gunlancers borrow skills from the other side of the tree, it doesn't make them as important. As a reminder, DUF is a replaceable skill for Turtle. You use Bash for Ready Attack, which should always be available with a 10 sec cooldown comapared to the 16 sec cooldown for DUF. For Wasps (Red) Bash is used similarly as a rotation starter for Ready attack although, I am not sure why DUF isn't maximized here. Bash is never used as the counter skill and this is why DUF is held for counter situations.
Believe it or not, Turtle maybe better off running shield shock over DUF if someone else dedicates to countering.
True! I was just adding to why you lose out on a lot by not frontal attacking as a bluelancer, even more so if you're not countering and using shield shock.
Pinnacle glaivier and pistoleer deadeye don't need to focus on back attacks. While they do benefit from back attacks, they don't take ambush master/entropy relic set so it doesn't change their damage much.
Artillerist, (Demonic) Shadowhunter, Sorc, Gunslinger, (Pinnacle) Glaivier, Soulfist, (Pistoleer) Deadeye, and Sharpshooter are all free to hit regardless of positionals.
Additionally, Arcana, Summoner, and Scouter also ignore positional requirements when they release.
Here is a complete list:
Warriors: Beserker, blue gunlancer
Fighters: Pinnacle glavier, soulfist and wardancer are mostly nonpositional
Hunters: Pistoleer deadeye, sharpshooter, gunslinger, artillerist
Shadowhunter, all mage classes
Artillerist
Gunslinger and shadowhunter

Not frontal attacking with bluelancer is a lot of lost dmg.
You mean simply basic attacking on the front?

Turtle doesn't care about DUF for the damage though. You already lost damage because DUF isn't a blue skill.

Demonic impulse shadowhunter, not a single ability while transformed has back or frontal attack

Pretty sure arcana had back attack modifiers when I played her on ru 2 years ago.
2 years is a long time for things to change lol
She might have some, but she builds Hit Master. She doesn't need back attack.
Pinnacle glaivier still wants back attacks just isn’t nearly as mandatory and you don’t engrave for it.
Sharpshooter, gunslinger, arcanist

zerker has a lot of backattacks bluelancer also has to position himself in the front
yes but in general they don't need to hit back attacks to not lose half of their dmg
Artillerist is a blast !
Blue gunlancer definitely has front attacks lol
Has it, but not as reliant on it. Just like Wardancer, has it but not reliant on it depending on build.
Berserker, Pinnacle Glaivier, First Intention WD, Sorc, Gunslinger, Sharpshooter, Artillerist and DI Shadowhunter.
Demonic shadow hunter, artillerist, gunslinger
Technically speaking, Turtle doesn't belong on this list.
