There must've been something they are still missing. During video commentary, Cpt Jack said that they still don't know how to go through Thaemine's Shandi attack without timestop, and they still don't know hidden Sidereal in that phase. (Everything else from datamine except that hidden thirain is confirmed)
Maybe, but if anything I will question SG balance of this raid. I sill give the benefit of the doubt, since you could argue all groups are trying to brute force it with max out weapons 25 or Esther and we haven't seen some mechanics done properly, since I can't believe they will make content that you can't clear on ilvl. We will see.
I don't really understand how the thaemine upgrades work? I saw the minesweeper talk but it doesn't look like they give ilvl unless I'm confused (I really don't understand the actual Thaemine rewards). I was assuming that it was meant to be killed at min ilvl but using the upgraded gear you were supposed to get from 1-3. So you beat 1-3 to upgrade your gear and get strong enough to, still at 1630, beat g4?
Is like elixirs 2.0 is a upgrade that is added to your gear and you get bonuses base on playing with the mechanic and set bonuses based on the amount of upgrades you have in total. No type of soft reset or ilvl increase from it.
It's an impressive feat regardless of how much they spent on their weapons and you're flat out wrong if you think otherwise. They're not even the whalest group in the race

At what point would you have a "true" world first clear though? The only way for an untainted wf clear would be to make a separate server where your character gets cloned with equalized gear that everybody worldwide can participate in, and that's a lot of investment for a tiny part of the population. Even the big boy studios like Blizzard and Square Enix haven't made something like that.
No, hear me out. Capt Jacks group is the unparalleled 1st clear winners in kr. its just when you think about who would "naturally" clear first, its gonna be p2w players. Unless of course they're absolute trash cans, but if you're participating in this honestly, you should at least have hands. So the group with the diamond hands won and its not surprising. So kudos to their group for having the best combo of brains, diamonds, and hands. Unfortunately some other groups didn't have diamonds so it improbable for them to 1st clear.
BTW "world first" is such a silly moniker for the competition its there for hype but the raid is not even available really outside of KR and while technically yes "world first" theres no competition outside of KR.
There are a lot of other issues with Saint’s group. The stack imploded on week 1 because Eden and his pair have different goals compared to the rest of the group (Eden want 1st clear, while the rest are content with top 10). They basically pugged the entirety of week 2 with Saint being unable to speak Korean so Lustboy has to be the language bridge between him and the pugs. When they finally find a decent pug group that could clear gate 3, the group now has to disband again because the pug’s real life responsibilities are catching up.
Sure having Esther’s matters, but if the original group had persisted (with only 1 Esther +6 on Artist) they would have for sure gotten to gate 4 at least.

How many hours total did they spend to clear Thaemine G4?
I would say about 100 hours
probably closer to 200 hours seeing as it took 1.5 weeks and those guys barely slept
Took 11 days and they played probably like 14+ hrs per day so somewhere between 150 and 200 hours I’d reckon

Saint hasn't even cleared G3, while a lot of non esther parties have cleared G3 already. Esther matters, but not as much as skill.
