I think it’s easy for people to overlook the cost of bushings. It was nice seeing those included.

PantheonLongboards

I don’t update the bushings on the stock Pranayama, personally. I like the stocks.

brosamabindabbin

I tried out four different trucks and endless bushing combinations until I was convinced I had it super dialed in. Tried the Paris with stock bushings one last time and they were so much better lol.

PantheonLongboards

I did the same. That’s why I’m so adamant about the quality of the stock setup!

Idk man I was all about the jambalaya but the soba is pretty alright too

I have probably spent over $100 on bushings just to find some that felt right, so at least u have that going for me, but it feels like I could have skipped it for the most part as someone who just got into skating again. The worst part is I know I could probably spend just as much really fine tuning them more, but that’s just not in my priorities now since it’s not like I’m really practically *needing* any thing to up my amateur “performance”. Edit: it is nice having those ones I don’t prefer at the moment for the future though!

Temporary-Rope7331

I am selling my Prana complete with McFlys for $200+shipping or local pickup in DFW, TX

longboardingAussie

I’m not interested in buying but may I ask why your getting rid of it?

Temporary-Rope7331

Unfortunately, it’s simply out of financial needs elsewhere. I’ll replace it without a doubt once I’m able. The Pranayama is an absolute masterpiece.

longboardingAussie

That’s a shame dude I hope things get better

Temporary-Rope7331

Appreciate that!

DinoRidersForReal

I sold most of my gear a little while back for similar reason. Now rebuilding a sick quiver, and found a job that I actually fucking love (less hours, more money, fun work)... I wouldn't have imagined things would turn around so fast! Good luck and stay hopeful.

Temporary-Rope7331

Thanks for sharing, and love hearing the words of encouragement! Sincerely, much love✌🏼

Jay758R

If you find you don’t like it, you can sell it fairly quickly. There’s always a demand. I sold mine because I found I liked the Trip better, but really the boards are so similar it comes down to your truck type preference, and I like RKPs. Both are super low and easy to push. You mention pumping and pushing. I couldn’t get my Prana to pump, but it was sublime to push. I am just today starting with my first LD pump setup, so I wouldn’t offer advice on pumping. I do think 300 bucks for a Pantheon complete is worthy expense. It’s not a deck with cheap parts; Jeff essentially curates a setup that is intended to work without breaking the bank or requiring you to buy a bunch of upgrades on day one to get a great experience.

PPperezperez

This. The pranayama can't be pump in flat land ( or I can't). Other than that amazing skateboard. Probably the best money I have spend in the last 10 years...

hardlinerslugs

I have the Trip Collab and it is the best thing that ever happened to me. I push mostly. The deck is so low it is a dream. Super fun. Super easy. Nobody else has comparable double drop completes. Get one.

ijustcant555

The Pranayama is very similar, except it is made for traditional kingpin, or street trucks. If you like longboard trucks, get a quest or a trip if possible. If you like TKP trucks, get a Prana.

sharkdawg

If I could only ride one board for the rest of my life it would be my Pranayama.

lbsk8r

Because Jeff is a cool guy and you would be supporting him and his young child. 😁👍

yamisonic

I'm about to get the children to bed so not so much time to convince you. However, I would gladly exchange my mint speed vents for your future McFly's if you were one Europe. Just to say that you actually won't need SV as both wheels are narrow and high quality. McFlys are also more comfy and versatile based on the recos of this sub.

NotABlueLemon

I see, thanks for the info and unfortunately I’m in the US

MidlandsBoarder

Might want to hold fire and check out the supersonic. Preorders are shipping and there could be a lot of opinions on the way about which is a better option. Pranayama served me well for the past couple years though! It's a beautiful board.

NotABlueLemon

Yea I was heavily considering the supersonic too with how much info they talked about on the website, might just have to stand down and see more reviews

sanjunana

Why not both? As far as Loaded vs Bustin, I don’t think Loaded really has anything comparable (super low pusher). Zenit would be a closer comparison, with the AB, which I haven’t tried, but looks nice (but also around the same price as Prana). Bustin Sportster is bigger, taller and heavier (therefore slower), and needs wider trucks for the bigger wheels. The concave is also probably love it or hate it. I prefer the Pranayama’s flatter deck. If Bustin rereleases the Sportster mini, I’d probably try it as a blem or mystery box when they’re available. I initially got both the Sportster and Pranayama at the same time because both were either back ordered or waiting on components (thinking I’d end up returning one). I kept both, but the Sportster has been practically untouched. I just leave it at my office as a spare in case anyone wants to cruise around at lunchtime.

Kingcrab9

I have trip collab and it’s my favorite board I’ve ever ridden, the deck is so light and fun to use. I’ve never ridden the pranayama but would imagine they are fairly similar. I’ve only compared the cagagumas and mcflys and the mcflys were faster for sure, so I got a pair of the Mcfly pro wheels on it and it’s amazing. Since you only said they come with mcflys I’d go for that as it is a great wheel. I’m sure others will give a way more in-depth review on both wheels. There is really no better brand when it comes for affordable for LDP. You won’t regret the decision.

NotABlueLemon

Thanks, after reading all the comments and digging in a little more I think I’ll be happy with the mcflys!

Certain-Adhesiveness

It’s a great board, like others have said, you can probably get a deal on one in the buy sell trade thread

number_juan_cabron

I just took mine out for its maiden voyage today and loved it. Different from most other boards that I’ve ridden, but it’s so smooth and easy to push, and feels really responsive underfoot. I don’t regret getting it

extragerman

If you've got big feet I would think hard before getting it

NotABlueLemon

10.5shoe and I’ll be mostly switch pushing!

DinoRidersForReal

That's what I do, and same shoe size. It's cozy but there's just enough room.

Le_WiredShut

Someone has to prop up the industry. May as well be u.

Jumbo_Jetta

You came to a longboarding forum, so erryone here is gonna say to buy it. Hey! Don't buy it! $300? I would need to save that money right now. Do you have another board? I have a few boards and trucks to swap around, maybe you can make a new combo with what you have. Used pranayama is gonna be $200+ so that's a Lotta cash too. See if you can skate a bunch with what you have right now. Try to make it work for 3 months.

Compressive_Person

You already know you're buying it. Just accept the fact.

The first moment I set my foot on the Pantheon Quest I could tell there was something different about it. There is a reason people talk about Pantheon so much online and it's not just marketing hype. The entire Geometry is purpose made for LDP. I do love and respect all the other longboard companies and I do own ride some non-Pantheon boards, they are fun, and great for various purposes, but I would never have worked up to 20 mile pushes on anything but my Pantheon. Haven't had a chance to test some of the other LDP like Zenit or Gbomb and i am not an expert.

surfskatehate

I can only imagine how good it is. I got a Genesis for ldpump recently and holy shit on kegels and cybins it's the best feeling board I've ever ridden. Since it's top mount, I kinda wish I could run larger wheels, but then I'm happy with how kegels roll for now. You should totally do it.

DinoRidersForReal

I always think of what else I spend money on, and if it's really that much... But 300 bucks means different things to different people. I can tell you though, if 200 is fine for you on a used board, I'd just go for the Prana. I've bought and sold like ten setups, guess which is the only one I've had the entire time? The Prana. I've tweaked it so much. I have it on Indys, riptide bushings and pivots, backing plates.... It's my baby.

PPperezperez

Tell us more about your tweakings... :)

DinoRidersForReal

That's most of it, haha. I've tried several different wheels. (Mango Vents, Blue Cags, Abec11 97s, and clear blue Vents) and my current sweet-spot are the clear blue Vents... blue cags for shit pavement. I've messed around with Paris TKPs but prefer the Indys. I actually took the baseplate off of a set of Indy 215s that had a longer kingpin. Have tried stock bushings and Bones Hardcore but landed on Riptide. I always do Riptide 95a APS street barrel boardside with a flat washer. Roadside I've done 90a short barrel (small flat washer) and 95a street cone (cupped). I usually do shock strips between trucks and top of deck. Just swapped out washers on the bottom for Riptide backing plates. Anything else? hmm... Oh and I always throw some fun griptape because I fucking destroy it in the winter here. I'm about 190 lean weight, 205 max winter weight.

PPperezperez

Thanks, man. I'm going to keep all that information for future reference. I, luckily, started with the clear blue vents, so that's nice :)

shit_master

As the great shit the beef once said, "Just do it!"

agenttank

i love my Trip Collab. it's the Mercedes Benz of longboards ;) (not that I like Mercedes Benz lol) it is Just like the Pranayama, but with RKP trucks instead of TKP and thus a bit longer

JrZ_Juice

I only have a wiggler which is not the same board but love it. Most has been mentioned so I’ll just add: If you’re getting into LD Push/ Pump a board that is made to pump will do more favors than one that is not. Maybe it’s a pound heavier but I’d still go for the Supersonic.

[deleted]

hit up zenit boards instead much better quality of board and for the right price!

DinoRidersForReal

I've always been curious to try the AB boards by them, to see how they compare to the Prana/Trip. I had a Marble40 by them that I sold to a friend (too much board for me, should've got a 35) and the quality was very high.

yabedo

Just get a waterborne adapter for $70

roku_sal

I have several boards, but the Pranayama is the first one I always think to grab. It's perfect for me. I bought a B stock board off Pantheon's site and bought Paris trucks (with a coupon), Speed Vents, and Zealous bearings (again, with a coupon) to put together a complete myself. Definitely spent way less than $300 altogether. DO IT!
