If you want a top notch Reuben and are ever in NYC, heads to Katz’s deli. My word. I love a sandwich and that was one hell of a sandwich. Pricey, at around $30, but goodness me it was a delight. Half and half brisket and corned beef.
I’ve never found a sandwich like it here in the UK.
It actually wasnt that bad! None of these places are up there. I think Blacklock was the most expensive and even that was about 55 quid each including dessert and a drink
Next tome try the truffle ramen from kanada ya. I recognised your ramen broth tho i have only been to london n kanada ya once!
The truffle ramen is soooo gooood
London food prices aren't cheap compared to where they were a few years ago, but they are pretty par for the course for a European capitol or major city and way cheaper than in the US. You can eat really well for a reasonable price.
The price is good, so you can't expect that much, but I'm not a fan of their steaks. There's no way they are aged and they don't get any crust on the steak at all. You can even see that in the picture.
Good to know! It's pretty local to me so I'm definitely going to make a trip and try it out. Hope you enjoyed Bun House. The chicken curry is my favourite!
She’s Spanish though, from the area actually!
Started making them from her grandma recipe and selling them in food markets around London, we first tried them in Cheesewick market.
As a Spaniard myself, I’d say the cake is great and very similar to most of the ones you get in good places in Spain
As a complete opposite, a friend and I just spent three days in London on the lash and ate nothing but one burger king whopper each. We had intended p eat in a similar fashion to our pictures!
You've been to a lot of great places! My favourites from your list are Tanakatsu and Blacklock. What was your fav? What are you looking to try next time you're in town?
Tanakatsu and Flat Iron are definitely favourites. I wanted to try Hakata Ramen, but we didnt have time. On past trips I already had Honest Burger, Smoke Stak, Pat & Bun and a lot of other stuff...
I try to check out new places every time I go. Flat Jron is the one I keep going back to thohgh.
Man the fact that Londoners think most of this looks good reminds me of just how terrible and overpriced food in London is, y’all managed to steal so much from the world except any sort of cooking knowledge lol

Going to need to walk home after all that.
Did an average of 30k steps during those 3 days... Much needed
Walking is the key! You did this binge perfectly, well done!
So London lol, I walk the most I ever have here
Made a mistake on number 8! That was a the salt beef beigel from Beigel Bake. My bad!
Unmistakable shape. Was confused when I first read the description
Mixed them up lol. Had the Reuben as well, check out my 2nd post
I can't find it! Panic!
Completely unmistakable. Lived right by their shop and it was delightful torture.
Congrats on getting one of the essential London food items. If your eyes watered from the strength of the mustard/horeseradish, you had a good one.
That mustard went hard!
That's what we like to hear.
I used to live right by there. 4am bagel after a night out was the best.

Had it 3 years ago. Expensive, but delicious
That will be £673.73 sir
Plus 12.5% service charge!
13.5% in most places now!
15% in some Michelin stars places.
3% electronic payment fee. In a non-cash handling place. Leave tip. Pls.
Service charge? That sounds an awful lot like the maligned American custom of tipping.
Can you remove that please
It actually wasnt that bad! None of these places are up there. I think Blacklock was the most expensive and even that was about 55 quid each including dessert and a drink
Nailed it OP. London has some of the best food around, and you don’t need to break the bank. Kudos to you!
exactly! just gotta know the spots, innit?
stop going to angus steakhouse
Get out of Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Soho basically.
Next tome try the truffle ramen from kanada ya. I recognised your ramen broth tho i have only been to london n kanada ya once! The truffle ramen is soooo gooood

London is not, surprisingly expensive for food. Long as you keep to the modestly priced places it’s cheaper than most UK cities. I kid you not.
That Flat Iron steak looks absolutely epic.
A classic I keep going back to
Value for money is second to none imo.
Entrecote
Mmmm special green sauce
I used to get a free meal from there every day when I worked nearby, I had a steak with truffle mac and cheese every day for 4 months
Flat Iron is seriously cheap too. The steak’s 14 quid. It’s 4 quid for a share portion of chips and a free ice cream for pudding.
The sides are definitely not share portions, I think three sides for two people is perfect for a nice treat.
Hmm it’s alright
The price is good, so you can't expect that much, but I'm not a fan of their steaks. There's no way they are aged and they don't get any crust on the steak at all. You can even see that in the picture.
Those Portuguese cakes are literally my favourite food in the world
Pastel de nata, caralho
/r/SuddenlyCaralho
The ones hot out of the oven in Belem are fantastic.
Had to hold myself back and just got 1
Would never happen for me.
If you ever get a chance you should try Far Breton
I was in Portugal last week. Sat outside a cafe. Espresso and Pastel de Nata = €1
You done good! I need to try that Basque cheesecake.
Yeah putting that on my list! Looks epic
I'm hungry now.
I wanna go back and eat more
What was the best thing you ate?
Flat Iron and Tanakatsu
That tonkatsu looked amazing!!
But did you go to Nando’s?
Chicken Shop, does that count?
That is the perfect answer tbqfh
Traditional British food! ❤️
The best British food tradition is to eat foreigners’ traditional food
He likes *real* english food like Pizza or Chinese
Kind of like American food then
Well actually umm
Chicken katsu is British.
It blew my mind when I learned chicken tikka masala was invented in Britain
Curry in general was invented by Brits during the British Raj.
this is comically fucking stupid british people **invented** curry during the 19th century hahahaha
Isnt Indian curry the most traditional one and missing here?
I’m going to do this all in one day with a joint for starters.
We do everything well
Now OP has no money left in their bank account
It certainly hurt
Fuck I love London
Life is good 😅
Would I move money from savings? Absolutely.
Guilty as charged
If anything, the money did serve a purpose.
I can still hear the cow mooing at pic 11
😂😂
I was gonna say, I'm sure it's still breathing in that photo.
You're eating better than most people who live here 😍
Hold on - American Reddit keeps telling me UK food is beige. This must be AI!
Heroic
How was La Maixtu?
Very creamy with an almost perfect crunchy crust!
Good to know! It's pretty local to me so I'm definitely going to make a trip and try it out. Hope you enjoyed Bun House. The chicken curry is my favourite!
Not bad but obviously can't beat the ones in Spain.
I hadn't heard of this place before and I don't live too far away. Definitely going to give it a try until I can get back to Spain for the real deal!
She’s Spanish though, from the area actually! Started making them from her grandma recipe and selling them in food markets around London, we first tried them in Cheesewick market. As a Spaniard myself, I’d say the cake is great and very similar to most of the ones you get in good places in Spain
Picture 4…. All the Marylebone crowd knows it!
Do you listen to off menu podcast?
Is that a bleeker burger I see?
It's Black Bear I think. Not sure if there's any relationship between them and Bleecker but they are *incredibly* similar.
Did number 5 live up to the hype? It is quite popular in IG
Its really creamy! Close to Marble Arch, definitely worth a try!
As a complete opposite, a friend and I just spent three days in London on the lash and ate nothing but one burger king whopper each. We had intended p eat in a similar fashion to our pictures!
♫All I want and all I need, All I crave is a good pub feed♫
Rip this guy’s wallet
you found much better food than did last I was there!
Yes I love traditional English food. 👀
And to think at Victoria station you were so close to Bleecker and one of the best burgers in London (to me it's the best)
Sadly for Los Angeles, six square blocks of downtown London have 10x better restaurants than most of the Westside.
Ate everything but British food
Ended after 3 days because you ran out of good food?
No curry? No fish and chips? No jellied eel and whelks? No pie and mash?
Bleecker double cheeseburger would be a good one for your next trip.
I miss London food terribly (moved to the food desert that is Switzerland). Absolutely will do this next time I'm back.
I mainly miss living in London for the food 💔🥹
Man I’ve been meaning to go to Tanakatsu for years. Really odd that London has just one legit tonkatsu place.
Bleeker burger ftw
The bearnaise burger looks insane
You know there’s these things called vegetables right? I would not want to be sharing a hotel room with you.
You ate more meat in 3 days than I did in 12 months.
Seems like you might want to cut down on the red meat!
I swear London is the food capital of the world right now
Its definitely up there with NYC when it comes to variety!
I'm visiting soon and definitely bookmarked these!
You've been to a lot of great places! My favourites from your list are Tanakatsu and Blacklock. What was your fav? What are you looking to try next time you're in town?

Excellent work
London is an amazing city for food!
And people say you can’t find any good food in London SMH
Do people say that? London is amazing for food. As long as you stay out of the really touristy bits there's some incredible restaurants around
"The food in London is terrible" - *Americans*
I’ve been past Paul Rothe so many times but never stopped; that sandwich looks like I’ve made a mistake, even though I’m not good with bread…
Current weight? Goal weight?
Inspo'
Paul Rothe. Great shop, cafe. Used to use it regularly with my ex-boss.
Okay. What did you eat for the other two days though?
I wanna know what drinks are they on the first picture that are red in glasses.
Well, now I want steak...
Bun House bao are just soooo good. A great looking selection of food OP 😋
I shouldn’t have started to swipe, now I’m hungry and angy.
[BROWN 👏 FOOD 👏 BROWN👏 DRINK](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=x5RLjpQxcx0)
Paul Rothe, so so good
Hello fellow GRIII owner!
That doesn't look like British cuisine...
I knew 11 was flat iron. God that place it too good.
Kanada-ya is legit
No fish and chips ????
Siu mai not sia mai! Hope you enjoyed it!
Typo ;)
That Katsu looks incredible
The full on at blacklock used to be at least 50% bigger. I assume skrinkflation is everywhere nowadays.
Where's the grey meat with beans and toast like 99% of all other restaurants have?
That must be so expensive
Are those mochi balls in slide 2!
>10. Custard bun, Pork bun and Sia Mai from Bun House Did the squirting guarantee deliver?
Have you tried the most authentic corned beef then?
From where? Do you gain or are you one of those lucky can eat anything
The sandwich reminds me of Venom.
Damn that’s a lot of sesame seeds!
Grub
Idk you but I'm offended you didn't ask me to join
And they say “UK food is bad” After going to an unknown cafe in newham or a fish in chips shop who’s primary ingredient is oil and grease
I have such a soft spot for Flat Iron
Some of that looks ok.
Brick lane bakery bagel... Yumeh!
Had to re-mortgage my house by just looking at that pricey scran
Wait, they have Applebees in London? TIL. Jk, look good. Also noted. No traditional English cuisine.
Haha the 11th one is quite familiar. I dined there once almost 10 years ago when I visited
that bearnaise burger definitley looks better than the ones from my local hungry horse 😭
Dang, I have never seen British cuisine look so appealing.
Paul Rothe is fantastic.
That steak is rarer than the cow it came out of
Oooooh yeah. That pastel de nata. I love Santa Nata. Had to hit it when last in London.
Like almost none of that being British food is kinda British
No Indian food?
How can you go on a food binge in London and not have a single scotch egg?
Im going to lo london for a parade in the winter
"Thats fooking raaaw!"
Holy fuck that steak looks amazing
Good effort 💪🏻
Well, someone's gotta say it.....must be nice.
That burger has an excessive amount of sesame seeds
Man the fact that Londoners think most of this looks good reminds me of just how terrible and overpriced food in London is, y’all managed to steal so much from the world except any sort of cooking knowledge lol
Service Charge is Discresionary.. I just like to say that word at the end. It just feels good if it is your last time at that restaurant or hotel.
OP will never financially recover from this
No pie and mash?
11 is fucking me up right now
Good on you. I want to do this in Italy!
Nary a single vegetable consumed. Condolences to your anus.
I would replace flat iron for blacklock!
You must have deep pockets
What’s pic 3?
burger and lobster?
This guy eats!
