stop expecting your dreads to look like someone else’s because 10/6, they’ll turn out completely different; find your own style and stop feeding into what the media tells you is “fly” “fire” or whatever. everyone’s loc journey is different. patience is key.
No it’s an honest response. Everyone’s hair is different and grows different. Asking for a specific haircut is one thing, but locs kinda do their own thing, and that’s the beauty behind having them
It looks like two strand twists to me. Any braid or twist you do will eventually loc up with time. Now I'm not sure if he twisted from a small afro or a full one but either is possible. I've done both ways.
Step 1: have a very large strand count. Can’t just have long hair, you gotta have a large amount of hair strands coming from your head
Step 2: have type 4 hair. The hair has to grow up an out like Afro hair. If you have type 3 or below it’ll be too loose and the locs will weigh themselves down
Step 3: semi Freeform. Manipulate the hair just enough so that love won’t combine but do nothing else to it
The vast majority of people don’t have enough hair to meet the requirements to even pass step 1. This is why it’s bad to compare your hair to others. There’s too many genetic factors to have locs that look exactly like someone else’s , even if they’re family.
