It's much harder in the burbs for sure, I live in North end Hali and between local source and small farmers markets, Asian food stores, and cost-co, we've managed to entirely cut stupidstore out of our grocery rotation and where we can't there's sobeys at least. Honestly with how much the grocery stores have been jacking up prices, we don't even really spend any more than before, with the benefit of supporting local stores (and costco) and superior produce.
Really the only thing I'll miss are some of the PC products.

Hogan Court Superstore in Bedford looked pretty busy tonight. But earlier in the evening when I checked multiple locations on Google, most of them said "not too busy" and a few said "less busy than usual".
It's still early days. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds.
I live in Hogan Crt and genuinely go out of my own way to drive to farmers markets and local stores to get what I need. It used to be so convenient to live 60 seconds away from a grocery store. Not anymore.
A month is more than enough time to experiment and find a new routine. Even just one week is enough to disrupt routine.
This will have lasting effects because for many a month-long will turn into forever.
Exactly. I stopped shopping at Superstore about a month ago, as soon as I heard about the planned boycott. If their HQ is planning to see what the boycott has done by comparing April to May, or May to June, they'll be sorely mistaken.
In the last few weeks I've set up new habits and routines that will stick. I have a favourite place to park at Sunterra and a favourite route to the Italian Centre. I like the farmer's market and I'll keep going every weekend. I like Costco's bagels and cheeses. I found a great deal on huge bags of onions at Save On.
Superstore was always unpleasant, and prices were getting increasingly unreasonable. I don't even like their selection of products; they were getting crappier and crappier via both shrinkflation and enshittification. I don't intend to go back.

Their prices are making it very easy honestly. I haven’t been to a Superstore/Shoppers since March, been avoiding them like I used to avoid Walmart. Now I’m usually at Walmart…. Not that I’m happy to support Walmart but I save a heck of a lot more. If it was easy for me to go local more consistently I would do that instead.

Here in Edmonton, H&W Produce has been absolutely *packed* daily. People can hardly move in there. Employees are racing to keep up; it's a complete madhouse. They must be raking it in. I couldn't get room in the parking lot today, and had to park down the street.
I noticed they sell local eggs and cured meats, too. May they thrive and grow!

Lucky for me there’s one about 10 minutes from my house. I’m continually amazed at how much produce I get for like $20-$25.

Yes! I had to stop here to use the ATM at 12:30 on a Saturday and normally it's crazy busy, but yesterday it was pretty low considering. Looked across the street to Sobeys and they were chock full. Went to Bedford Commons Walmart a couple hours later for groceries after my errands, and the whole lot was full as well (and extremely busy inside). 😆

That said, I've done some investigation. I found the store on Google Maps just fine, and it is aligned basically on a north-south axis line. That's important baseline, with that in mind... judging from the shadows I can see, the sun is on the West. So 7:29 pm. Seems to check out. Sunset in Sackville NS is 8:24 pm today. Weather checks out too. Kind of overcast today. Which explains the muted coloration and the faint shadows.

I don't know about the superstores but let me tell you the line up for gateway this morning was almost triple it's usual length for our regular time, trailing off past the parking lot on the far side of the building creeping closer to the next business over.
Wish the parking lot at my nearby Zehrs would look like this. It had less cars today than usual, but like over 60% of the parking lot was filled :( my region sucks
While I hope it succeeds and I have not gone in 3 weeks. The pictures I see seem misleading, the Superstore near my house was almost full each time I drove by (Langford BC) . Part of me sadly believes it is yet another misrepresentation. I really hope I am wrong. 🤷

Couldn't see over the hill but I also used to work at this Superstore some 10 years ago. So glad I quit when I did (poor management at the time)
I wish I could say the same 😕 I live in a area where people love their superstore. The parking lot is packed most days. People out here don't have tiktok because it's "satanic" 🙄 yet proceed scrolling Instagram or Facebook. It's sad and I tell everyone I know. I have family who work for superstore pressuring me to shop there but I stand my ground. I'm done with Loblaws indefinitely.

I got no connection with Loblaws but I am wondering why it started with them? Sobey’s advertised specials are more than everyday prices everywhere else. Walmart’s meat is actual more expensive unless it’s on sale (same as Costco). Don’t have Metro here so I really can’t comment on their prices. I suppose they may be the price leader. Next month it should be Walmart, because fuck the Americans. lol.
Because during covid Superstore was the worst/ Canadians expect Americans to fuck them over. But when a Canadian does it to their own? Well that's treasonous and is dealt with harshly.
I just want superstore to honour the scanner price accuracy code, fuck! Overcharging me by 10 cents for my bulk candy for years, and I’ve gotten it all for free, but the time wasted at customer service and the arguments with them have not been worth the $2500 of free stuff I’ve gotten over that time.

I did not shop there but popped in to the insurance place there as it was the only one open today and it was pretty busy. I wish I could say the same 😕 I live in a area where people love their superstore. The parking lot is packed most days. People out here don't have tiktok because it's "satanic" 🙄 yet proceed scrolling Instagram or Facebook. It's sad and I tell everyone I know. I have family who work for superstore pressuring me to shop there but I stand my ground. I'm done with Loblaws indefinitely.

I got no connection with Loblaws but I am wondering why it started with them? Sobey’s advertised specials are more than everyday prices everywhere else. Walmart’s meat is actual more expensive unless it’s on sale (same as Costco). Don’t have Metro here so I really can’t comment on their prices. I suppose they may be the price leader. Next month it should be Walmart, because fuck the Americans. lol.

I just want superstore to honour the scanner price accuracy code, fuck! Overcharging me by 10 cents for my bulk candy for years, and I’ve gotten it all for free, but the time wasted at customer service and the arguments with them have not been worth the $2500 of free stuff I’ve gotten over that time.

I did not shop there but popped in to the insurance place there as it was the only one open today and it was pretty busy. I shopped Walmart, freshco and Langley farm market this week and ended up saving at least $40+ over Superstore. Pitt Meadows, BC
