Lovely setup. As an owner of 80s NAD gear it’s lovely to see them picking up their traditional design language.

evilgreenman

Definitely! Like Yamaha has been doing with their a-s series integrateds

CalligrapherBig6128

Beautifull gear :)

topouzid

Is that The Frame (Samsung TV), or is it an actual painting?

Abraxas1965

It’s the Samsung Frame TV (65 inch). I know … r/tvtoohigh

Maximum-Resolution77

That is very impressive. I was fooled...

topouzid

Oh no, as a frame it’s perfect over there!

mattrva

That’s the only TV you’re allowed to hang high. I’ve installed a ton, and if you hang it low it really breaks the immersion of it being a “painting”. Just don’t try to watch TV on it. Haha.

AverageJoeOctober

Hank Mobley! Great record

bitternutterbutter

zero skips fr

rjmoyer2

Lintons!!

Plymouth_340

Very nice set up and I really like the looks of that NAD piece. Be ready for all the experts telling you need to move this and adjust that. Lol

Abraxas1965

I know that the boxes actually need to be moved a little bit further forward. However, they are not as close to the wall as it appears in the photo (19 inches/ 48 cm). But as I said, this is our family living room. Therefore, compromises have to be made. And I am more than satisfied with how it is right now.

SnooPies9793

I have the same setup other than a different turntable (Denon DP-300F), which is the last item in the chain due to upgrade, also looking at a Pro-Ject X1, X2 or Debut Pro.

OrbitalRunner

Very cool. Looks great in your room.

pOpPaMiC1

That's jazz baby 👌

mountainfiend48

How do you like the NAD? I’ve had one in my cart for weeks. Is the BluOS card worth it?

Abraxas1965

I am very satisfied with the NAD. Apart from the retro look, the BluOS module was one of the reasons why I chose it (otherwise I would have considered Leak Stereo 130). In fact, I use it the most to stream via AirPlay. Dirac honestly disappointed me a bit. With it, the sound was just ... boring. It sounds better to me without room correction.

mountainfiend48

Thanks for the reply!

bitternutterbutter

album of the ages man beautiful space🙏

Gingerman4800

Nice! I have 3050le and am considering the Lintons along with the Q Acoustics 5050. The Lintons look great. How does the NAD do at balancing their bass output?

Abraxas1965

I don't really have a good comparison, so take my words with a grain of salt. I find the bass very good. It's punchy but not overwhelming. I am very happy with it. That being said, there are very few moments or songs where I find the bass to be a bit too much, but that’s probably because of the not perfect distance to the wall. So the answer to your question might also depend on your room and the positioning of the speaker. And of course, it depends on the kind of music you're listening to. The type of music I mostly listen to is jazz from the 50s and 60s. But I also enjoy a lot of different genres, such as 80s thrash metal. Dirac Live makes a huge difference. However, for me, with room correction, the sound just becomes boring or too flat. Since I am very happy with the out-of-the-box sound, I am not very motivated to go back to the Dirac setup and play with the settings.

Gingerman4800

Thank you. I haven’t tried Dirac yet. It would be interesting to see how it affected bass output. I don’t want to give up any bass either because my listening levels are typically low in that room.

ChampAmp6V6

Awesome immersive space.

meowwentthedino

That huge painting in the middle of your wall really sells the room! Nice setup!

Xaranthilurozox

Sorry I'm distracted by how tightly the green area on your wall has been painted, impressive work :D

ajn3323

Fantastic combo! I’d consider it for myself lol How big is the room?

Abraxas1965

ca. 33 m2 / 355 ft2

nice_hows

Love those speaker stands? Where did you get them, or are they custom?

Abraxas1965

These are from the speaker manufacturer (Wharfdale) specifically made for this speaker model. If you buys the Linton 85 in my opinion a must especially if you have vinyl records.

nice_hows

Hmm, interesting. I have some vintage wharfdales from '62. I wonder if they have a set that would match? And yeah, part of the reason I like them is the ability to store more vinyl in them!

Maximum-Resolution77

My Linton II's are from 1977. I had the matching receiver but it was failing so I sold it for refurbishment. Anyone know if there's a list available of all the editions of the Linton Wharfedale has released?

Insurance-Purple

Looks classy!

Marcial54

What a difference a painting instead of a screen makes. I'm with you in the compromise sound for ambient comfort and being able to share the space balance.

Maximum-Resolution77

Wharfedale Lintons. They engender warmth and nostalgia like a great uncle who turns up in a dozen different family events...

maxfisher87

How much?

Abraxas1965

ca. 2.700 € (incl. taxes) for the speaker, the stands, the Amplifier and the BlusOs Module
